The Progression of Perversity has Reached Critical Velocity

A Reuters article titled “U.S. court rules for Virginia student on transgender bathroom access” said this:

A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday ruled for a Virginia transgender student seeking access to the bathroom of his gender identity in a case that could impact the national bathroom wars playing out between gay rights activists and social conservatives.

The ruling by the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals sent back to a lower court a widely watched case weighing protections for transgender students under the 1972 Title IX Act, which prohibits sex-based discrimination by schools receiving federal funding.

Christians are making a big deal out of this case, but it’s just one more step in the progression of perversity that has been sweeping through our nation for decades.

It’s so bad now that “normal” people think it’s absurd to believe that someone shouldn’t be allowed to decide what his or her gender is.  Our courts have ruled on the issue.  You aren’t seen as “normal” if you don’t support the court’s decision.

The time for action on this issue passed a long time ago.  I’m not saying that we shouldn’t stand up to fight it, but I am saying that it happened because people who knew better or should have known better sat on their hands while the train was gaining momentum.

Critical velocity has been reached.  Stopping a runaway train is very difficult.

Actually, it’s not humanly possible.  “They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.” (Hosea 8: 7)  It’s payday.

A few days ago, a Facebook friend posted something about the gender identity issue.  It was a typical Facebook post.  Nothing special.

She’s a Christian, so I responded to her post by saying that rejecting Passover and substituting Easter in its place was worse from Yahweh’s perspective.

My comment elicited no response.

Passover is one example.  There are many others.  Christmas and Sun day Sabbath come to mind immediately.

All three are rejections of important events that Yahweh gave us specific commands about.  Substituting rituals for pagan deities in their place is an abomination.  Common sense should tell us that.

Try explaining to a Christian mother with young children that Easter is offensive to Yahweh and pay close attention to her response.  This is what you are likely to encounter:

  1. Neil is being judgmental: That’s absurd.  Telling people the truth isn’t judgmental.  From Yahweh’s perspective, it’s required.
  2. Neil doesn’t understand grace: Yahweh didn’t suffer on the cross, die physically, and take the penalty for our sins on Himself to save us so that we can reject His commands and engage in pagan rituals with impunity.  Believing that He did is ridiculous.
  3. Her eyes will glaze over, and she will look at you as though you are speaking a language that she can’t understand—Hebrew, for instance: Easter is part of her religious training.  She can’t imagine that something so fundamental to Christian orthodoxy can be so wrong.  In her world, it boils down to this: Neil is out in left field.  Wrong again.

Thoughtlessly, we have accepted so many lies for so long that we are blind to most of the perversity around us.  Then, something that’s seemingly obvious from a Christian perspective comes along, something like the gender identity issue, and we can’t understand why people don’t see how wrong it is.

Turning a blind eye to perversity invites more and worse perversity.  That’s what’s happening.

People who think that it can’t get any worse are wrong.  It can get a lot worse, and it will.

Imagine this: Christians gathering on Easter Sun day to ask Yahweh for revival.  Sadly, most Christians won’t grasp the irony.

Criticizing others for judging people is judging people.

What if they were discerning and commenting?

Something Yahweh never said: “Don’t tell them they are wrong because you might offend them.”

1: Iran Business PortalIran issues first progress report on nuclear deal | Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists:

On April 17, 2016, Iran’s Foreign Ministry presented its first progress report on implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The deal concluded last summer between Tehran and six world powers to scale back Iranian nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief (link in Persian). The Foreign Ministry plans to present such a report to parliament every quarter, with the ostensible goal of assessing headway on implementation. The first installment, though, while highlighting Tehran’s compliance with the JCPOA, also shows the government of President Hassan Rouhani, the moderate leader who championed negotiations, still trying to sell the deal at home.

The global average temperature during March was 2.2 degrees Fahrenheit above the 20th century average — the biggest deviation since records began in 1880.

The Little Ice Age lasted for about 500 years—from about 1350 A.D. to 1850 A.D.

Weather recordkeeping started in about 1880 A.D.

What happens to the global climate as earth comes out of an Ice Age?

Global temperatures rise.

From a geological time perspective, how long is 1880 to 2016?

In human time, it’s 136 years, but in geological time, it’s a nanosecond.

3: BloombergPutin Ally Says Russia Must Abandon `False Democracy’:

Russia must “stop playing false democracy” in order to combat a “hybrid war” waged against it by the U.S., the chief of the country’s powerful Investigative Committee said.

Russian authorities must abandon “pseudo-liberal values” and give a “tough” response to “political, economic, informational and legal” attacks by the U.S., Alexander Bastrykin said in an article in Kommersant-Vlast magazine Monday. Russia should emulate China by blocking access to foreign media through “censorship” of the Internet as “an effective barrier to this information war,” he said.

A&Q is a special series that inverts the classic Q&A, taking some of the most frequently posed solutions to pressing matters of policy and exploring their complexity.

The U.S. likes to think of itself as the world capital of start-ups. But America doesn’t lead the world in actually starting new businesses. By various measures, it’s behind Canada, Denmark, and Norway.

Rather, it is the global leader in venture capital: Nineteen of the top 20 world cities in per-capita venture capital investment are in the United States. There are a lot of countries with higher entrepreneurship rates, but American companies have an especially good chance to grow from small fry to global behemoth.

5: BloombergTrump and Sanders Have a Point About Trade With China:

As the presidential primaries land in New York Tuesday, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump have been hammering home their arguments that free trade–especially with China–has harmed a lot of ordinary Americans, even as it lowered prices for consumers. They have a point, according to research by three economists who studied what happened to the U.S. when imports from China soared.

A top Swedish government official is under fire for referring to the 9/11 attacks as “accidents” in a live TV interview Tuesday.

Environment Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Asa Romson, of the Green Party, made the comment while talking about fellow party member Mehmet Kaplan’s resignation as housing minister a day earlier.

Romson said when Kaplan was the chairman of a Muslim youth organization he faced difficult situations “like the Sept. 11 accidents and such.” Romson was talking on SVT’s show “Gomorron Sverige” (“Good Morning Sweden”), according to the Local.

The smartest thing that Gen. Eisenhower did was ordering people to take pictures of the extermination camps.  If he hadn’t done that, Holocaust deniers would seem sane today.

Wicked people lie until their lies are accepted as truth.  Eternal vigilance is required.

7: AlgemeinerDershowitz Decries Biden Attack on Netanyahu in J Street Speech as ‘Payback From White House’:

Vice President Joe Biden’s jabs at Israel’s prime minister during a speech Monday evening at a gathering for a left-wing Israel lobbying group amount to “payback from the White House,” retired Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz told The Algemeiner on Tuesday.

In an address delivered at J Street’s annual convention in Washington DC, Biden singled out Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for criticism, expressing his “overwhelming frustration” with the Israeli leader’s policies.

SnyderTalk Comment:

Obama and his people think they can tell lies with impunity.

There is a reason for that.  They have been doing it with impunity for almost 8 years.
