Algemeiner—Britain’s National Student Union Elects ‘Open Racist’ as President; Jewish Groups in Uproar Over Antisemitic Past:

British Jewish student organizations are in an uproar following a decision on Wednesday by the UK’s National Union of Students (NUS) to elect a controversial president with a history of anti-Israel and antisemitic remarks, The Jewish Chronicle reported.

Malia Bouattia, originally from Algeria, has come under fire for her previous comments supporting terrorism against Israel and denouncing “mainstream Zionist led media outlets.” In 2014, while speaking at a “pro-resistance” event celebrating “Gaza and the Palestinian revolution,” Bouattia asserted that it is “problematic” to consider that “Palestine will be free” only by means of “non-violent protest” and bemoaned the fact that “resistance” is presented as terrorism.

She also expressed disappointment that some in the Palestinian camp reject the path of “armed struggle” for various reasons.

In a 2011 article co-written by Bouattia, the incoming NUS president referred to the University of Birmingham as a “Zionist outpost” with the “largest [Jewish Society] in the country” after taking part in Israeli Apartheid Week there.

SnyderTalk Comment:

The same sort of thing is taking place at U.S. colleges and universities.  Being anti-Israel/anti-Zionist is the rage.  It’s anti-Semitic to the core.

People who believe Yahweh should expect to see a lot more of this kind of thing in the days ahead.

1: ReutersPalestinian wounded in Jerusalem bus bombing dies, Hamas claims him:

A Palestinian militant from the occupied West Bank who was wounded when his bomb exploded on an Israeli commuter bus in Jerusalem on Monday has died, an Israeli hospital spokeswoman and a pro-Hamas website said on Wednesday.

A spokeswoman for the Jerusalem hospital where the wounded man was treated confirmed he had succumbed to his injuries. Israeli authorities have placed a gag order on the investigation and declined to release any details.

The pro-Hamas Palestinian Information Centre identified him as Abdel-Hamid Abu Srour from the Ayda refugee camp near Bethlehem and said he was a member of the Izz el-Deen Al-Qassam brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas militant Islamist group.

2: Iran Business PortalObama Seeks Meeting With Iranian President:

“President Obama asked to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in two secret letters sent in late March to both Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Rouhani,” according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI, which translated a Farsi-language report published Tuesday by a website affiliated with Iran’s Green movement.

Obama purportedly wrote in the correspondence “that Iran has a limited-time opportunity to cooperate with the U.S. in order to resolve the problems in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, and promised that if Iran agreed to a meeting between him and Rouhani, he would be willing to participate in any conference to this end,” according to MEMRI’s translation of the report.

3: The GuardianObama’s chilly reception in Saudi Arabia hints at mutual distrust:

Barack Obama arrived to a noticeably low-key reception in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday against a background of mutual irritation in a relationship tested by a turbulent Middle East, plummeting oil prices and economic and political uncertainty.

The US president was greeted at the airport by the governor of Riyadh, Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, and the event was not broadcast live on Saudi TV, as is routine with visiting heads of state – quickly generating talk of a snub.

SnyderTalk Comment:

The degree to which Obama has harmed the U.S. globally is becoming evident to anyone who is willing to look.  It’s not just a problem with Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu.

4: BloombergObama’s Brexit Intervention Makes Waves in U.K., Ripples in U.S.:

President Barack Obama will urge Britons on Friday to keep their country in the European Union, a rare intervention in the domestic politics of an ally that poses little risk to the president back home while irritating proponents of so-called Brexit in the United Kingdom.

In between lunch with Queen Elizabeth II and dinner with Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Obama is expected to weigh in on Brexit at a news conference with his British counterpart, Prime Minister David Cameron. There’s scant evidence that Americans are broadly aware of the debate in the U.K. or care about the outcome, and Brexit fans say they are unimpressed by the U.S. president’s intervention.

5: AllAfricaNigeria: No Currency Swap Deal With China – Govt:

The minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has disclosed that, contrary to reports, there is no currency swap agreement between Nigeria and China.

