Lawrence A. Franklin—Why Are Christians Leaving the Holy Land?:

No one of good will, especially Catholics, wants to accuse a prominent member of his faith of being knowingly untruthful. The truth rarely is found in the Palestinian public narrative. But in case of the latest repetition of Father Fouad Twal, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, falsely blaming Israel for the ongoing spate of Palestinian violence against Israeli civilians, it appears certain from his consistent record of non-nuanced criticism of Israel, that he is motivated by a political bias.

Twal proclaimed that Israel’s alleged “occupation” of “Arab Palestine” is the cause of the murderous violence visited on Israeli civilians by Arab attackers — apparently “forgetting” that the Jews have lived in the region for nearly 4000 years. He was also apparently forgetting that the leaders of the Palestinian Authority (PA) have been glorifying such “acts of resistance” since the autumn of 2014. How can Twal ignore the reality that Palestinian media has been glorifying these knife attacks as “glorious feats.” In Palestinian schools, in fact, the attackers are hailed as heroes.

Outright lies are also part of the PA and Hamas propaganda campaigns. Palestinian Authority leader Mahmud Abbas, for instance, has claimed that a Palestinian boy, who was hit by a car after stabbing an Israeli child, was executed by Israeli troops, when it was well known that the perpetrator was alive and being cared for in an Israeli hospital.

SnyderTalk Comment: Simply put, Christians are fleeing Muslim persecution.  So are Muslims.  They are fleeing Syria by the millions.

That tells us something I’ve been saying all along.  Islam is the problem.

BBCPanama Papers: Mossack Fonseca leak reveals elite’s tax havens:

A huge leak of confidential documents has revealed how the rich and powerful use tax havens to hide their wealth.

Eleven million documents were leaked from one of the world’s most secretive companies, Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca.

They show how Mossack Fonseca has helped clients launder money, dodge sanctions and evade tax.

The company says it has operated beyond reproach for 40 years and has never been charged with criminal wrong-doing.

The documents show links to 72 current or former heads of state in the data, including dictators accused of looting their own countries.

Gerard Ryle, director of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), said the documents covered the day-to-day business at Mossack Fonseca over the past 40 years.

“I think the leak will prove to be probably the biggest blow the offshore world has ever taken because of the extent of the documents,” he said.

Panama Papers – tax havens of the rich and powerful exposed

  • Eleven million documents held by the Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca have been passed to German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung, which then shared them with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. BBC Panorama is among 107 media organisations – including UK newspaper the Guardian– in 78 countries which have been analysing the documents. The BBC doesn’t know the identity of the source

  • Mossack Fonseca says it has operated beyond reproach for 40 years and never been accused or charged with criminal wrong-doing
  • Tricks of the trade: How assets are hidden and taxes evaded

SnyderTalk Comment: This could turn into the biggest show since Wikileaks.

SnyderTalk Comment: This Muslim man got it right. He sounds a lot like the Muslims I taught at UVA, with one notable exception–a Palestinian from Hebron.

I think the man in the video and my former students are not far from Yahweh’s kingdom. The next step on their journey is to realize that they aren’t really Muslims.

Like Christianity, Islam is faith-based.   You can’t be born into either faith because babies can’t make those choices.

With no exceptions, in Christians’ lives, there is a moment in time when they were saved, when they became true believers.  That involves faith in Yahweh and obedience to Him. True believers manifest both.

The same is true for Muslims.  There must be a precise moment when they dedicated their lives to Allah with all that entails.  That’s where faith and obedience come in.  If a person can’t pinpoint that moment, then he or she isn’t a Muslim.

It’s not semantics, and it’s not just a pithy phrase.  It’s the truth.

That’s why I keep saying that ordinary peaceful Muslims aren’t really Muslims and that Islamists are. In reality, ordinary peaceful Muslims are unbelievers. That’s the truth, too, and Islamists know it.

Why do you think Islamists persecute ordinary peaceful Muslims?

Jewish people are different because they are born Jewish.  It’s based on lineage. Abraham to Isaac to Jacob/Israel, and so on.

Judaism, the religion, is faith-based.  Like anyone else, Jewish people must decide if they have faith in Yahweh and if they are willing to follow Him.

Christianity is Judaic in every sense. The fact that Judaism has been hijacked by people who have substituted man-made logic for Yahweh’s commands doesn’t change that fact.

This problem predates the Messiah’s incarnation.  See Matthew chapter 23.  It provides all the evidence you need.  Also, see Ezekiel chapter 34.  In fact, most of the prophets said the same thing.

In due course, Yahweh will straighten out that problem.

1: Jerusalem PostErdogan: Anti-Semitism is a crime, Islamophobia should be too:

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Erdogan in an interview with CNN ensured that Jewish citizens living in Turkey will be safe, and slammed European countries for not heeding his terror warnings.

When asked by CNN correspondent Christine Amanpour about the heightened threat towards Jews in Turkey, Erdogan firmly replied: “We have a very significant number of Jewish citizens and they have always been safe and secure where they are in Turkey.”

He continued: “They have their own synagogues and schools and media outlets, which have always been secure and safe. Time to time I get together with the rabbis, with religious leaders, leaders of congregations and I talk to them, and wherever a need arises we do everything we can to meet those needs.”

On the alarming trend of anti-Semitism in Turkey and across Europe, Erdogan said: “I am one of the first political leaders officially declaring that anti-Semitism is a crime,” he said, adding “I expect an official declaration that Islamophobia is a crime against humanity as well. Islamophobia emerged from the Western countries and this is a challenge that we all together need to surmount.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Erdogan needs to take lying lessons from Obama.  He’s not very good at it.  He’s too transparent.

