“I am Yahweh; that is My Name!  I will not give My glory to anyone else, nor share My praise with carved idols.” (Isaiah 42: 8)

Now is the Time to Demonstrate Faith

I posted the photo below and the explanation associated with it on Facebook.  This is the kind of thing that the whole world needs to hear:

When you read in the Bible about Moses leading the Children of Israel in the “wilderness” and wonder what it might have looked like, remember this picture.

This is the wilderness. Moses led the Children of Israel through here.

It was from near here, it may have been from here, that Moses sent spies into the Promised Land, and they came back with a report that the people were too strong.

Only Caleb and Joshua dissented. For that, Yahweh gave them special recognition in the Bible and special blessings.

Since the majority of the Children of Israel believed the false report, all of them including Caleb and Joshua were destined to spend the next 40 years in the wilderness instead of claiming their heritage, the Promised Land, immediately.

The journey to the Promised Land should have taken 2 weeks at most.

We are living in a time like that right now. Yahweh is watching to see what we will do.

Erdoğan’s Quest for Glory

Finally, we have movement in the right direction.  President Trump announced that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital and that the U.S. would be moving our embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

That generated rioting in the Palestinian community and a hastily-arranged strategic summit led by none other than Turkey’s President Erdoğan.  See the articles below:

“Liberal progressive” Democrats, many of them Jewish, are teaming up with Erdoğan philosophically.  In practical terms, they are taking sides with Hamas and Fatah and other Israel-haters against the State of Israel.

Isn’t that what Balaam did?  Things didn’t work out well for him.

None of that matters, though.  Yahweh’s people must do what we must do.

Mahmoud Abbas can’t be Trusted

See “Abbas’ Fiery Rhetoric Toward US and Israel May Be Unconvincing to Palestinian Public, New Poll Suggests“.

Ordinary Palestinians don’t believe Mahmoud Abbas.  They know him too well.  To them, he’s a a self-seeking liar and a murderer.  Abbas is responsible for many times more Palestinian deaths than Israeli deaths.

In Gaza where Hamas rules, things are even worse for Palestinians.  Most Palestinians are jealous of Israeli Arabs because they don’t suffer the brutality of Hamas and Fatah rule, but at the same time, they can be easily manipulated.  That’s a problem.

Ordinary Palestinians don’t trust President Erdoğan, either.  Not long ago, Ottoman Turks practically enslaved Arabs all over the Middle East.  The memory of that hasn’t been lost.  Erdoğan wants to recreate an Ottoman Empire that he will rule as sultan.  Palestinians know that history all too well.  They know that it leads to no good.

Iran wants to recreate a globally powerful Persian Empire

See “Iran’s Rouhani urges every possible means to avert US move on Holy Quds [Jerusalem]”.

Iran is the wildcard.  Her leaders want to recreate a globally powerful Persian Empire and take control of Islam.  That pits Iran against Sunni Muslims, Saudi Arabia and Egypt in particular.

War between Sunni and Shia Muslims is simmering already.  It can turn into a raging fire in an instant.

Iranian leaders hate Israel.  That fact can’t be over-emphasized.  In due course, I believe that will take center stage.

What about China, Russia, and India?

See “India, China and Russia Refrain From Recognizing East Jerusalem as Capital of Palestine in Joint Statement“.

For the time being at least, China, Russia, and India are on the right side of the changes taking place.  They want no part of Erdoğan’s chicanery, and they are not ignorant about Hamas and Fatah.

The dots are lining up for significant change in Yahweh’s direction.  President Trump needs to get on with business while the iron is hot.  Good opportunities don’t last forever.

Then there is Europe, and oh what a Problem

European leaders are blissfully importing Islamists who threaten the survival of their nations, but they are wringing their hands in fear at the thought of Jerusalem being recognized as Israel’s capital.

Jerusalem has been Israel’s capital since Yahweh declared it more than 3,000 years ago.  President Trump simply recognized that reality.  Even so, at this moment European leaders are not predisposed to go along with President Trump.

Prime Minister Netanyahu says that eventually European leaders will come around.  He may be right.  Time will tell.  See “Netanyahu to EU: Most European countries will ultimately follow US on Jerusalem”.

Caroline Glick’s take on the European situation is explained well in “Europe’s war against the Jewish state”.  Glick is an astute observer of the facts on the ground and a participant in the process.  She can be trusted.

Candidly, I’m not as sanguine about Europe as Prime Minister Netanyahu is.

Inside Israel it’s Time to Rejoice

In Israel, we see a stark contrast.  Hamas and Fatah are doing their best to start another Israel-Palestinian war, a war that Palestinians would lose convincingly, and inciting violent demonstrations against Israel.  At the same time, ordinary Israeli people by the tens of thousands are rejoicing at the Kotel/Western Wall because finally a U.S. president is doing more than just talking.

See “Celebrating at the Kotel/Western Wall”.  It’s an amazing sight.

Let’s do the Right Thing

As I said, “Yahweh is watching to see what we will do.”  In His holy Name, I pray that we will do the right thing.

According to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, President Trump isn’t likely to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem any time soon.  See “Tillerson Says US Embassy Move to Jerusalem Unlikely During Trump’s Current Term”.

Is Tillerson right?  Is he giving us his opinion, or is he speaking for the president?

I don’t know the answer to those questions, but President Trump has consistently done what he promised to do.  Yahweh expects no less.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
