The Temple Mount in Yahweh’s Plan

The Temple Mount’s role in Yahweh’s plan is beginning to come into focus, but it isn’t crystal clear yet.

Yahweh set apart the Temple Mount for Himself.  For the past week, that tiny piece of real estate has been front and center in media reports about violence between Israel and Palestinians.

The establishment media portrayed Israel as the bad guy.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

What’s Behind It All?

In skirmishes like the one we just experienced, the world sees only “Israel vs. Palestinians”, but that misses the essence of the conflict.  In the grand scheme of things, we are witnessing a battle between Yahweh and his archenemy, Satan.  At a much lower level, it’s a fight between Jews and Muslims.  At an even lower level, it’s a conflict between Israeli Jews and “Palestinian” Arab Muslims.

In practical terms, Israeli Jews are the point of the spear.  Behind them are other Jews globally and then comes more than a billion people like me who believe Yahweh’s promises.  Problem is too few of Yahweh’s people realize that we have a role to play in this fight, so far too many of us are sitting on the sidelines twiddling our thumbs.

That will change.  Yahweh will see to it.  When He said that His people are led by His Spirit, He wasn’t making small talk.  He was revealing a fundamental truth that people ignore at their own peril.

“Palestinian” Arab Muslims are a small group.  They have been trying desperately for more than 50 years to win over the world’s Muslim population and involve them in their fight, but to no avail until recently.

Finally, “Palestinians” are making headway.  Turkish President Erdogan is stepping forward to help lead the charge.  Other Muslim leaders will do the same in coming days.  The forces involved are lining up now.

As we watch events unfold, it’s important to keep in mind that the real battle is between Yahweh and Satan.  Everything else pales by comparison.

Temple Mount Violence

The most recent episode of Temple Mount violence began about a week ago when Palestinian terrorists took guns that they had stored in Al-Aqsa Mosque and used them to murder 2 Israeli police officers near Lion’s Gate (a.k.a., Stephen’s Gate).  Eventually, the perpetrators were shot and killed by Israeli forces.

That incident erupted into a wave of Palestinian violence that swept across Israel when the Israeli government installed metal detectors at Temple Mount entrances and security cameras on the Temple Mount.  Even after Israel foolishly removed the security measures, the violence continued.  It’s subsiding now, and Palestinians are declaring victory.

For a dose of reality, see “Palestinians: The Metal Detector Scam”:

Metal detectors are commonplace at most prominent mosques in the Middle East, and more than 5,000 surveillance cameras (and 100,000 security guards) monitor pilgrims to Mecca in Saudi Arabia during the annual Hajj.

While the Palestinian terrorist was being treated for his wounds in an Israeli hospital, the Palestinian Authority celebrated his actions and set in motion the mechanism according to which he will receive a salary of more than $3,000 per month for his attempt to become a “martyr” through murdering Jews.

This is what actually happened.  Palestinian leaders incited violence to coincide with President Trump’s new peace initiative.  They needed an Israeli response to their provocations so they could lie to the world again about Israeli “brutality”.

I call it the Palestinian Two-Step.  It’s a little dance that Palestinians enjoy performing.  I’ve seen it many times.

Jordan is about 65% Palestinian.  Of course, they wanted to join in, too.  See “At Amman Protest, Hundreds of Jordanians Call for Cancellation of Peace Treaty With Israel:

Several hundred Jordanian protesters held a demonstration near the Israeli Embassy in Amman on Friday where they called for the cancellation of the Hashemite kingdom’s 1994 peace treaty with the Jewish state.

According to Israeli media reports, including one by Channel 2, the protesters chanted slogans such as, “A million martyrs are marching to Jerusalem” and “Resist, don’t give in.”

Tensions between Israel and Jordan have been running high since last Sunday’s incident in which an Israeli Embassy security guard shot two Jordanians dead after he was assaulted with a screwdriver. Jordan was also critical of the security measures — later lifted — Israel put in place at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem following the July 14 terrorist attack there in which two policemen were killed.

