Israel Hayom—2016 hailed as best year for Israeli economy in 4 years:

The Israeli economy grew by 4% in 2016, exceeding projections by 1.2 percentage points and marking the most solid economic performance for the country since 2012, the Bank of Israel said Wednesday.

Israel’s economy grew by 2.5% in 2015 and 3.2% in 2014.

In its 2016 annual report, the bank noted that the gross domestic product hit a record 1.22 trillion shekels ($337 billion); Israel had a record $12.4 billion surplus in its current account balance of payments; unemployment dropped to 4.8% in 2016; public debt dropped to an all-time low of 62.8% of GDP; the number of employed Israelis hit a record high of 3.74 million people; the GDP per capita reached a historic high of $36,800; private consumption climbed by 6%; and Israelis overall standard of living increased by 5%.

At 4%, Israel’s economic growth was double of the United States’ economic growth in the past year; it was 2.3 times higher than the average growth among Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development members; and 2.5 times higher than average growth in the eurozone.

According to the data, since 2011, the Israeli economy grew by a cumulative 21.6%, exceeding all OECD member states.

The report further noted that since 2011, per capita growth has increased by a cumulative 14.2%, and private consumption has risen by a total of 25.2%, meaning Israelis’ standard of living improved by an astonishing 17.8% since 2011.

Per capita growth in Israel increased by an average of 1.9% during this period of time, compared with an average growth of 0.8% in the U.S., 1.1% among OECD nations and 1.3% in the European Union.

The data indicates that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon’s goals of improving Israel’s ranking among OECD nations.

SnyderTalk Comment:

The Western world is going to hell in a hand-basket.

The Arab world is stuck in the barbaric Middle Ages.  Of course, they blame Israel for their plight.

President Trump is moving the U.S. in the right direction while depraved Democrats who are immoral to the core whine and moan.

Europe is about to explode.

Russia is facing its own internal problems.

There is one bright shining light in the world today: Israel.  She is the engine of change more than any other country.

What do you think would happen if Palestinians took over Israel?

I know what would happen.  It would revert to what it used to be when Arabs were in charge.

There is a Muslim graveyard in front of the blocked up Eastern Gate/Golden Gate to the Temple Mount.  I’ve been there many times, but I don’t go there anymore.

It’s a garbage dump.  I’m not exaggerating.  That’s what Palestinians would do to Israel if they were in control.

See “Palestinians: We Have the Right to Poison the Minds of our Children”.  You don’t need to dig too deeply to uncover the root of the problems where Palestinians have political and security control.  They are their own worst enemy.

Shalu shalom Yerushalayim. (Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.)

Switching Gears

See “Pelosi seeks to unify Dems on ObamaCare fixes”:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is pressing Democrats to hold back on specific ObamaCare fixes a week after President Trump and House Republicans failed spectacularly in their bid to repeal the landmark law.

Pelosi has told members to bring any suggestions to leadership before making them public, a stance intended to prevent Republicans from putting a target on them and avoid freelancing by her own members.

The strategy also seeks to unify the party on healthcare ahead of 2018, when Democrats are growing more confident that they could have a real chance of winning the House.

A few days ago, I said that House conservatives did the president and the country a great disservice when they prevented passage of repeal and replace.  Later, I said that one of the ringleaders of the Freedom Caucus, Jim Jordan, may be one of the dumbest men in America for the role he played in the process.

The article above explains why.  The Freedom Caucus and other House conservatives gave Democrats a lifeline that they can use in the 2018 election.  It may enable them to win back the House unless the president can deliver on healthcare without conservative support.

Keep in mind that the Democrat Party is the Party of Perversity.  A lot more is at stake than healthcare.  House conservatives should know that.

Be that as it may, all the talk we heard from Paul Ryan before the election about a repeal and replace bill being ready to go on Day One of the Trump administration and the high-minded chatter we heard from Jordan and other House conservatives who were trying to justify their idiotic decision to oppose repeal and replace was just hot air.

Failing to pass repeal and replace revealed something about conservatives in the House that I don’t like: they are not very good at what they do.

Politics isn’t pretty.  Sometimes it’s nasty and cruel, but that’s the nature of the game.  People who choose to be in the game need to learn how to play or they should stop running.

I’m just dreaming.  Most members of Congress love the limelight, places of honor at banquet tables, and the thought that they are really special people.  Few of them are willing to give up those things even when they know they should.  That’s why voters have to show them the door.

I’m all for President Trump singling out the ones who need to go and then working to support primary challenges.  That’s how it should be done.

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14)

Change that Yahweh calls “good” begins in the hearts of believers—people who are recognizable because they are different.

We are different because we belong to Him and are called by His Name.  We are Yahweh’s people, His followers.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
