President Trump Puts Iran on Notice

Article 1: Putting Iran on notice puts Tehran off balance:

In late January, just nine days after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, Iran tested a new medium-range ballistic missile – the Khorramshahr. The missile has a range of 3,000-4,000 km, which can reach all of Western Europe and can carry a nuclear payload. This test was the latest in a string of Iranian ballistic-missile tests that have been carried out since the nuclear deal (JCPOA) was announced in July 2015.

And, it was their first test of the Trump administration, which has not yet clarified its Iran policy but has already projected that it is not happy either with the JCPOA or with Iran’s ongoing provocations since the deal was announced.

Article 2: Expert: Trump Administration Should Keep Close Eye on Potential Iran-North Korea Nuclear Cooperation:

Paying attention to any potential nuclear cooperation between Iran and North Korea should be a priority for the Trump administration, a proliferation expert told The Algemeiner on Thursday.

“I think the main thing is to try to discover it,” David Albright — head of the Institute for Science and International Security think tank — said. “We know it [cooperation] happens in the missile and conventional weapons areas. As for the nuclear area, we look at it as an open question. We haven’t seen enough evidence yet to make an actual accusation, we just don’t know. But I think there is a real risk that Iran and North Korea could cooperate on nuclear matters. It requires a lot of attention from our intelligence services.”

“If it turns out such cooperation does exist, an argument could be made that it’s a violation of the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action],” Albright went on to say. “Whether it in fact is or not, lawyers would have to decide. It would depend on the exact type of cooperation. But the bottom line is you have to develop more resources to try to figure if it’s going on. And a revelation that it is going on would be quite damaging to Iran.”

Article 3: Amid Syrian chaos, Iran’s game plan emerges: a path to the Mediterranean:

Not far from Mosul, a large military force is finalising plans for an advance that has been more than three decades in the making. The troops are Shia militiamen who have fought against the Islamic State, but they have not been given a direct role in the coming attack to free Iraq’s second city from its clutches.

Instead, while the Iraqi army attacks Mosul from the south, the militias will take up a blocking position to the west, stopping Isis forces from fleeing towards their last redoubt of Raqqa in Syria. Their absence is aimed at reassuring the Sunni Muslims of Mosul that the imminent recapture of the city is not a sectarian push against them. However, among Iraq’s Shia-dominated army the militia’s decision to remain aloof from the battle of Mosul is being seen as a rebuff.

Yet among the militias’ backers in Iran there is little concern. Since their inception, the Shia irregulars have made their name on the battlefields of Iraq, but they have always been central to Tehran’s ambitions elsewhere. By not helping to retake Mosul, the militias are free to drive one of its most coveted projects – securing an arc of influence across Iraq and Syria that would end at the Mediterranean Sea.

Article 4: Iran’s FM: Netanyahu using ‘bigoted’ lies and ‘fake history’:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should not “distort the past”, Iran’s foreign minister said in response to the Israeli official’s claims that Iran had been trying to “destroy the Jewish people” for some 2,500 years,

Mohammad Javad Zarif accused Netanyahu of selling “bigoted” lies against Iran while resorting to “fake history and falsifying Torah”, following the Israeli prime minister’s remarks last week.

“To sell bigoted lies against a nation which has saved Jews three times, Netanyahu resorting to fake history and falsifying Torah. Force of habit. Once again Benjamin Netanyahu not only distorts the realities of today, but also distorts the past — including Jewish scripture. It is truly regrettable that bigotry gets to the point of making allegations against an entire nation which has saved Jews three times in its history,” Zarif said in a message posted on his official Twitter account yesterday.

What’s going on?

President Trump’s budget proposals frighten establishment Democrats and establishment Republicans.  Similarly, his words and actions scare Iranian leaders.

Iranian leaders are shaking in their boots.  Bluster is their way of hiding  humiliation and abject fear.

In a nutshell, the changes that President Trump is making threaten the existing global political order.  That’s a good thing, and it’s something that he promised to do.

The mainstream media represents the existing political order.  Thus, they are threatened, too.

Regarding Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif’s comment that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is selling “bigoted lies”, it’s obvious that he doesn’t understand what the prime minister said and that he hasn’t adjusted to the new reality.

Donald Trump is not Barack Obama.  HalleluYah!

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14)

Change that Yahweh calls “good” begins in the hearts of believers—people who are recognizable because they are different.

We are different because we belong to Him and are called by His Name.  We are Yahweh’s people, His followers.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
