December 27, 2019 SnyderTalk—Yahweh’s Mercy and Patience Have Limits

“My holy Name I will make known in the midst of My people Israel.  I will not let My holy Name be profaned anymore, and the Gentiles will know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel.”

Yahweh’s Mercy and Patience Have Limits

See “Netanyahu’s Big Win Means His Party Is in Real Trouble”:

JERUSALEM—After weeks of bad news, Thursday was a very good night for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who faced the first serious challenge to his leadership of the Likud party since 2005.

At the end of a tense, stormy primary day, in which Netanyahu’s side emitted text messages with invented commandments—“thou shalt not betray”—and supporters of his opponent, Gideon Saar, cried foul over electoral misbehavior, Netanyahu won, convincingly.

The final result was 72.5 percent for Netanyahu, and 27.5 percent for Saar, a former minister who ran on a nationalist agenda a notch harsher than Netanyahu’s and argued for a return to civility and decency in politics.

The only way to guarantee the continuation of the right-wing’s monopoly over the Israeli government was for new leadership to take over in the Likud, Saar said.

Netanyahu failed to win a majority of votes in two successive elections held this year, in April and in September, and has presided over the Israeli government as an interim prime minister, with limited powers, for a full year.

A ruthless political operator, Netanyahu has never nurtured successors. Most of the men who have served him, including former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and former Education Minister Naftali Bennet found themselves out of the Likud when their popularity began to threaten Netanyahu.

Saar is the only prominent Likud figure with the courage to state out loud what the Israeli public already knows: there is no path for Netanyahu to form a new government after the national elections on March 2, 2020.

In fact, the exuberance at this victory among the party faithful could fade as early as Sunday, when Avichai Mandelblit, the Israeli attorney general, has been forced to produce his opinion on a legal conundrum never before seen here.

Israeli Politics and U.S. Politics Have a Lot in Common

“Liberal progressives” in Israel have been trying to take down Prime Minister Netanyahu for years.  They have thrown everything at him except the kitchen sink, and the sink could be next.

Netanyahu’s political enemies run the establishment media, and they control Tel Aviv.  They think they are smarter than everybody else.  I haven’t spent a lot of time in Tel Aviv, but I have spent enough time in Tel Aviv to understand that the typical Tel Aviv resident knows about as much about Yahweh as Adam’s house cat. The notion of the Promised Land means almost nothing to a very large percentage of Tel Aviv residents. The establishment media in Israel is the same way.

I would even go so far as to say that most Tel Aviv residents and the Israeli establishment media see people who have faith in Yahweh and believe His promises as mentally challenged.  They are in for a surprise.

Outside Tel Aviv, things are very different.  There are hard working men and women who think that faith in Yahweh is important.  They see the State of Israel as the fulfillment of several of Yahweh’s promises, and they look forward to the fulfillment of many more promises.

Despite doing everything imaginable to destroy Prime Minister Netanyahu, Tel Aviv leftists and the Israeli establishment media have failed.  While they have tried to annihilate him, Netanyahu has shepherded Israel through some difficult times and helped to turn a tiny nation into an economic and military juggernaut.

That’s not an accident.  Yahweh is behind the Prime Minister.

Benyamin Netanyahu isn’t perfect, but neither is anyone else.  In Israel, he is Yahweh’s man for a time like this.

Israel is a microcosm of the U.S. in virtually every way.  “Liberal progressives” are acting here the same way they are acting in Israel. The establishment media here is playing the same role that it is playing in Israel.  “Liberal progressives” are losing here, and they are losing in Israel.

Yahweh chose both Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump for a time like this, and we are not living in normal times.  People who are familiar with Yahweh’s promises know that some really big things are happening and even bigger things are about to happen.

Noga Tarnopolsky

Noga Tarnopolsky, the writer of the article that I used to introduce this SnyderTalk editorial, is part of the problem.  She has many counterparts in Israel and the U.S.  According to her bio, Tarnopolsky is GlobalPost’s Senior Correspondent in Israel and Palestine.

There is no “Palestine” except in the imaginations of “liberal progressives”.  They simply pretend that “Palestine” exists, and they think their pretending will make it so.

Forget about it.  Yahweh has other plans, big ones, and they don’t include interlopers stealing land that He promised to Abraham’s descendants through Isaac and Jacob.  Oddly enough, just like in Israel, Jewish Americans are some of Yahweh’s fiercest enemies.  They should understand that associating with Judaism will be no protection for them when Yahweh lowers the hammer.  Neither will their lineage, but that’s another story.

According to her bio, Tarnopolsky “has been published in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Washington Post and Ha’aretz among other publications.”  A quick review of her articles explains why Tarnopolsky is a darling of “liberal progressives”.  Her head is so far up her derrière that she can’t see the light of day.

I’ll be as blunt as I can be.  Faith in Yahweh is evidence of belief in Him.  People who don’t have faith in Yahweh don’t really believe in Him.  The day is coming when everyone will discover what that means.

I feel sorry for Jewish people who don’t understand that betraying Yahweh has serious consequences.

Yahweh is Blessing Israel and the U.S.

Thankfully, Yahweh is blessing Israel and the U.S., and He’s using Benyamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump to do it. Both of them will survive, and both of them will succeed.  People who are trying to destroy them will suffer more than they can imagine.

Yahweh’s enemies think that since they haven’t been struck by lightning or something equally dramatic, they are safe.  They need to think again.  I, for one, would like to see a few lightning bolts, but that’s just me.  Yahweh is merciful and patient, but there are limits to His mercy and patience.

I think we have just about reached those limits, or at least I hope we have.

I really like this quote from C.S. Lewis.  It appears in his book Mere Christianity:

“God will invade. But I wonder whether people who ask God to interfere openly and directly in our world quite realise what it will be like when He does. When that happens, it is the end of the world. When the author walks on to the stage the play is over. God is going to invade, all right: but what is the good of saying you are on His side then, when you see the whole natural universe melting away like a dream and something else – something it never entered your head to conceive – comes crashing in; something so beautiful to some of us and so terrible to others that none of us will have any choice left? For this time it will God without disguise; something so overwhelming that it will strike either irresistible love or irresistible horror into every creature. It will be too late then to choose your side. There is no use saying you choose to lie down when it has become impossible to stand up. That will not be the time for choosing; it will be the time when we discover which side we really have chosen, whether we realised it before or not. Now, today, this moment, is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It will not last for ever. We must take it or leave it.”

We live in exciting times, and things are going to get a lot more exciting.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
