Giulio Meotti—France: Criticize Islam and Live under Police Protection:

“You are sentenced to death. It’s just a matter of time.” This message, in Arabic, was sent by Islamists to Laurence Marchand-Taillade, National Secretary of the Parti Radical de Gauche (Radical Party of the Left). She now lives under the protection of the French police.

Marchand-Taillade forced the Muslim Brotherhood to withdraw, under pressure from France’s Interior Ministry, its invitation of three Islamic fundamentalists to a conference in Lille. The Islamists in question were the Syrian Mohamed Rateb al Nabulsi, the Moroccan Abouzaid al Mokrie and the Saudi Abdullah Salah Sana’an, who deem that the penalty for homosexuality is death, that the international coalition against the Islamic State is “infidel,” that Jews “destroy the nations” and that only religious music is permitted.

Laurence Marchand-Taillade published an article in Le Figaro in which she called for the ban of these Islamists with their “anti-Semitic and pro-jihadist message.”

In the magazine Marianne, Marchand-Taillade then penned, along with the French-Algerian journalist Mohamed Sifaoui, an article calling for the resignation of the leaders of the Observatory of Secularism.

“I am the president of an association that supports secularism in the Val-d’Oise” said Marchand-Taillade to me in an interview,

“and for years, I observed unreasonable sacrifices and compromises from the National Observatory of Secularism, which has encouraged radical communitarianism by participating to forums such as ‘We Are United,’ with the rapper Médine, who has called for the ‘crucifixion of the secularists,’ the ‘Collective against Islamophobia’ and Nabil Ennasri, a Muslim Brother from Qatar. The president of the Observatory of Secularism, Jean Louis Bianco, gave credit to these Salafist organizations at war with our values.

“Since the first months of 2014, I started also to report to the authorities of the arrival of imams such as Nader Abou Anas, who justifies marital rape, and Hatim Abu Abdillah, who promises a ‘cruel punishment’ for women. Then I went to Lille, on February 6 and 7, where Tariq Ramadan and others were indoctrinating our youths” Since then, her life has not been the same.

SnyderTalk Comment: Think it can’t happen here?  Think again.

See “Moderate “European” Islam: Stemming Terror with Band Aids”:

“Last week Austria ordered the first foreign-funded imam to be expelled when his visa expires. The decision was made under the new provisions of an anti-radicalization law, which Austria passed one year ago under considerable controversy. The main aim of the law is to counter extremism by requiring imams to speak German, and to prohibit foreign funding for mosques, imams and Muslim organizations in Austria. It also stresses that Austrian law must take precedence over Islamic sharia law for Muslims living in the country.”

1: Burak Bekdil—Turkey’s “Fall and Fall”:

Less than a decade ago, many Western statesmen and pundits were racing ahead to praise Turkey’s Islamist leaders as “post-modern, democratic, reformist, pro-European Union Islamists” who could play the role model for less democratic Muslim nations in the Middle East. It was “The Rise and Rise of Turkey,” as Patrick Seale put it in the New York Times in 2009.

In reality, the “post-modern Islamists” were just Islamists gift-wrapped in a nicer package. Today, Turks are paying a heavy price for the neo-Ottoman, revisionist, miscalculated strategic vision of their leaders.

In July, a Turkish-Kurdish suicide bomber murdered more than 30 pro-Kurdish activists in a small town along Turkey’s border with Syria. Three months later, jihadist suicide bombers murdered more than 100 pro-peace activists in the heart of Ankara, in the worst single act of terror in Turkish history. The Turkish government manipulatively put the blame on a “cocktail” group of terrorists, including Kurds. In January, jihadists murdered 10 German tourists in Istanbul in another suicide bomb attack.

SnyderTalk Comment: This is Erdogan’s Turkey.  He’s Obama’s friend.  I’ll leave it at that.

2: AlgemeinerIran Expert: Election Results Signify Victory of ‘Bad Over Worse’:

Because the Iranian elections were engineered prior to the day when they actually took place, the choice for voters was extremely limited, an expert on the subject told The Algemeiner on Sunday.

Pooya Dayanim, the California-based president of the Iranian Jewish Public Affairs Committee (IJPAC), was responding to the results of Friday’s elections for the Majlis (parliament) and Assembly of Experts, which are being touted in Western media outlets as a “victory for the reformists.”

