Europe: What a mess!

People who believe the U.S. is a mess, haven’t looked closely enough at Europe.  It’s true that things are a mess in the U.S., but in global affairs, everything is relative.  Europe makes the U.S. look really good by comparison.

Things are so bad in Europe that Europeans, not just Brits, are openly questioning the viability of the European Union.  Pew Research released a report a few days ago which stated,

According to the results of a Pew survey released Tuesday — of more than 10,000 participants in 10  major E.U. nations this year — Euroskepticism is on the rise across the continent, even outside of Britain. Only 51 percent of those polled expressed a positive view of the Brussels-based institution, while 42 percent expressed the desire to have certain powers restored to their local governments.

As Europe comes unglued, European officials seem to be more concerned about freedom of speech than anything else.  They think they have too much of it.  That’s reminiscent of the Nazi era.  The EU is working with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Microsoft on a “‘code of conduct’ to combat the spread of ‘illegal hate speech’ online.”

Anti-Semitism is on the rise in Europe and masses of Muslim “refugees” many of whom are Islamists are flocking there bringing with them more Israel and Jew hate.  Those are problems that need to be addressed, but the solution isn’t to curtail freedom of speech.  Hate speech is the problem, but the EU definition of “hate speech” is so vague that it could apply to almost anything that anyone says.

Making matters worse, EU officials have proposed creating their own central intelligence agency that’s answerable only to unelected officials.  The Gestapo sprang up from that kind of thinking.  We know what the Gestapo became.  Could it happen again?  Yes!

By opening its doors to unvetted Muslim “refugees”, Europeans are changing the character of every European country, and the whole notion of democracy is in doubt.  Questions like “Is Islam Compatible with Democracy?” are being asked openly.  The answer should be obvious, but it’s not.  Sweden is a perfect example:

In Sweden’s last census in which citizens were asked about their religious beliefs, in 1930, fifteen people said that they were Muslims. Since 1975, when Sweden started its transformation from a homogenous, Swedish country into a multicultural and multi-religious one, the number of Muslims has exploded. Now, approximately one million Muslims live here — Sunni, Shia and Ahmadiyya from all the corners of the world — and Mosques are built and planned all over the country.

No one, however, seems to have asked the crucial question upon which Sweden’s future depends: Is Islam compatible with democracy?

The Swedish establishment has not grasped that Islam is more than a private religion, and therefore it dismisses all questions about Islam with the argument that Sweden has freedom of religion.

It may be too late for Sweden and for many other European countries.  One-by-one, they are demonstrating the kind of behavior that led to World War II.

Will it happen again?

It’s happening now.  We don’t have to wait to see it.  We are witnessing the march toward World War III.  By the time it’s declared, it may be over, and Europe will have lost.

Jihadist attacks are becoming commonplace, and Europe is bracing for more:

European security officials are bracing for potential jihadist attacks at public venues across Europe this summer.

In France, officials are preparing for possible attacks against the European Football Championships. The games, which start on June 10, comprise 51 matches involving 24 teams playing in 10 host cities across the country.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said that more than 90,000 security personnel will be on hand to protect the 2.5 million spectators expected to attend the games, as well as the hundreds of thousands more who will watch the matches on big screens in so-called “fan zones” in major cities.

Patrick Calvar, the head of the France’s domestic intelligence agency (Direction générale de la sécurité intérieure, DGSI), warned: “We know that the Islamic State is planning new attacks in France.”

Those Muslim “refugees” are bringing with them a whole host of problems including rape of non-Muslim women.  Jihadists see rape as their duty:

France isn’t far behind Sweden.  Paris is becoming a massive camp for illegal migrants:

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has announced plans to build a “humanitarian camp” next to one of the busiest train stations in the city, so that thousands of illegal migrants bound for Britain can “live with dignity.”

Hidalgo, who has often sparred with French President François Hollande for his refusal to accept more migrants, says her plan to help illegal migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East is a “duty of humanism.”

Critics counter that Hidalgo’s plan is a cynical ploy aimed at positioning herself to the left of the current president, as part of a political strategy to wrest leadership of the Socialist Party from Hollande, whose approval ratings are at record lows.

At a press conference on May 31, Hidalgo said the camp would be built in northern Paris “near the arrival points for migrants.” She was referring to Gare du Nord — one of the busiest railway stations in Europe — from where high-speed Eurostar trains travel to and arrive from London.

Pope Francis has joined the chorus.  Like EU officials, he is ignoring the obvious and pushing for “humanitarian” assistance to people who have committed their lives to the destruction of anything that isn’t submissive to the version of Islam to which they adhere.  Some are arguing that the pope has abandoned Europe to Islam:

  • In 2006, Pope Benedict XVI said what no Pope had ever dared to say — that there is a link between violence and Islam. Ten years later, Pope Francis never calls those responsible for anti-Christian violence by name and never mentions the word “Islam.”
  • Pope Francis does not even try to re-evangelize or reconquer Europe. He seems deeply to believe that the future of Christianity is in the Philippines, in Brazil and in Africa. Probably for the same reason, the Pope is spending less time and effort in denouncing the terrible fate of Christians in the Middle East.
  • “Multiculturalism” in Europe is the mosque standing on the ruins of the church. It is not the synthesis requested by Pope Francis. It is the road to becoming extinct.
  • Asking Europe to be “multicultural” while it experiences a dramatic de-Christianization is extremely risky. In Germany, a new report found that “Germany has become demographically a multi-religious country.” In the UK, a major inquiry recently declared that “Britain is no longer a Christian country.” In France, Islam is also overtaking Christianity as the dominant religion.

Muslim dissidents are telling the truth about Europe’s situation.  For example,

Islam, warned the best-selling Algerian novelist, Boualem Sansal, is going to split European society. In an interview with German media, this brave Arab writer painted a vision of Europe subjugated by radical Islam. According to Sansal, the terror attacks in Paris and Brussels are directed at the Western way of life: “You can not even defeat the weak Arab states, so they have brought in fifth columns to bring the West to destroy itself. If they succeed society will fall.”

Mr. Sansal, who has been threatened with death, belongs to a rapidly growing army of Muslim dissidents. They are the best liberation movement for millions of Muslims who aspire to practice their faith peacefully without submitting to the dictates of fundamentalists and fanatics. These Muslim dissidents pursue freedom of conscience, interreligious coexistence, pluralism in the public sphere, criticism of Islam, and respect for the rule of common law. For the Islamic world, their message could be devastating. That is why the Islamists are hunting them down.

As I said, the U.S. is a mess, but Europe is worse.  Thanks to Barack Obama and the Democrat Party, the U.S. is less safe today than it has been in my lifetime, and things are getting worse by the day.

The 2016 presidential election really matters.  It will determine whether or not we go the way of Europe.  What Europe is doing is insane.  I hope we don’t follow their lead.

I wish there was a perfect candidate in the race, but there isn’t.  Hillary Clinton is the less perfect of the options available.  We know what she stands for, and it’s not good.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
