Chinese Leaders are Treating Islam like a Mental Illness: They may be onto Something

One million Muslims are being held right now in Chinese internment camps, according to estimates cited by the UN and U.S. officials. Former inmates—most of whom are Uighurs, a largely Muslim ethnic minority—have told reporters that over the course of an indoctrination process lasting several months, they were forced to renounce Islam, criticize their own Islamic beliefs and those of fellow inmates, and recite Communist Party propaganda songs for hours each day. There are media reports of inmates being forced to eat pork and drink alcohol, which are forbidden to Muslims, as well as reports of torture and death.
The sheer scale of the internment camp system, which according to The Wall Street Journal has doubled in China’s northwestern Xinjiang region just within the last year, is mindboggling. The U.S. Congressional-Executive Commission on China describes it as “the largest mass incarceration of a minority population in the world today.” Beijing began by targeting Uighur extremists, but now even benign manifestations of Muslim identity—like growing a long beard—can get a Uighur sent to a camp, the Journal noted. Earlier this month, when a UN panel confronted a senior Chinese official about the camps, he said there are “no such things as reeducation centers,” even though government documents refer to the facilities that way. Instead, he claimed they’re just vocational schools for criminals.
Islam is a Problem
China has problems with Islam. So do Russia, Europe, the U.S., and Canada. Don’t forget about Africa, South America, and Mexico. Australia has problems with Islam, too.
Wherever Muslims gather in large numbers, Islam becomes a problem. People who take Islam seriously can’t help but notice that the Quran calls for subjugating, converting, or killing unbelievers (i.e., infidels).
Most people who call themselves Muslims don’t take the Quran seriously. They were raised in Muslim families. They grew up in Muslim countries. They go to mosque occasionally. That’s the extent of their religion.
Most Muslims are nominal Muslims: Muslims in name only. Regrettably, that’s true about Christians, too.
Islamists are a Threat to the World
About 15% of people who call themselves Muslims take the Quran seriously. They are the problem.
There are roughly 1.8 billion Muslims in the world today. They represent about 24% of the global population. If 15% of them are real Muslims, that means there are roughly 270,000,000 potential Islamist terrorists in training right now. That’s a serious threat to the rest of us including nominal Muslims in predominantly Muslim countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Chinese leaders are paying attention. Devout Muslims are crazy. They are hell-bent on destruction.
Look at Western Europe
Thanks to mindless immigration policies, the Muslim populations of Western European countries are reaching the tipping point. Muslim migrants are Islamicizing Western Europe in front of our eyes and marginalizing people who understand the problem by referring to them as Islamophobes.
“Liberal progressives” in Western Europe are contributing to the problem by joining the chorus. They are fools.
You can bury your head in the sand, but you are only hurting yourself if you do. Eventually, ignoring reality will cost you dearly.
The Islamist Threat isn’t New
Winston Churchill understood the problem many decades ago. He said, “How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism [Islam] lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.”
In the early days of our country, President Thomas Jefferson was forced to come to grips with reality. He said, “We took the liberty to make some inquiries concerning the grounds of their pretensions to make war upon a nation who had done them no injury, and observed that we considered all mankind as our friends who had done us no wrong, nor had given us any provocation. The ambassador answered us that it was founded on the laws of their prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Musselman [Muslim] who should be slain in battle was sure to go to paradise.”
Overly-generous welfare systems in liberal democracies like the U.S., Canada, and Western Europe are magnets for Middle Eastern Muslims. They leave their Third World homes where they barely eke out a living, come to our countries, and live like kings without having to lift a finger. When they arrive, they suck us dry while they grow their numbers in hopes of one day taking political control.
Turkey, Russia, Iran, and China
Turkey, Russia, Iran, and China are strange bedfellows. I refer to them as the TRIC nations.
Iran became an Islamist state in 1979. Today, Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world. Iran has missiles that can reach Western Europe, and Iranian leaders are on the verge of having nuclear weapons. Katie bar the door when they put those weapons on the tips of those missiles.
Turkey turned toward radical Islam in 2003 when Recep Tayyip Erdoğan became prime minister. Today, Erdoğan is President of Turkey. He’s living out his faith and threatening Europe and the Middle East, particularly Israel.

Iran continues to try to increase its clout in the region and beyond by hosting important high level meetings and portraying the US and its allies as isolated.
A key meeting took place on Saturday in Tehran between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and officials from China, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and Afghanistan. Rouhani used the meeting to attack “the US, the West and the Zionist regime,” which he claimed are supporters of terrorist groups. As such he leveraged a meeting on terrorism to attack Iran’s adversaries. The Tehran meeting came a day before the Gulf Cooperation Council, which consists primarily of western allies, gathered in Riyadh on Sunday.
The gathering of leaders in Tehran was the second “Meeting of the Parliament Speakers on Combating Terrorism and Extremism.” According to pro-regime media in Tehran, the meeting also highlighted “regional connectivity.” The attendees at the meeting are important because Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan are ostensibly US allies, while China and Russia are two of the most powerful global states challenging the US on different fronts. China is engaged in arguments with the Trump administration over trade while Russia is involved in putting pressure on western allies, such as Ukraine, by detaining Ukrainian naval boats, harassing shipping and supporting proxies.
Despite their obvious differences, China and Russia are joining forces with Iran and Turkey. China and Russia are playing with fire. Eventually, they will get burned. Snakes bite the hands of the people who feed them.
China is Anti-Yahweh, Too
Chinese leaders want Chinese people to see their government as their god. That’s why they are attacking Islam. They are attacking Christians and Buddhists in China, too.
Chinese leaders will attack any group that they think represents a potential threat to their complete control. Even so, Christianity is on the rise in China. See “China, officially atheist, could have more Christians than the U.S. by 2030”.
