The Algemeiner—Potential Trump Secretary of State: Killing Iran Nuclear Deal ‘Courageous but Necessary’ Step Incoming Administration Must Take:
Revoking the Iran nuclear deal is a “courageous but necessary” step President-elect Donald Trump must take after he enters the White House in January, a former US ambassador to the UN said on Sunday.
“[T]he unambiguous signal it would send worldwide cannot be underestimated,” John Bolton — who has been touted as a potential secretary of state in the incoming Trump administration — wrote in a New York Post op-ed.
Bolton slammed outgoing President Barack Obama’s foreign affairs conduct during his two terms in office, saying, “[T]he world is more dangerous today than eight years ago.”
Obama’s foreign policy legacy, Bolton said, “includes reduced American global influence, dramatically underfunded military and intelligence capabilities, and rising concern among longtime allies about Washington’s understanding of international threats. A world of nuclear-weapons proliferation and growing radical Islamic terrorism are the consequences.”
According to Bolton, Trump will face “his most immediate international challenges” in the Middle East.

To make the world a safer place and to protect Israel, global leaders must confront Iran and put an end to her regional and worldwide aspirations.
A few days ago, 11 Arab nations accused Iran of sponsoring global terrorism and for meddling in their internal affairs in an attempt to create a caliphate with Iran at the helm. Their concerns are justified.
At this point, stopping Iran won’t be easy. For almost 40 years, Iranian leaders have been building a militant state that is brutal, demonic, and aggressive. Left unchecked, they will continue down a path that will inevitably lead to catastrophe.
Russia is working closely with Iran in Syria and China supports Iran. Despite the very real threat posed to Europe by Iranian mullahs, European leaders have shown no interest in dealing with the world’s largest state sponsor of global terrorism. The U.N. is a toothless tiger. Counting on that hapless institution to act responsibly is silly.
President Trump will be the only person in the world who can do what must be done. Stopping Iran may be the most important reason that Yahweh picked him for the job.
A few days ago, I said that the U.S. is being given a chance to do the right thing and that electing Donald Trump was Step One. Ambassador Bolton’s assessment of President Obama’s legacy is spot-on. In foreign and domestic affairs, he left chaos in his wake. President Trump has the opportunity to steer us in the right direction. Will he?
We’ll see Step Two in a few weeks.