He made this disclosure to State House Correspondents yesterday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

SnyderTalk Comment:

Movement toward replacing the U.S. dollar as the global reserve currency takes many forms.  Currency swaps is one of them.

When the dollar is replaced, U.S. consumers will understand what that means.  It will be the biggest pocketbook issue that most of us will have seen.

6: ChronChina’s Xi moves to take more direct command over military:

Bolstering his status as China’s most powerful leader in decades, Chinese President Xi Jinping has assumed a more direct role as head of the country’s powerful armed forces with the new title of commander in chief of its Joint Operations Command Center, state media and analysts said Thursday.

Xi’s new position was revealed in news reports that featured prominently on national news broadcasts Wednesday and Thursday in which he appeared publicly for the first time in camouflage battle dress wearing the joint center’s insignia.

7: Malaya ChroniclesRussian-Chinese center for superconducting proton research set up in China:

A Russian-Chinese center for the research of superconducting protons has been set up in the Chinese city of Hefei with the participation of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (headquartered in Dubna, outside Moscow), the Xinhua news agency reported on Monday.

“China and Russia have been cooperating on nuclear fusion research for more than 30 years, and partnership between the two countries in this sphere has been constantly growing,” the news agency quoted the director of the Institute of Plasma Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences quoted its director, Kuang Guangli, as saying.

8: ReutersChina eyes deeper military ties with Afghanistan:

China wants to have deeper military ties with Afghanistan, including counter-terrorism intelligence cooperation and joint drills, a senior Chinese officer told a visiting Afghan envoy.

China is working with Pakistan and the United States to broker peace talks to end a Taliban insurgency that has raged for 15 years in Afghanistan, but last month the militants refused to take part.

The U.S.-led NATO mission ceased combat operations at the end of 2014, and has withdrawn most of its forces. China says it does not seek to fill a void left by their withdrawal.

9: Doron Ella and Oded Eran—China’s Deputy Prime Minister Visits Egypt, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority:

In her recent visit to Israel, Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Liu Yandong attended the opening of the second meeting of the China-Israel Joint Committee on Innovation and met with leading government officials. Liu and Netanyahu announced the start of talks over a free trade agreement between Israel and China; Liu stressed that since Israel is known for its innovative capabilities, it is important to promote cooperation between Israel and China, which recently began highlighting innovation-based development. A free trade agreement, once signed and put into effect, could double trade between the countries, which in 2015 amounted to $8 billion. According to China, Liu’s visit was intended to allow China to benefit from Israel’s capabilities, especially in the fields of innovation and technology. There is no doubt that China sees Israel more through the prism of Israel’s innovation capabilities than through the lens of China’s Silk Road initiative or the establishment of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

10: JEWSNEWSSO IT BEGINS: North Texas Mosque Shut Down for Funding Hamas…Muslims are Outraged:

A north Texas mosque was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in United States history. The judge found there was ample evidence that the mosque, the Islamic Association of North Texas, assisted the Holy Land Foundation in funding millions of dollars to a Palestinian military terrorist organization that has killed Israeli children.

SnyderTalk Comment:

This is very good news.  I hope it’s the first of more to come.

11: The TelegraphMerkel faces rebellion over prosecution of comedian accused of insulting Erdogan:

Angela Merkel is facing a government rebellion over her decision to allow a German comedian to be prosecuted for insulting the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

A senior minister is reportedly planning to put a bill before parliament to abolish Germany’s lese-majeste law before the case can even come to court.

SnyderTalk Comment:

The fact that Merkel didn’t condemn Erdogan’s dictatorial ways is telling.  Allowing prosecution of a private citizen, a comedian no less, for “insulting” the dictator is much worse.

Maybe Merkel should watch a few episodes of Saturday Night Live.

Erdogan is a Hitler in training.  He is a threat to the Turkish people, Europe, the Middle East, and the world.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
