Israel is the Promised Land

World leaders are doing their best to force Israel to surrender land that Yahweh promised to give the descendants of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob/Israel and everyone who calls on the Name of Yahweh.

Palestinians won’t accept a Jewish Israel.  Many of them believe Jewish people should not be allowed to visit the Temple Mount.

Messianic Jews believe that the only solution to the problem is to honor Yahweh’s word.  They prefer the “1-state solution”.

We have a problem on our hands.  Who will we follow?

Does it matter?

You bet it does.

Yahweh’s Promises Concerning the Promised Land

When Abraham entered the Promised Land he was traveling with his nephew, Lot.  They were men of great wealth, and they had very large herds of animals.  Since the land could not support the herds of both men, Abraham suggested that they separate, and he told Lot to take the land he wanted.  Lot looked at the valley below the hills on which Jerusalem rests, and he saw that it was well watered and very fertile.  Thus, he took the valley for his possession, and Abraham willingly accepted the hilly region that includes Mount Moriah—the hill beside which Jerusalem was built.

After Abraham and Lot parted company, Yahweh made this promise to Abraham:

“Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever.  I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth, so that if anyone can number the dust of the earth, then your descendants can also be numbered.  Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you.” (Genesis 13: 14-17)

In Genesis 15: 18-21, Yahweh gave Abraham a more precise description of the Promised Land’s boundaries:

“To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt (the Nile River) as far as the great river Euphrates; the land of the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite.” (Genesis 15: 18-21)

Later, Yahweh told Abraham that he would become the father of many nations, and He confirmed that the Promised Land would belong to his descendants forever:

“For My part, this is My covenant with you: you will become the father of many nations.  And you are no longer to be called Abram; your name is to be Abraham, for I am making you father of many nations, and your issue will be kings.  And I shall maintain my covenant between Myself and you, and your descendants after you, generation after generation, as a covenant in perpetuity, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.  And to you and to your descendants after you, I shall give the country where you are now immigrants, the entire land of Canaan, to own in perpetuity.  And I will be their God.” (Genesis 17: 4-8)

Then Yahweh explained that even though Abraham would become the father of many nations, His covenant would pass through Isaac’s descendants:

“As regards your wife…Sarah….I shall bless her and moreover give you a son by her.  I shall bless her and she will become nations: kings of peoples will issue from her….Yes, your wife Sarah will bear you a son whom you must name Isaac.  And I shall maintain My covenant with him, a covenant in perpetuity, to be his God and the God of his descendants after him.  For Ishmael too I grant you your request.  I hereby bless him and will make him fruitful and exceedingly numerous.  He will be the father of twelve princes, and I shall make him into a great nation.  But my covenant I shall maintain with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear you….” (Genesis 17: 15-16 and 19-21)

A “covenant in perpetuity” is binding for all eternity.  That means the Promised Land belongs to Abraham’s descendants through Isaac forever.  In Genesis 26: 2-5, Yahweh confirmed His promise to Isaac:

“Do not go down to Egypt; stay in the land of which I shall tell you.  Sojourn in this land and I will be with you and bless you, for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham.  I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes and My Laws.” (Genesis 26: 2-5)

In Genesis 28: 13-15, Yahweh said that the Promised Land belongs to Abraham’s descendants through Jacob:

“I am Yahweh, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will give to you and your descendants.  Your descendants shall also be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread out to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed.  Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised.” (Genesis 28: 13-15)

Yahweh repeated this promise in Genesis 35: 10-12:

“You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name….I am God Almighty (El Shaddai); be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall come from you, and kings shall come forth from you.  The land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you, and I will give the land to your descendants after you.” (Genesis 35: 10-12)

Later, Yahweh told Moses that He would rescue the Jewish people from bondage in Egypt and bring them to the Promised Land, and He tied the promise to His Name:

“I am Yahweh, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage.  I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.  Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.  I will bring you to the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you for a permanent possession; I am Yahweh.” (Exodus 6: 6-8)

As the Children of Israel were preparing to leave Mount Sinai and go to the Promised Land, Yahweh told them He would send His Angel before them.  This Angel is the Angel of Yahweh who appeared to Moses in the burning bush, and He established Israel as a nation:

“Behold, I am going to send an Angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.  Be on your guard before Him and obey His Voice; do not be rebellious toward Him, for He will not pardon your transgression, since My Name is in Him.  But if you will truly obey His Voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.  For My Angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them.  You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds; but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their sacred pillars in pieces.  But you shall serve Yahweh your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst.” (Exodus 23: 20-25)

In Exodus 23: 27-31, Yahweh explained how His Angel would drive out the early inhabitants of the Promised Land, and He gave another description of its boundaries:

“I will send My terror ahead of you, and throw into confusion all the people among whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.  I will send hornets ahead of you that they may drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites before you.  I will not drive them out before you in a single year, that the land may not become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you.  I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land.  I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines (i.e., the Mediterranean Sea), and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you will drive them out before you.” (Exodus 23: 27-31)

What Do Palestinians Say?

