Today’s Feature
Yahweh is Holy
Although God’s love for us is unconditional, He is holy, and He cannot abide sin. We should be thankful that God does not require us to earn salvation by doing good works, because if He did none of us could ever be saved. Why? Because God’s standard for righteousness is not like ours.
We need to keep this fact in mind at all times. His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways are not our ways. His standard for righteousness is beyond our reach. He requires perfect holiness, perfect purity, and absolute sinlessness. In other words, God will accept no blemishes at all, and we are incapable of attaining His standard for righteousness no matter how good we are. What we call “good” simply does not pass Yahweh’s test.
God could not overlook our sins, because He is a just God. But He could pay the price for our sins Himself and declare us holy and righteous by covering up our sins with His own blood. If He had left even one spot or blemish uncovered, then we would be doomed, so we are totally reliant on Him for our righteousness and salvation. As the Proverb says, “Righteousness delivers from death,” (Proverbs 10: 2 and 11: 4) but it refers to a standard for righteousness that we cannot attain on our own.
In His infinite mercy, God planned things so we do not have to earn righteousness. All He requires from us is faith in Him—faith that He will do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He alone is our Redeemer. He willingly and lovingly died in our place and paid the price demanded by His Law for our sins, so we would not have to die. Yahweh, the Almighty God, is our absolutely perfect unblemished Sacrificial Lamb.
Does this sound farfetched to you? Well, ask yourself this question. Would good parents willingly and lovingly take a deadly disease on themselves if it threatened the life of their child? Yes they would, if they could, but they could not do it even if they wanted to. Thankfully, nothing is impossible for God. He could take our sins on Himself, and He gladly did.
If good parents would die for their children, why would anyone believe that God, who is a perfect parent, would not die for His? The only difference is that He can actually do it, and He did it. Do we really believe we are better parents than God is? I certainly hope not.

SnyderTalk® Commentary
If you study the Scriptures, you know that Israel, Jerusalem, and the Temple Mount are important to Yahweh. Still, it’s just now beginning to sink in for a lot of believers. That’s no surprise. To this day, people resist the notion that Yahweh is our only Savior, but that’s exactly what Yahweh told Isaiah: “I, even I, am Yahweh, and there is no savior besides Me.” (Isaiah 43:11) Joel (Joel 2: 32, Joel 3: 5 in the Tanach), Peter (Acts 2: 21), and Paul (Romans 10: 13) said the same thing. I think people resist because they’ve been taught that Jesus is our only Savior. They’re right, but they’ve missed the fact that Jesus is Yahweh. In John 8: 58, that’s what Jesus said. There is more you need to know about this issue, but I won’t deal with it here. I wrote a book about it titled His Name is Yahweh. You can download it for free at His Name is Yahweh, or you can get the Kindle version from Amazon for just $5.
Jerusalem and the Temple Mount are special. The Bible tells us that they will be at the epicenter of the conflict between Yahweh and His enemies as the End of Days approaches. We’ve been on a heightened state of alert since the Oslo Accords were signed in 1993. That was more than 16 years ago. When the Oslo Peace Process began, it was clear that the status of Jerusalem was going to be very difficult to handle so the decision was made to postpone that question until other less problematic issues were resolved. With each passing day, we take a step closer to a final peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. That deal is supposed to resolve the Jerusalem question once and for all.
Let’s be clear. Yahweh left no wiggle room where the Promised Land, Jerusalem, and the Temple Mount are concerned. They belong to Abraham’s descendants through Isaac and Jacob by decree from Him, and no one can nullify Yahweh’s promises. That means the leaders of the world are heading for a confrontation with Yahweh because they are trying to parcel out the Promised Land as if they had the authority to do it.
Keep these things in mind as you read the headlines. They will broaden your perspective and help to focus your opinions. The confrontation between Yahweh and His enemies is coming. I don’t know when it will be and neither does anyone else, but this much is certain. Yahweh will fulfill all of His promises. Our job is to tell people what we know about Yahweh and His Word. As I tell my friends, this isn’t our plan. It’s Yahweh’s plan, and the only reasonable course of action for believers is to get on board with it. You don’t want to stand in the way of Yahweh fulfilling His promises because you can’t win and you shouldn’t even try.

A Change in SnyderTalk Posting Time
I will begin posting SnyderTalk at about 6:00 P.M. on most days. This is my primary reason. The most active readership for SnyderTalk occurs between 10:00 P.M. and 12:00 A.M. The second most active period is between 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. By posting in the evenings, people who read late in the day will get their news a day earlier, and there will be only small changes in content for early morning readers. Posting in the evening also fits my schedule better. If you have comments about this change, don’t hesitate to let me know.
