Today’s Feature
If we believe Yahweh God, the Creator, died for our sins, then we are forgiven. Our faith in Him alone, therefore, leads to our righteousness and salvation. It is a gift from our Father. All we have to do is decide if we want to accept His gift, because it cannot be earned.
You may be thinking that all of this sounds so fantastic, but it does not make any sense from a human perspective. No one would do that for me, and it can’t be that simple. Surely Yahweh expects me to do more than just accept His gift. Well, if you apply only human logic, it is impossible to understand what Yahweh is doing. So do not use human logic. Read His Word and apply His logic.
Yahweh does expect us to do good works. But the good works He wants from us have absolutely nothing to do with our redemption and salvation. These issues have to be settled before we can even think about doing works that Yahweh calls “good.” He gives us righteousness and salvation freely. All we need to do to secure them is have faith in Him.
When we have faith in God, He does something else special for us. It’s discussed in Psalm 37: 4-5—“Delight yourself in Yahweh; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh, trust also in Him, and He will do it.”
Do you get the point? Yahweh gives us the desires of our heart because we have faith in Him. He actually gives us His desires so that our works become works that He calls “good.” This, too, is a very special gift from Him.
When we believe Yahweh and He gives us the desires of our heart, we will actually desire to obey Him and do good things for Him out of faith and because we love Him, truly love Him. For example, He loves us, and He wants us to love others the way He loves us. He forgives us, and He wants us to forgive others the way He forgives us. He shares with us, and he wants us to share with others the way he shares with us.
These are the “good works” Yahweh wants and expects from us, but they are not sufficient to earn our redemption and salvation, and they cannot make us righteous before Him. Only faith in Him does that.

SnyderTalk® Commentary
Below are two sets of articles. The first set has to do with Somali pirates attacking and seizing ships off the coast of Somalia and holding cargos and/or crews for ransom. The second set relates to Israel’s war of self-defense in Gaza earlier this year. Take a few moments to review this material, and then I have a few questions for you.
Somali Pirates
- Somali pirates are natural allies of radical Islam
- Somali pirates are part of radical Islam’s war on the West
- Somali pirates and the Islamist jihad
- Somali pirates hijack yacht with 2 on board
The Gaza War
- Israel must answer for Gaza War
- Rattling the cage: our exclusive right to self-defense
- Militant Islam threatens us all
Isn’t it strange that the U.N. is trying to hold Israel as a country and its leaders individually responsible for war crimes because they fought a war of self-defense against Hamas, a radical Islamist political organization, but the radical Islamist pirates threatening shipping lanes in and around the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea attract little or no U.N. attention? Is there a double standard at the U.N.? Are radical Islamists in the Middle East given carte blanche to inflict senseless death and destruction on innocent victims while peace loving Jews in Israel are not permitted to defend themselves? I think the answer to these questions is “YES.” There is a double standard at the U.N., and the U.N. expects Israel to absorb unwarranted and unprovoked attacks without responding.
Western nations need to wake up. It’s time for us to realize that the U.N. has become a global megaphone for radical Islam. While we’re at it, we ought to look in our own backyards and see what radical Islam is up to on our own turf. Islamists are at war with the West, and the rest of the world for that matter, and they are not shy about admitting it. Israel is the front line in the war. It’s shocking that we are leaving her to dangle all alone. Every nation in the world—including Russia, China, and India—has its own radical Islamists to deal with. It’s time we worked together to put an end to this madness. The longer we wait, the harder it will be to deal with the threat, and you can put this in the bank. The radical Islamist threat to the world won’t cease until we end it.
One of the articles in today’s SnyderTalk deals with Israel forming a task force to counter the Goldstone Report on the Gaza War. I’ve posted many articles on it over the past few weeks. You can retrieve them easily by searching SnyderTalk for the word “Goldstone.” That will take you to them one at a time. If you haven’t read those articles, you should. This is the point I want to emphasize. It’s disgraceful that Western nations haven’t banded together to discredit that report. The world expects Israel to be defensive. If fair-minded political leaders from free nations did it, the effect would be dramatic.
