The Trump-Putin Summit: Charlottesville Revisited
The Establishment Media’s Reaction
Let’s begin by looking at a CNN article titled “Trump caved spectacularly to Putin. Here’s what might happen next”:
For as long as history remembers Donald Trump, it will be a day that will live in infamy.
The President’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki on Monday is already one of the most notorious moments in the tortured relations between Washington and Moscow.
Trump’s humiliation is taking its place alongside John Kennedy’s bruising at the hands of Nikita Khrushchev, and George W. Bush staring into Putin’s eyes and getting a sense of his soul.
Like those moments in US-Russia summit lore, the events that unfolded Monday are likely to have significant and unpredictable political and geopolitical reverberations in the United States and around the world.
Trump’s favoring of Putin’s denial of election interference accusations leveled by the US intelligence community was not just the most abject display given by any President overseas, it may be the moment that finally validated claims that Trump prizes his own interests above those of America.
The article goes on, but the excerpt above is enough. This article was written before the Trump-Putin Summit began, probably days before.
CNN is selling a narrative. They have been selling it since the day President Trump was nominated. The narrative hasn’t changed one iota. The president’s critics in the establishment media prepare everything in advance and leave a few blanks to fill in to give their fake news trash jobs some credibility.
They did the same thing when Justice Neil Gorsuch was nominated to the Supreme Court. He was confirmed by the Senate. They did it again when Brett Kavanaugh was nominated to the Supreme Court a few days ago. He will be confirmed by the Senate, too. As I said, the establishment media narrative remains the same. They write their stories in advance and fill in the blanks.
As soon as the Trump-Putin press conference ended, Anderson Cooper was on the air at CNN talking about Trump’s “no moral equivalence” argument. It’s the same criticism that he and others leveled against President Trump following the Charlottesville incident.
Nothing has changed. They are the same words and the same people telling the same story. It didn’t work following Charlottesville, and it won’t work now but they will keep trying.

As soon as he finished speaking, the “no moral equivalence” argument took center stage. It was a complete fabrication, a lie. As I said, the narrative didn’t sell then, and it won’t sell now.
Israel’s Reaction
Now, let’s look at Israel’s reaction to the Trump-Putin Summit. See “Putin and I Want ‘Safety for Israel,’ Trump Declares at Joint News Conference With Russian Leader”:
At a joint news conference in Helsinki on Monday dominated by President Donald Trump’s insistence that Russia did not interfere with the 2016 US presidential election, both the American leader and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin were keen to stress their agreement on other areas as well, including Israel’s security and the wider situation in the Middle East.
Putin said that once Syrian rebels opposed to President Bashar al-Assad’s dictatorship had been “crushed in the southwest of Syria,” both Israel and Syria should again comply with the May 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
“This will bring peace to Golan Heights, and bring more peaceful relationship between Syria and Israel, and also to provide security of the state of Israel,” Putin said, speaking through an interpreter.
“Mr. President [Trump] paid special attention to the issue during today’s negotiations,” Putin added. “And I would like to confirm that Russia is interested in this development and will act accordingly.”
This is real news, not fake news. CNN should have led with it because it matters. People’s lives are at stake. Israel’s future is at stake. None of that matters to the establishment media because they have a narrative to sell, and Israel’s future is not part of the narrative.
Iran’s Reaction

Visitors to the Twitter feed of Iran’s “supreme leader” on Monday were treated to the incongruous sight of multicolored balloons floating above a series of incendiary anti-Israel tweets.
The celebratory mood on what is normally a rather somber feed marks Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s 79th birthday — which falls on Tuesday, July 17, in the Gregorian calendar.
But as the last balloon disappeared from the screen, so did the jollity — leaving only a thread of threatening messages warning of the Jewish state’s coming destruction.
Denouncing US President Donald Trump’s “deal of the century” proposal for an Israeli-Palestinian peace as a “satanic, vicious plot,” Khamenei declared, “The turbulent dream that Al-Quds [Jerusalem] would be given to the Zionists will never come true.”
He continued: “The Palestinian nation will stand against it and Muslim nations will back the Palestinian nation, never letting that happen.”
As to his ultimate intentions towards Israel, Khamenei left little to the imagination in a further tweet.
“By God’s grace, the Palestinian nation will certainly gain victory over the enemies and will witness the day when the fabricated Zionist regime will be eradicated,” he vowed.
Khamenei’s birthday rant was excerpted from a speech he delivered in Tehran on Monday to organizers of Iran’s hajj — the annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia that faithful Muslims are required to make at least once during their lifetimes.
It happens that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s 79th birthday coincided with the Trump-Putin Summit. As this article points out, the “supreme leader” celebrated by sending incendiary tweets about Israel’s demise. That’s real news, not fake news. CNN didn’t touch it because it’s not part of the narrative they are trying to sell.
The Trump-Putin Summit addressed the Israel issue and the Iran issue. They were front and center in their discussions, as they should have been. At CNN and other establishment media outlets, those were sidebar issues to which their readers and viewers pay almost no attention.
To Yahweh, those are the real issues and the issues that matter. Those are the issues that matter to Yahweh’s people, too.
