CNN—Sit-in spurs late-night clash on House floor:
House Republicans sought to end an extraordinary day of drama and a 16-hour sit-in by Democrats in the early hours of Thursday morning by adjourning for a recess that will last through July 5.
The move is an effort to shut down a protest that began Wednesday morning when Democrats took over the House floor and tried to force votes on gun control. After scrambling to react, the GOP appeared to catch Democrats off guard in the middle of the night, when they moved swiftly to end the legislative session and undermine the protest.
Democrats, however, have promised to continue — without cameras, lights or a legislative session.
“Just because they have left, it doesn’t mean we have to take no as an answer,” House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said.

Regardless of what they say for public consumption, Democrats in the House, Senate, and White House want to make private gun ownership in the U.S. illegal. They deny it, but that’s exactly what they want.
I used to be a Democrat. I’m not just blowing smoke.
In the perfect world that Democrats dream of, only the government owns guns and Democrats control government. I believe they want a dictatorship with a Democrat in charge.
To show how evil Democrat thinking is, consider these facts:
- The Orlando terrorist attack is the latest of a long list of Islamist terrorist attacks in the U.S.
- The Orlando shooter, Omar Mateen, pledged his loyalty to ISIS.
- Almost 50 people were gunned down in an Orlando homosexual bar. It was an Islamist terrorist hate crime, a crime of passion if you will.
- The Democrat response: a “sit-in” to support gun control legislation.
If someone dares to say that the problem we face, the one that puts all of our lives at risk, is radical Islam, he or she is attacked by the same Democrats who are staging the “sit-in” for being an “Islamophobe”.
If that’s not evidence of evil, I don’t know what is.
Thankfully, our Constitution provides a right to keep and bear arms. Democrats have an answer for that, too: scrap the Constitution.
Remember, I used to be a Democrat. I’m not just blowing smoke.
While the 2nd Amendment protects private gun ownership, a constitutional protection that a growing number of Democrats deny exists, Democrats trumpet the “constitutional” right that women have to kill their unborn babies. The 2nd Amendment is in the Constitution. The right to kill babies isn’t.
Hillary Clinton says that she is pro-children and pro-abortion, and the Democrat Party is in lockstep behind her. Hillary also leads the pack of gun control activists.
These are evil times, and things are getting more evil by the day. In a little while, we may need those guns that Democrats think we shouldn’t own to defend ourselves and our families from Islamist terrorists. Democrats are increasing the likelihood that that will happen by allowing unvetted Syrian “refugees” to enter the U.S. even though they know that ISIS has infiltrated the “refugee” ranks with ISIS fighters who are military age men.
George Orwell couldn’t have written a book with a more bizarre plot. I wish it was a case of old-fashioned insanity, but it’s not. Like I said, it’s pure, unadulterated evil, and Democrats are in charge.
For the record, I am not a Republican. Never have been, never will be.