Hoping to demonstrate to President Trump that he is not totally irrelevant, Jordan’s King Hussein got involved as well.  See “Jordan king calls Abbas to urge calm after PA chief approves mass protests”:

Jordan’s King Abdullah II urged Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas to work to calm spiraling tensions Wednesday, hours after Palestinian factions, backed by Abbas, called for violent demonstrations Friday over the Temple Mount.

In a phone call, the two leaders “stressed the importance of continuing coordination to bring the situation back to what it was before the outbreak of the crisis and ensure that the historical and legal status in the Holy Mosque is respected,” according to a statement carried by the Jordan’s Petra news agency.

The official Palestinian Wafa news agency said the two “agreed to unify efforts and maintain consultations.”

No one knows better than King Hussein what is actually taking place in Israel.  His father had to deal with Palestinian evil when Yasser Arafat and his fellow perpetrators in the PLO tried to take control in Jordan in 1970.  It resulted in Black September.  King Hussein drove Arafat and his troops out killing about 40,000 PLO members in in the process.

Arafat took his army to Lebanon where they proceeded to foment the Lebanese Civil War.  It cost hundreds of thousands of lives, destroyed the country, and led to the rise of Hezbollah.

See “Bennett: Government’s Temple Mount decisions weakened Israel”.  Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett is correct.  Israel is worse off today than before the latest round of Palestinian violence because government leaders bowed to pressure.  That’s something they knew better than to do, but they did it anyway.

People who are not familiar with the Middle East may not understand why, but Prime Minister Netanyahu certainly does.  His decision to remove the security measures that he had put in place to protect innocent civilians endangers lives, and it gave the provocateurs the opportunity to declare victory.

See “Arab cartoons mock Temple Mount capitulation”:

Arab-language media around the world celebrated the removal of security measures at the Temple Mount, and the return of Muslims to pray there, with cartoons mocking the Israel’s perceived capitulation.

Early on Thursday Israel took down the last of a series of security installations it had erected at entrances to the holy site, known to Muslims as Haram al-Sharif (Noble Sanctuary), following a July 14 terror attack in which assailants used guns smuggled into the compound to kill two policemen guarding near there.

One cartoon published in Saudi Arabia’s Al Watan newspaper depicted the golden Dome of the Rock, which stands on the Temple Mount, with the crescent that caps the dome replaced by a raised hand making a “V for victory” sign.

Below is the cartoon mentioned in the quote above:

That’s not a peace sign on top of the Dome of the Rock.  It’s a victory sign.

As I said, all of this is part of Yahweh’s plan.  I wish I could tell you exactly how it will play out, but I can’t at this point.  I do know how it will end up, though.  The Messiah told us:

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling.  Behold, your house is being left to you desolate!  For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the Name of Yahweh!’” (Matthew 23: 37-39)

The day is coming, maybe soon, when the world will turn against Israel like never before, and the Temple Mount will be the epicenter.  In due course, the Israeli people will have no choice but to call on Yahweh and know who they are addressing.

The Messiah is Yahweh.  He’s the One Israel needs to call on.

As I said at the beginning, this is Yahweh’s plan.  We have the opportunity to participate with Him. That’s what I’m doing now.  What is your role?

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14)

Change that Yahweh calls “good” begins in the hearts of believers—people who are recognizable because they are different.

We are different because we belong to Him and are called by His Name.  We are Yahweh’s people, His followers.

Must Jewish People Convert to Christianity to be Saved? is a book that you will want to read.

In it, you will discover facts that most Christians are unfamiliar with.  It will enlighten you about the true faith of believers dating back to the time of Abraham.

The Messiah didn’t try to create a new religion.  Neither did the apostles nor His followers.  For the most part, the religion that we know today as “Christianity” is either Catholic or an extension of Catholicism.

That’s a serious problem.  Must Jewish People Convert to Christianity to be Saved? explains why.

The book is available in three formats: paperback, eBook, and PDF format.  Click on the titles below to access the version you want:

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
