Jerusalem Post—Iran offers financial reward for families of potential Palestinian ‘intifada martyrs’:

The Islamic Republic of Iran announced on Wednesday its support for the “Jerusalem intifada” that Israel has been witnessing for the past five months, declaring that it would give financial rewards to families of Palestinian terrorists.

Speaking at a press conference in Beirut on Wednesday, with the participation of several leaders of Palestinian factions, Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Fathali, said: “Continuing Iran’s support for the oppressed Palestinian people, Iran announces the provision of financial aid to families of Palestinian martyrs who were killed in the “Jerusalem intifada.”

According to the ambassador, every family of a martyr will receive $7,000, while a family whose home was demolished by the IDF will receive $30,000. The aid will be conveyed through the Palestinian branch of the Shahid Institution, which was established in Iran in 1992.

Fathali called on the Arab Muslim nation to unite around the central Palestinian issue and said that “the martyrs’ blood will release the entire Palestine, from the river to the sea.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Iran is predominantly Persian, but her leaders behave like Arabs.  By championing “Palestinian martyrs”, they have joined themselves at the hip with Yahweh’s avowed enemies.

Iran’s immediate goal is regional hegemony in the Middle East.  Longer term, Iranian leaders have their eyes on a bigger prize, global dominance of a Muslim caliphate.

As I have said before, it’s Islam vs. the world.  Iran is a key player, but leaders in other countries are vying for position.  Turkey’s President Erdogan is one of them.

All of this is playing out in front of us.  We need to be on the alert.

The Messiah explained it this way:

“Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come. It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert. Therefore, be on the alert—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—in case he should come suddenly and find you asleep. What I say to you I say to all, ‘Be on the alert!’” (Mark 13: 33-37)

That’s what SnyderTalk is all about.

13--Perspectives 2

1: CNNEgypt’s President links Russian plane crash to terrorism:

Egypt’s President has publicly linked terrorism to the downing of a Russian passenger jet over Sinai last year – reportedly for the first time.

For months, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi had resisted the notion of terror involvement, although ISIS claimed responsibility, and Russian investigators said there had been a bomb on board the plane. In a speech on Wednesday, he alluded to a connection.

“Has the confrontation and terrorism ended? No, not yet. Whoever downed that plane, what did he want?” el-Sisi said at a government conference. “Just to hit tourism? No. To hit relations. To hit relations with Russia, hit relations with Italy.”

SnyderTalk Comment: With each passing day, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for political leaders to deny reality.  Radical Islam is a threat to all of us, and it’s growing like an aggressive cancer.  Political leaders globally must deal with it.

The first step in the process is to admit that we have a problem.  The second step is to identify the culprits.  That’s something Barack Obama hasn’t been willing to do.

The next president of the United States can’t bury his or her head in the sand and spout out platitudes about “ordinary peaceful Muslims”.  Our enemy is neither ordinary nor peaceful, but they are Muslims.

The third step is to take coordinated action.  Radical Islam isn’t a country.  It’s a malignant movement, a cause, a way of thinking.  It has infiltrated every country on the planet.  That’s why coordinated action is a must.

By virtue of the fact that a coordinated response is needed, radical Islam is playing an important part in the emergence of global government.  That’s worth thinking about.

2: Yahoo FinanceBehind the scenes, an epic showdown between Apple and the feds:

Apple (AAPL) and the U.S. government have been sniping at each other in a series of carefully released court filings and public statements over how far the tech giant should go to help law enforcement catch bad guys. But there seems to be a far bigger battle going on than either side has acknowledged.

In California, the FBI is trying to use legal motions and public pressure to force Apple to write new software that would allow the feds to crack into an iPhone used by one of the shooters in last December’s mass murder in San Bernardino. In New York, a different set of prosecutors has been seeking a similar outcome from Apple in a case involving the iPhone used by a convicted drug dealer. Intriguing details of both cases have slipped out, but a broader examination of these legal maneuvers suggests that a climactic legal battle has been brewing behind the scenes, with consequences that could be momentous. Apple and the Justice Department also seem to deeply distrust each other, with more acrimony in closed courtrooms than has been evident in public statements.

SnyderTalk Comment: See “Apple is working to make iPhones even tougher to hack into”.

This is a complicated issue.  The government has a legitimate need for the information in the iPhone that belonged to one of the San Bernardino terrorists, and Apple has a legitimate need to secure the data of people who purchase iPhones.

Cybersecurity is becoming more important.  We need for companies like Apple to make it safe for us to do business online.  We also need for the government to gather intelligence so they can protect us from terrorist attacks.

Those two imperatives are conflicting.  A case like this one was bound to come sooner or later.

