“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

The Messiah is the Word of Yahweh

In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, he admonished believers to put on the full armor of Yahweh. His point was that we are fighting against spiritual forces in the here-and-now and that we can’t do our jobs properly unless we prepared for battle:

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of Elohim, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of Elohim, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of Elohim. (Ephesians 6: 10-17)

The Sword of the Spirit

In Ephesians 6: 17, Paul said that “the sword of the Spirit” is “the word of Elohim”. If you ask today’s Christians what the word of Elohim is, most of them will tell you that it is the Bible. By that, they mean the Old Testament and the New Testament.

That can’t be true. When Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians, there was no New Testament.  To Paul and other believers at that time, the word of Elohim meant the Tanach or what Christians call the Old Testament.

It never entered Paul’s mind that he was writing Scripture. He was writing letters to believers and telling them about Y’shua, the promised Messiah who is referred to in significant detail in Scripture (i.e., the Tanach/Old Testament). While He was with us in Person, the Messiah called Scripture “Moses and the prophets” (Luke 16: 29-31) and “the Law” (Matthew 5: 17-20). That’s exactly what Scripture is.

In the 300s AD, the Catholic Church elevated Paul’s letters to the level of Scripture.  Protestant churches held onto Catholic traditions. That was a serious mistake. See The Trilogy.

The Word of Yahweh

In his gospel, John told us that the Messiah is the “Word of Elohim”:

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. 2 He [the Messiah] was in the beginning with Elohim. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it…. 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1: 1-5 and 14)

John said plainly that the Messiah is the Word of Elohim. Yahweh’s written word, the Tanach, tells us about Him, but the Messiah is the literal Word of Yahweh.

When I wrote His Name is Yahweh, I asked Yahweh to show me evidence in the Old Testament that the Messiah is the Word of Yahweh. He did it. Chapter 8 of His Name is Yahweh is titled “The Messiah”. A subsection of chapter 8 titled “The Messiah is the Word of Yahweh” lays out the evidence convincingly.

The Truth Will Make You Free

The Messiah said, “The truth will make you free”:

31 So Y’shua was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”

34 Y’shua answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. 35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. 36 So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8: 31-36)

The Messiah is Yahweh’s Word. Yahweh’s Word is Truth. So, the Messiah will set you free.

The Word Became Flesh

In his letters, Paul wrote about the Truth. He did not write Scripture.

John wrote about the Messiah, the Word of Yahweh. According to John, the Messiah is Elohim:

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”

In John 8, the Messiah said that He is Yahweh. The Tanach says that the Messiah is Yahweh. You really need to read His Name is Yahweh. The evidence is in there, and it’s overwhelming.

While you are at it, read The Trilogy.

“I pray…that they may all be one, even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one. I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 21-24)
