International Business TimesIsrael Wants Jews To Pray At Muslim Mosque In Jerusalem: Temple Mount Tensions Grow In Middle East:

Some Israeli lawmakers want to allow Jews to pray at an Islamic holy site in Jerusalem, a contentious proposal that is opposed by Middle Eastern leaders and could stroke tensions between Jews and Muslims in the Israel. Israel Parliament speaker Yuli Edelstein joined three cabinet ministers and three lawmakers Monday to demand Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “open the gates” to the religious complex and rescind a year-long ban on Israeli lawmakers from visiting the site, the Times of Israel reported.

The lawmakers want to create a new “Temple Mount Lobby” in the Israeli Knesset to lead the effort. Their policy proposal came as Israeli citizens, activists and politicians gathered at the Knesset-hosted Seekers of Zion conference Monday called the religious known to Jews as Temple Mount and to Muslims as Al-Aqsa be open for Jewish prayer. The compound sits on top of the Western Wall in Jerusalem and is considered to be Judaism’s [holiest] site.

“When we can say the Temple Mount is ours and only ours and there isn’t room there for anyone else, then we can be victorious in Amona, then we can conquer not only the Temple Mount but Jordan, and Syria, too, and establish a real Jewish state over all the land of Israel,” Rafael Morris, who started and is the leader of the “Return to the Mount” movement that has the eventual goal of building a Jewish temple on the actual Temple Mount complex, said during the conference about the West Bank and Jerusalem.

Under an agreement with Jordan, which has had custodian rights over Al-Aqsa since Israel seized East Jerusalem from Jordan in the 1967 Middle East War, worshipers of the Jewish faith wishing to pray at the the Temple Mount complex can do so in the Western Wall plaza, but not in the Al-Aqsa mosque itself.

SnyderTalk Comment:

In the days to come, Yahweh’s faithful remnant will look like radicals and nutjobs to unbelievers, but they will be in good company.

Noah was one of them.  He built a gigantic boat on dry ground.  It took him more than 100 years to complete his work.  His neighbors thought he was an idiot.

Gideon was one of them, too.  He destroyed his town’s god, and the city fathers wanted to kill him.

Some strange things are going to happen.  Be prepared and be careful before you choose sides.

I am not a preacher, so I hope you will pardon me if I go off on a tangent here.  Yahweh talks repeatedly about His holy remnant.  “Remnant” means a small part.

Paul explained it this way: “Though the people of Israel are as numerous as the sand of the seashore, only a remnant will be saved.” (Romans 9: 27)

Paul wasn’t sharing his opinion.  He was stating a fact.  This is how the Messiah explained it:

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’” (Matthew 7: 21-23)

The people about whom the Messiah was speaking will be going to hell literally.  In their own defense, they presented these arguments:

  1. They prophesied in His Name.
  2. They cast out demons in His Name.
  3. They performed many miracles in His Name.

They actually did those things, and they did them in Yahweh’s Name.  Ordinary believers, if there is such a thing, thought that those people were special, blessed if you will.  The Messiah didn’t see it that way.  He said that they missed the mark completely.  That’s what He meant when He said, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.”

To “practice lawlessness” means to ignore Yahweh’s commands and the leading of His Spirit and to live your life according to your own personal preferences and desires.  We can do that, but if we do, there will be severe consequences.

Yahweh’s people have a heart for Him.  They want to obey Him because they love Him and because it’s the right thing to do.

In Romans, Paul explained it this way: “For all who are being led by the Spirit of Elohim, these are sons of Elohim.” (Romans 8: 14)

Don’t let anyone mislead you.  Practicing lawlessness is a very serious offense.

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14)

Change that Yahweh calls “good” begins in the hearts of believers—people who are recognizable because they are different.

We are different because we belong to Him and are called by His Name.  We are Yahweh’s people, His followers.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
