Today’s Bible Feature
Exodus Chapter 36—Note: I am now using the New American Standard Bible. Keep in mind that when “the LORD” appears with all the letters in LORD capitalized, the Name Yahweh belongs there. Also, when you see “the Lord GOD” with all the letters in GOD capitalized, Yahweh belongs there as well. I have placed Yahweh’s Name where it belongs. See His Name is Yahweh for details.
- “Now Bezalel and Oholiab, and every skillful person in whom Yahweh has put skill and understanding to know how to perform all the work in the construction of the sanctuary, shall perform in accordance with all that Yahweh has commanded.”
- Then Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every skillful person in whom Yahweh had put skill, everyone whose heart stirred him, to come to the work to perform it.
- They received from Moses all the contributions which the sons of Israel had brought to perform the work in the construction of the sanctuary. And they still continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning.
- And all the skillful men who were performing all the work of the sanctuary came, each from the work which he was performing,
- and they said to Moses, “The people are bringing much more than enough for the construction work which Yahweh commanded us to perform.”
- So Moses issued a command, and a proclamation was circulated throughout the camp, saying, “Let no man or woman any longer perform work for the contributions of the sanctuary.” Thus the people were restrained from bringing any more.
- For the material they had was sufficient and more than enough for all the work, to perform it.
- All the skillful men among those who were performing the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet material, with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman, Bezalel made them.
- The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits and the width of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains had the same measurements.
- He joined five curtains to one another and the other five curtains he joined to one another.
- He made loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set; he did likewise on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the second set.
- He made fifty loops in the one curtain and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was in the second set; the loops were opposite each other.
- He made fifty clasps of gold and joined the curtains to one another with the clasps, so the tabernacle was a unit.
- Then he made curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains in all.
- The length of each curtain was thirty cubits and four cubits the width of each curtain; the eleven curtains had the same measurements.
- He joined five curtains by themselves and the other six curtains by themselves.
- Moreover, he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the first set, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the second set.
- He made fifty clasps of bronze to join the tent together so that it would be a unit.
- He made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of porpoise skins above.
- Then he made the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing upright.
- Ten cubits was the length of each board and one and a half cubits the width of each board.
- There were two tenons for each board, fitted to one another; thus he did for all the boards of the tabernacle.
- He made the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side;
- and he made forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.
- Then for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty boards,
- and their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board and two sockets under another board.
- For the rear of the tabernacle, to the west, he made six boards.
- He made two boards for the corners of the tabernacle at the rear.
- They were double beneath, and together they were complete to its top to the first ring; thus he did with both of them for the two corners.
- There were eight boards with their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets, two under every board.
- Then he made bars of acacia wood, five for the boards of one side of the tabernacle,
- and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the rear side to the west.
- He made the middle bar to pass through in the center of the boards from end to end.
- He overlaid the boards with gold and made their rings of gold as holders for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
- Moreover, he made the veil of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen; he made it with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman.
- He made four pillars of acacia for it, and overlaid them with gold, with their hooks of gold; and he cast four sockets of silver for them.
- He made a screen for the doorway of the tent, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen, the work of a weaver;
- and he made its five pillars with their hooks, and he overlaid their tops and their bands with gold; but their five sockets were of bronze.

SnyderTalk® Commentary
Today, I want to take a look at Proverbs 3 and think about it in light of the Name Yahweh. As you know, verse numbers aren’t included in the original manuscripts. They were added for reference purposes. To fully appreciate Proverbs 3, you need to read it as a letter from the Father to His children, which it is, so I have removed the verse numbers.
Proverbs chapter 3
My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear Yahweh and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
Honor Yahweh with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
My son, do not despise Yahweh’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because Yahweh disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.
Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed. By wisdom Yahweh laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.
My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for Yahweh will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.
Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back later; I’ll give it tomorrow”—when you now have it with you.
Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you.
Do not accuse a man for no reason—when he has done you no harm.
Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways, for Yahweh detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence.
Yahweh’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble. The wise inherit honor, but fools he holds up to shame.
Inserting the Yahweh’s Name where it belongs makes a difference
I hope you can appreciate how important it is to see what the Scriptures say when you place the Name Yahweh where it belongs. Yahweh is our Elohim, our Savior, and our Redeemer. We can have faith in Him.
A Special Treat
A Threat to the World—this is something you really need to watch
Now that you have enjoyed a wonderful song about being born again in America, you need to know that you must not take your freedom for granted. This video showing the current situation in Sweden will help you understand why:
If you don’t think it can happen in the U.S., think again. It’s happening all over Europe right now. “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.” (Matthew 10: 16)

Special Section: Climate Change in the Time of Hacked Emails and Copenhagen
- U.N. climate chief says hacked emails are damaging
- Little room for compromise on climate change debate
- Global warming in the hot seat
- Earth’s next last chance
- It’s got to suck to be a climavangelist!
Maybe we should arrange for a White House Conference on Climate Change and invite the best scientists on both sides to make their cases in a format that can be broadcast on television. Every time I hear Robert Gibbs and others fall back on the glib argument that 2,500 scientists believe manmade CO2 emissions are the cause of global climate change, I get angry. 31,000 climate scientists signed a petition challenging that argument, but they have attracted almost no attention because their findings challenge the existing orthodoxy.
It’s interesting and ironical that the data at Hadley Climate Research Unit told a different story too, a story that squared perfectly with the 31,000 scientists who reject the argument that manmade greenhouse gases are causing earth’s climate to change. The folks at Hadley have committed criminal and academic fraud, yet they are not being held accountable. Instead, thousands of people are descending on Copenhagen this week to figure out how to solve a problem we didn’t create and can’t influence even slightly. As I tell my friends, we can reduce smog in LA by getting people to change their driving habits, but volcanoes won’t listen. They go right on erupting and spewing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Is that important? You bet it is. Mount Pinatubo, for example, belched out more greenhouse gases in its first 24 hours of eruption back in the early 1990s than all of industrial mankind did in the previous 100 years. For your information, at least 22 active volcanoes pump greenhouse gases into the air 24/7, and they’ve been doing it since recordkeeping began. Keep these things in mind as you watch, hear, and read stories coming out of Copenhagen this week.
For more details, look at “Pages” in the column on the right of every SnyderTalk post and click on “Climate Change”. There is more data there than you will ever need to rebut the arguments made by people who believe manmade greenhouse gas emissions are the cause of global warming. The data actually shows that earth’s climate is COOLING.