I’m glad it’s finally here.  Ignoring all the hype, the best course of action for the time being is to let it play out in the courts.

The government should hold fast to its position.  Apple should do likewise.  Eventually, they will present their arguments before the Supreme Court, and the justices will make a ruling.

But the Supreme Court is not where the ultimate decision should be made.  This is a political issue.  It must be addressed in Congress.  That’s where the nuanced balance between our security and privacy needs should to be articulated.

Switching gears, with the death of Antonin Scalia, there is an opening on the Supreme Court.  Now would be a good time to do something extraordinary.  It’s time to consider appointing a non-lawyer to the highest court in the land.

More than anything else, common sense is needed in the Supreme Court.  We need a business person on the court, someone who understands the ramifications of government policies on everyday people in the real world.  Because of the increasing importance of healthcare, we also need a medical person on the court.

Now would be a good time to consider appointing someone with those qualifications to the Supreme Court.

3: RT‘No Plan B for Syrian settlement’ – Russian Foreign Ministry:

Moscow is not discussing any alternative plans for a political settlement in Syria, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has said. The Russian-American peace initiative on Syria is going to be formalized through a UN Security Council resolution.

“We’re perplexed by our Western partners, the US included, mentioning the existence of some kind of ‘Plan B,’ Nothing is known on that one, we are considering no alternative plans,” Bognanov told the ‘Middle East: From violence to security’ conference in Moscow.

SnyderTalk Comment: I agree with Mikhail Bogdanov.  There is no room for middle ground, no “plan B” as it were.

Radical Islam must be defeated wherever it exists.  Syria is the epicenter of the fight right now, but Iraq and Libya are not far behind.  All of Europe is emerging as a battleground.  Eventually, every country will come into play.

Barack Obama had more than 7 years to demonstrate leadership, but he chose to promote Islam instead.  Like every other country on the planet, Russia has a problem that high-minded clichés can’t solve.

This is a fight between right and wrong, good and evil.  It’s not about liberal and conservative political agendas, and it’s not about patriotism.  It’s about life and death.

It’s time to lead, follow, or get out of the way.

4: Jakarta PostAustralia warns of “advanced stage” terrorist attack plans in Indonesia:

Travelers in Indonesia should be aware of possible “advanced stage” terrorist plans in the nation,  reads a statement from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) released on Thursday.

The Australian government advised its citizens to exercise a high degree of caution in Indonesia, including in the country’s famous tourist destination Bali due to the high threat of terrorist attacks.

“Recent indications suggest that terrorists may be in the advanced stages of preparing attacks in Indonesia,” DFAT said in a statement published on smartraveller.gov.au on Thursday.

DFAT also urged Australians traveling in Indonesia to prioritize their personal safety and be particularly vigilant at places of worship and during significant holidays.

“An attack could occur anywhere at any time,” the statement says.

SnyderTalk Comment: Indonesia has roughly 255,000,000 people.  Almost 90% of them are Muslims.

Almost 13% of the world’s Muslims live in Indonesia.  Pakistan and India each have about 11% of the world’s Muslim population.  Bangladesh has about 9% of the world’s Muslims.   All Arab countries combined account for about 20% of the world’s Muslim population.

The battle in the Middle East between Israel and her Arab Muslim neighbors is not about religion.  It’s a blood feud between cousins.  The Children of Israel and Arabs trace their lineage to Abraham—Israel through Isaac and Arabs through Ishmael.

Ishmael’s descendants are trying to ramp up the fight by making it a religious battle in order to suck in the non-Arab Muslim masses.  So far they have not succeeded, but they are making progress.  ISIS is a perfect example.

ISIS has declared that Israel is a primary target.  ISIS affiliates come from every country.  If large numbers of Muslims from non-Arab countries join them, and I think they will, the stage will be set for some important developments.

5: Malcolm Lowe—World Council of Churches Starts Seven Weeks of Brainwashing

February 12, 2016, was a day of fresh hope for the suffering Christians of the Middle East. Pope Francis of Rome and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow met in Havana, Cuba, to issue a joint message to the world. After pledging themselves to change the history of schism between Eastern and Western Christianity, they placed the contemporary merciless persecution of Christians at the top of their agenda:

“Our gaze must firstly turn to those regions of the world where Christians are victims of persecution. In many countries of the Middle East and North Africa whole families, villages and cities of our brothers and sisters in Christ are being completely exterminated. Their churches are being barbarously ravaged and looted, their sacred objects profaned, their monuments destroyed…”

SnyderTalk Comment: Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing.  Many so-called “Christians” will join Yahweh’s enemies.  No matter what they say about their beliefs, they are not His people.