Dayanim, an Iranian Jew who has lived in the United States for the past 31 years, explained to The Algemeiner that the two elections have to be broken down and analyzed separately.

“Those for the parliament can be construed as a victory for more pragmatic-minded candidates. However, even they have carefully not characterized themselves as reformists. Instead, they call themselves pragmatists or independents,” he said. “Furthermore, you have to realize that of the 3,000 candidates who applied to run for the 290-seat parliament, only 30 were approved by the Council of Guardians; the rest were disqualified for not possessing the necessary revolutionary credentials.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Bad over worse is improvement.  Change is slow.

We need a president who understands what’s taking place in the world and is willing to do something about it.  Hillary Clinton is an older, heavier version of Obama who has a screechy voice and wears pants suits.

Clinton’s gender is the only thing going for her.  Obama’s race was the only thing going for him.

We’ve been down that road.  We can’t afford another Affirmative Action president.

See “Iran’s internal strife”.  The Islamic Republic isn’t Shangri-La.  The Iranian people have been trying to shed their Islamist masters throughout Obama’s presidency.  He has done nothing to assist them. Instead, he has helped their masters.

Obama is one sick puppy.

3: Jerusalem PostAs ceasefire mostly holds in Syria, Netanyahu says Israel won’t tolerate terror front on Golan:

Netanyahu welcomed the ceasefire: “Anything that will stop the horrible slaughter there is important.”

Israel will not allow Assad’s allies— specifically Iran and its Lebanese proxy, Hezbollah – to open a war front against the Jewish state on the Golan Heights, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday.

“We will not agree to establishing a second terrorist front on the Golan. Those were the redlines that Israel set, and they remain Israel’s redlines,” Netanyahu said at the start of Sunday’s weekly cabinet meeting.

“We welcome efforts to achieve a stable, long-term, real cease-fire in Syria,” the prime minister said. “Anything that will stop the horrible slaughter there is important, first of all from a humanitarian perspective.”

At the same time, he said, “it must be clear that any agreement in Syria must include ending Iranian aggression against Israel from Syrian territory.”

SnyderTalk Comment: The Iran-Syria-Hezbollah axis is a threat to Israel’s survival.  It must be dealt with.

Russia and China are involved.  They are playing both ends from the middle.  The U.S. is sitting on the sidelines for all practical purposes.

Netanyahu is correct.  The Golan Heights is strategically important and must be protected.

4: Times of IsraelPlayground at Beit El settlement comes under sniper fire:

A children’s playground at the West Bank settlement of Beit El was hit by sniper fire Saturday night. No one was injured in the attack.

According to Channel 10 television, the gunfire is believed to have come from the nearby Palestinian refugee camp of Jalazoun. The IDF launched a search in an effort to track down those responsible.

The incident came a day after a Palestinian teenager was shot dead as he tried to stab Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint close to the settlement. Palestinian sources later said that the youth had American citizenship, and named him as 17-year-old as Mahmoud Muhammad Shaalan, a resident of the village of Deir Daboun, north of Ramallah.

SnyderTalk Comment: This is how Palestinians operate.  How long will ignorant donors ignore reality?

Until the end, I’m afraid.

5: Washington PostThe Republican Party’s implosion over Donald Trump’s candidacy has arrived:

The implosion over Donald Trump’s candidacy that Republicans had hoped to avoid arrived so virulently this weekend that many party leaders vowed never to back the billionaire and openly questioned whether the GOP could come together this election year.

At a moment when Republicans had hoped to begin taking on Hillary Clinton — who is seemingly on her way to wrapping up the Democratic nomination — the GOP has instead become consumed by a crisis over its identity and core values that is almost certain to last through the July party convention, if not the rest of the year.

A campaign full of racial overtones and petty, R-rated put-downs grew even uglier Sunday after Trump declined repeatedly in a CNN interview to repudiate the endorsement of him by David Duke, a former grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. Trump had disavowed Duke at a news conference on Friday, but he stammered when asked about Duke on Sunday.

SnyderTalk Comment: 2016 will be an interesting election year to say the least.  I’ve never seen anything like it.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
