Israel and Jewish People are under Attack

Hardly a day passes without Israel being attacked in one way or another.  The latest terrorist attack in Jerusalem occurred a few days ago.  It involved a Palestinian truck driver who drove his vehicle into a group of IDF soldiers on the Hill of Evil Council killing four of them.

Israel’s Defense Minister, Avigdor Liberman, blamed the truck attack on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.  He’s right, but Abbas shares the guilt with President Obama. Both of them are inciters.  The dirty work is carried out by their followers who volunteer their services.

A heretofore unknown Palestinian group calling itself the “the martyr of Baha Alyan collective” claimed responsibility for the most recent murders and vowed that more attacks are on the way.

Since the passage of U.N. Security Council Resolution 2334 in late December, rock attacks in Israel have increased dramatically, too.  Vehicles, knives, and rocks are simple and inexpensive weapons that any would-be terrorist can use to kill or injure innocent victims, most of them Jewish.

There is no shortage of Palestinians, especially young men, who are anxious to die.  They are born and raised in a culture that celebrates violence and death.  Incitement works because it pays.  Any Abdul, Fakhir, or Jaleel can become a hero in Palestinian eyes simply by killing a few Jews.  That’s why Liberman was correct to point his finger at Abbas.

On Wednesday, the Palestinian Authority (PA) announced that it would pay the widow of the deceased murderer $760 per month for life.  The PA rejoices when Jews are murdered and rewards those who carry out vicious attacks against them.  Their practice is well-established and well-known.  Even so, Western political leaders typically brand Israel as a villainous monster.  That conclusion contradicts the facts and defies logic and common sense.

Obama betrayed Israel when he ordered his U.N. ambassador, Samantha Power, to abstain from voting on Resolution 2334.  It gave legitimacy to Abbas’ claims and added fuel to the fire.  It was Obama’s final insult to Israel as president, and it made him culpable in more deaths of innocent Israelis.

Under normal conditions, the U.S. would have vetoed the resolution.  U.N. hotheads would have had their day in the sun, but nothing substantive would have come of it.  The problem would have been defused.

In a very narrow sense, Resolution 2334 is about “illegal Israeli settlements”.  In a larger sense, it’s about the presence of Jews in the Middle East and the existence of the State of Israel. That’s the way Fatah and Hamas see it.

Obama played into the hands of Israel’s enemies by blaming unrest in the Middle East on Jews in Israel.

Since the day he founded the PLO, Yasser Arafat made his goals clear to anyone who was willing to pay attention.  He said, “Since we cannot defeat Israel in war we do this in stages.  We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine, and establish sovereignty there, and we use it as a springboard to take more.  When the time comes, we can get the Arab nations to join us for the final blow against Israel.” (Yasser Arafat speaking on Jordanian television, September 13, 1993—the same day the Oslo Peace Accord ceremony was held in Washington D.C.)

Arafat went even further.  He said, “Peace for us means the destruction of Israel.  We are preparing for an all-out war, a war which will last for generations.  Since January 1965, when Fatah was born, we have become the most dangerous enemy that Israel has….We shall not rest until the day when we return to our home, and until we destroy Israel.” (El Mundo, Caracas, Venezuela, February 11, 1980)

It’s impossible for an intelligent person to misinterpret Arafat’s remarks.  Mahmoud Abbas has faithfully advanced Arafat’s agenda.  Barack Obama knowingly and enthusiastically  played along.

Of course, Obama denied betraying Israel in the U.N.  Did anyone expect him to admit his guilt?  I don’t think so.

Emboldened by Obama, Abbas warned President-elect Trump not to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.  That was a thinly veiled threat.  This is what he meant: if you move the U.S. embassy, we will increase the number and the viciousness of terrorist attacks on innocent Israelis.  We might even target U.S. tourists in Israel.

In the U.S., Jewish people are under attack as well.  Obama’s actions over the past eight years have inspired large numbers of Jew-haters and other anti-Semites to ply their trade.  Reports of growing numbers of bomb threats on Jewish community centers in the U.S. are examples.

In a few days, Donald Trump will become President of the United States.  Thanks to Obama, his job won’t be easy.  Unlike his predecessors, Obama has promised to remain active.  In other words, he will continue to snipe and incite from the sidelines.  That will make President Trump’s job even more difficult.

Obama is not alone.  His army of co-conspirators in the Democrat Party and the mainstream media will do everything in their power to undermine Trump.  That means Israel and Jewish people will continue to be under attack.

Question: why do Jewish people in the U.S. continue to support the Democrat Party?  It doesn’t make any sense to me.

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14)

Change that Yahweh calls “good” begins in the hearts of believers—people who are recognizable because they are different.

We are different because we belong to Him and are called by His Name.  We are Yahweh’s people, His followers.

Jewish people are coming under attack in the U.S., too.  It’s not just a European or a Palestinian problem.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