In an article titled “Palestinians: We Will Not Accept a Jewish Israel”, Khaled Abu Toameh said:

Israel as a Jewish state remains anathema to the Palestinian community. This is a top-down attitude, communicated on a constant basis by Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas.

The Palestinian refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state is based on the argument that such a move would mean giving up the “right of return” for millions of “refugees” into Israel. This refusal is also based on the continued denial of any historic Jewish connection to the land.

In recent weeks, the PA president has once again reiterated his strong opposition to recognizing Israel as a Jewish state.

The Palestinian refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state is one of the main obstacles to peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

Settlement construction complaints are nothing more than a Palestinian Authority smokescreen.

Another article titled “Netanyahu: Probe Israeli Arab MK’s call to keep Jews off Temple Mount for incitement” explains that some Palestinians in high places believe Jewish people should not be allowed to visit the Temple Mount—the holiest site in the world to believers, both Jews and Gentiles:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday called for an examination into whether comments made this week by Israeli Arab MK Jamal Zahalka (Joint List) about keeping Jews off the Temple Mount constitute incitement.

The premier requested that Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit oversee the probe.

Following Netanyahu’s call, Zahalka shot back at the prime minister saying his call was “baseless.”

What Do Messianic Jews Say?

In an article titled “Messianic Jewish group lobbying for ‘1-state solution’”, Leo Hohmann said:

The Messianic Jewish movement has opened a lobbying office in Washington, D.C., that will push the U.S. government to support Israel and ditch the so-called “two-state solution” that has been promoted by Republican and Democrat administrations for decades.

The Alliance for Israel Advocacy will take a different approach to lobbying Congress than any other organization, says the man heading up the effort.

Paul Liberman, executive director of AIA, is leader of Ohav Shalom Messianic Congregation in Palm Springs, California, and the former publisher of the Messianic Times. He formerly worked as the U.S. Department of Commerce’s director of congressional relations under Presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter and has been active in Republican politics since that time.

Messianic Jews believe that Jesus Christ is the Jewish Messiah and represent a small but unique segment of evangelical Christianity.

Mystical death curses, visions of Messiah, an important world political figure under threat, religious leaders in shock, a cryptic kabbalistic death note … The story is shocking – the story is true – the story is still unfolding … in “The Rabbi Who Found the Messiah.”

Liberman told WND the new lobbying arm of the Messianic Jewish movement will steer members of Congress and others in Washington to the Bible as the foundational document for Israel’s right to exist.

“We’re a little different in that we advocate for Israel using the Old Testament Scriptures and prophecies to justify and favor Israel. For all these years since the inception of the state of Israel and before, Israel has always had its case made by AIPAC and others that it’s a democracy, that it’s peaceful, a reliable ally and various other secular reasons,” said Liberman. “And, therefore, Israel is forced into defensive arguments saying, ‘Leave us alone, we’re not harming anybody, it’s OK,’ and amazingly over all these decades we have not been using the biggest club in the bag, which is the Scriptures.”

What Do I Say?

Yahweh will never go back on His Word.  His promises are certain.

I would not want to stand in Yahweh’s way as He fulfills His promises.

Messianic Jews got it right.  They are on solid ground.

I would love to see the looks on Palestinian leaders’ faces when Yahweh tells them how things are going to be.

Maybe I will.  I hope so.

They won’t like what Yahweh tells them.  Their regrets will last for eternity.

They won’t be chanting “Allahu Akbar” when that day comes.

That’s a promise.

1: Jerusalem PostIsraeli Arab MK to Palestinians: We must keep Jews off Temple Mount ‘in any way possible’:

A day after he returned from a two-month suspension from the Knesset, Israeli Arab MK Jamal Zahalka (Joint List) made a call to the Palestinians to prevent Jews from visiting the Temple Mount complex ” in any way possible.”

“In light of the daily increase of (Jewish) ascent to the Aksa Mosque, it is up to us to stop it in any way possible,” he told the Palestinian site Dunya al-Watan on Wednesday, ahead of next week’s Passover holiday in which Jews flock to Jerusalem’s holy sites.

