Washington Post—Netanyahu is urged not to use the words ‘Palestinian state’ when he visits Trump:

JERUSALEM — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu likes to boast to his boisterous cabinet that no one understands the Americans better than he does.

But in his many years in power, appeasing and challenging Republicans and Democrats alike, Netanyahu has never dealt with a president like Trump.

The two leaders will sit down as equals at the White House on Wednesday. They have known each other since Netanyahu served as Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations in New York in the 1980s and was friendly with Trump’s father, Fred.

Netanyahu has been in nonstop consultations with his advisers as they prep him for one of the most important meetings of his career.

Israeli officials say the prime minister will seek to strengthen his already warm rapport with Trump after years of feuding and policy clashes with the Obama administration. But there is stark division on what message his right-wing government wants him to deliver in Washington.

His education minister and coalition partner, Naftali Bennett, leader of the pro-settlement Jewish Home party, has pressed him to abandon his tentative commitment to the two-state solution, which he first announced in a speech at Bar Ilan University in 2009.

Calling the upcoming visit to the White House “the test of Netanyahu’s life,” Bennett warned the 67-year-old prime minister that there were two words he could not utter at the meeting: “Palestinian state.”

SnyderTalk Comment:

The mainstream media is on President Trump like white on rice.  The Washington Post and the New York Times have increased the number of full-time reporters who cover the White House 24/7.  Other mainstream media outlets have done similar things.

Their goal is to criticize every move President Trump makes and poison the waters, so to speak, in the eyes of the American public.  Those who watch and read the news see evidence of this nonstop.  It’s about the get a lot worse.

Covering the president critically is a good thing, but where President Trump is concerned, they aren’t just covering the news, they are making it up.  I wish they had covered President Obama this way.  If they had, Obama’s evil double-dealing would have been exposed.  Instead, they rejoiced every time Obama stabbed an ally in the back and lied about it.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will visit Washington shortly for discussions with the president.  That will set off a cavalcade of criticism targeting President Trump.  His Israel policy is about to become the 800-pound gorilla.

In the process of attacking Trump, they will be attacking Israel and throwing their support behind the so-called “Palestinian people” and the Two State Solution.  We can’t make the mistake of taking their bait.

No matter what we see and hear, we need to remain steadfastly loyal to Yahweh.  That means we need to let our feelings about Israel be known.  Even more important, we need to pray for Israel and for the president.

I’ve said that time is of the essence.  I meant it.  Our government needs to join the chorus and pray that Yahweh will change our nation.

Yahweh told us exactly what we need to do:

“If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14)

Let’s do what Yahweh told us to do.

Change that Yahweh calls “good” begins in the hearts of believers—people who are recognizable because they are different.

We are different because we belong to Him and are called by His Name.  We are Yahweh’s people, His followers.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