How many Jewish people have made blowing up the world their reason for being?  None that I’m aware of.  That’s the problem we have with Islam.

It’s not a phobia to be fearful of dangerous human beings who would rather die in an explosive fashion than anything else.  It’s just common sense.

With each passing day, Erdogan reminds me more and more of Palestinian leaders.  All of them could use lying lessons.

Obama’s their man.  He’ll be available in a few months.

2: Uzay Bulut—Turkey: The Business of Refugee Smuggling, Sex Trafficking:

On International Women’s Day, March 8, Turkish news outlets covered the tragic life and early death of a Syrian child bride.

Last August, in Aleppo, Mafe Zafur, 15, married her cousin Ibrahim Zafur in an Islamic marriage. The couple moved to Turkey, but the marriage ended after six months, when her husband abruptly threw out of their home. With nowhere to sleep, Mafe found shelter with her brother, 19, and another cousin, 14, in an abandoned truck.

On 8 March, Mafe killed herself, reportedly with a shotgun. Her only possession, found in her pocket, was her handwritten marriage certificate.

Mafe Zafur is only one of many young Syrians who have been victims of child marriage. Human rights groups report even greater abuse that gangs are perpetrating against the approximately three million Syrians who have fled to Turkey.

SnyderTalk Comment: This makes you wonder about the wisdom of sending the “refugees” to Turkey.

As I said, Islam is the problem, and it’s not Islamophobic or anti-Christian to say so.

I wish unbelievers would stop telling believers what it means to be a good Christian.

3: Times of IsraelIsrael’s military edge in peril as weapons flood region, general warns:

A top Israel Air Force general warned that Israel may be losing its military edge amid a growing arms race in the Middle East, during a conference in Tel Aviv on Sunday.

Brig. Gen. Tal Kalman, chief of staff of the air force, warned that weapons flowing into the region could shift the balance of power away from Israel, hinting at growing Iranian hegemony without naming the country.

“There is the potential for the erosion of the IDF and IAF’s qualitative edge,” Kalman warned, alluding to a US commitment to make sure Israel is better equipped militarily than its neighbors.

Kalman called the air force the “dominant and central figure” in successfully defending Israel against the threats facing it, but warned that could change.

SnyderTalk Comment: The tiny Jewish state is surrounded by hundreds of millions of Arab Muslims many of whom think Israel should not exist.  It’s a serious problem, and it will continue to be a problem until Yahweh returns.

4: Dan Williams—Abbas Says He’s Working to Curb Palestinian Attacks:

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told Israel’s Channel 2 TV on Thursday he was working to stop Palestinian knife attacks. “Our security forces go into the schools to search pupils’ bags and see if they have knives. You don’t know this,” he said. “In one school, we found 70 boys and girls who were carrying knives. We took the knives and spoke to them and said: ‘This is a mistake. We do not want you to kill and be killed. We want you to live, and for the other side to live as well.'”

Snyder Talk Comment: Mahmoud Abbas is hell-bent on Israel’s destruction.  He will say anything.

5: Washington PostIn a revealing interview, Trump predicts a ‘massive recession’ but intends to eliminate the national debt in 8 years:

Donald Trump said in an interview that economic conditions are so perilous that the country is headed for a “very massive recession” and that “it’s a terrible time right now” to invest in the stock market, embracing a distinctly gloomy view of the economy that counters mainstream economic forecasts.

The New York billionaire dismissed concern that his comments — which are exceedingly unusual, if not unprecedented, for a major party front-runner — could potentially affect financial markets.

“I know the Wall Street people probably better than anybody knows them,” said Trump, who has misfired on such predictions in the past. “I don’t need them.”

SnyderTalk Comment: That’s an interesting prediction.

We are heading for serious economic trouble, and debt is a primary culprit.  But it’s not just national debt.  It’s student loan debt, auto debt, credit card debt, etc.  In other words, it’s debt, period!

We also have an unsustainable welfare state and all that it implies.   The two problems are related.

Bottom line: renegotiating trade deals is not THE solution.  I wish it was that simple.

Those Wall Street people that Trump says he doesn’t need are important to him and to us.  They are the world’s bankers whether we like it or not.

6: Ryan Mauro—Do Radicalized Islamic Communities Exist in the US?:

GOP presidential candidate Senator Ted Cruz’s call for patrolling of Muslim communities with signs of extremism is being bashed as pandering to anti-Muslim voters, with critics saying there aren’t even Islamist communities in the U.S. to begin with.

They are wrong. They exist — and newly-published documents show that they’ve boasted of enforcing Islamic Sharia law, even going so far as to whip children.

Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a Pakistani militant group that has rebranded itself as Muslims of the Americas, says it has 22 “Islamic villages” in the U.S. Its “Islamberg” headquarters in New York is the most well-known.

The Clarion Project identified one village in Texas in 2014 and the group mentioned others, including one in Alaska during a frivolous lawsuit it filed against a prominent critic.

Fuqra’s 1994 book, Target Islam: Exposing the Malicious Conspiracy of the Zionists Against the World of Islam and Prominent Muslim Leaders, explains that its establishment of “villages” in the U.S. since 1980 is part of a jihad against a Satanic-Jewish-Communist conspiracy that puppeteers the U.S. government.

They have a cultish devotion to their extremist leader in Pakistan, Sheikh Gilani, who they believe is in constant contact with Allah and the Prophet Mohammed and a miracle worker chosen by Allah to lead Islam to victory.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