SnyderTalk Comment:

This is a problem that only Yahweh can solve.  Maranatha.

2: New York TimesBernie Sanders Campaign Suspends Jewish Outreach Coordinator for Vulgar Remarks About Netanyahu:

The Sanders campaign’s announcement on Tuesday that Simone Zimmerman would be its national Jewish outreach coordinator delighted her fellow left-wing Jewish political activists and encouraged their belief that public expressions of disgust with the Israeli government had edged into the acceptable mainstream of Democratic politics.

They might have been getting ahead of themselves.

On Thursday, Senator Bernie Sanders’s campaign suspended Ms. Zimmerman, 25, after revelations that she had used vulgarities in Facebook posts about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and Hillary Clinton. The suspension, hours before a Democratic presidential debate in Brooklyn, made for an embarrassing misstep for Mr. Sanders, a secular Jew who, despite having lived briefly in Israel and being the most successful candidate of his faith in American history, is being pummeled by Mrs. Clinton among Jewish voters.

SnyderTalk Comment:

This is what Simone Zimmerman posted on Facebook last March:

“Bibi Netanyahu is an arrogant, deceptive, cynical, manipulative asshole… Fuck you, Bibi, for daring to insist that you legitimately represent even a fraction of Jews in this world.”

Memo to Sanders: Bibi is Prime Minister of Israel, not head of the world’s Jewish population, and proper vetting always helps.

Memo to American Jews: Bibi has your back even if you don’t have his.

3: RTMoscow calls on West to force Turkey allow intl observers at its ‘porous’ border with Syria:

The ‘porous’ Turkey-Syria border facilitates the actions of terrorists and flow of smuggled goods, Russia’s foreign minister said, adding that the only way to stop the process is to invite international observers.

SnyderTalk Comment:

That’s a good idea.  Erdogan can’t be trusted.  It’s obvious to anyone who is open and honest.

4: Prof. Louis René Beres—A time for truth: Israel, “Palestine” and the US elections:

“Our enemy is the unphilosophical spirit which knows nothing, and wants to know nothing, of truth.” (Karl Jaspers, Reason and Anti-Reason in our Time (1952)

At some point, even our flagrantly unphilosophical American presidential contest will need to include some tangible substance…Our American presidential aspirants must finally understand, and subsequently communicate unhesitatingly, that there exists an immutable inequality of objectives between Israel and its enemies. In essence, for Palestinian insurgents, now almost exclusively animated by Jihadist argument, any conflict with Israel is inevitably “zero-sum,” that is, an “all or nothing” contest. By definition, this is an unchanging struggle that precludes all compromise…

A fundamental inequality between Israel and its Palestinian “peace partners” is evident in absolutely all manifestations of the Middle East Peace Process .On the Palestinian side, Oslo Agreement and “Road Map” expectations have never represented anything more than a presumptively cost-effective method of dismantling Israel. On the Israeli side, these same expectations have somehow been taken as a painful but still indispensable way to avert even greater explosions of war and terror. While Israelis have been willing to accept some form of “two-State Solution,” the Palestinians see only one-state in this area, a state that fully replaces Israel (“Occupied Palestine”) with Palestine…“In Washington, our American presidential candidates will soon need to recognize and effectively counter such dangerous pretense.

5: Algemeiner—Amb. John Bolton: US, Israel Missed Major Opportunities to Take Out Iran’s Nuclear Capabilities:

The US and Israel “missed a huge range of opportunities over the last 10 years” to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities, a former US Ambassador to the UN told The Algemeiner Thursday evening.

Speaking on the relationship between the US and Israel during a forum sponsored by the Israel Air Force Center Foundation in New York alongside Israel Air Force Brig. Gen. Yaron Rosen, diplomat John Bolton said, “The two countries sort of look at each other and say, ‘Well, why don’t you do it first.’ The fact is a US strike could be more effective because we’ve got better capabilities.”

Bolton — who also serves as chairman of the conservative think-tank the Gatestone Institute — told The Algemeiner that the situation with Iran is becoming increasingly perilous. “I didn’t have any trouble before advocating a strike because I view this nuclear threat as extremely grave,” he said. He went on to explain that the next president of the US will face a “very dangerous” period wherein they must “do the analysis that’s required to come to a decision to use force.”

“Nobody should be under any illusions that this deal solves anything,” Bolton said.

SnyderTalk Comment:

Keep your eyes on Israel.

Also, keep your eyes on Turkey, Russia, Iran, and China.  I call them the TRIC nations.  It’s an accurate acronym.
