Caroline Glick—Hope is not a strategy:

Our government is playing games with itself. And losing.

On Wednesday Chaim Levinson reported in Haaretz that for the first time in nearly two years, last week the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria approved new building plans for a small number of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Levinson also reported that last month Jerusalem’s municipal planning and building commission gave final approval to plans to build nearly 900 housing units in the southern neighborhood of Gilo. Initial approval was granted back in 2012.

But in the intervening three years, the commission refused to allow them to go forward.

From the report, we learn that the government’s critics in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria who claimed that it was barring Jewish building were right all along. Despite the government’s denials, the fact is that for at least the last year and a half, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers maintained an undeclared freeze on construction for Israeli Jews in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.

During this period, Jews have only been permitted to build in these areas either on the basis of plans that had received final approval before the unofficial freeze took effect, or in cases where refusal to approve building would have involved admitting that a freeze was in effect. So, for instance, in areas where the rights of Jews to their property in Judea and Samaria have been challenged before the Supreme Court by EU-financed Israeli NGOs like Yesh Din, the government has defended those rights and so given permission for Jews to exercise their property rights.

The government opted to enact this unofficial building freeze, and so trample the civil rights of hundreds of thousands of Israeli citizens, in the hopes of convincing the Obama administration to protect Israel from Palestinian efforts to pass anti-Israel resolutions at the UN Security Council.

SnyderTalk Comment: I believe that Barack Obama is an anti-Semite.  Europe is loaded with anti-Semites.

It doesn’t matter what Israel does.  Criticism is heaped on the tiny Jewish state regardless.

The fact that Obama and many European leaders and Turkish President Erdogan get along so well together doesn’t surprise me.

Isn’t it interesting that Jewish people are capturing the world’s attention again at this moment in history?

Coincidence?  I don’t think so.

PJ MediaWashington and EU to Israel: Make the Land Safe for Terror: Among ISIS’s exploits, satellite photos now show, was the destruction in 2014 of St. Elijah, Iraq’s oldest Christian monastery. The Guardian reports that it was 1,400 years old and had “26 distinctive rooms including a sanctuary and chapel.” The photos reveal that its “walls have been literally pulverized.”

SnyderTalk Comment: I wish that was a joke, but it’s not.

Well-meaning do-gooders and those who are not so well-meaning have caused enormous problems for Israel and for the rest of the world.

Israel’s enemies talk about peace, but they don’t want peace.  They would like to see Israel destroyed.

Even if there were no Israel, the Middle East would still be a powder-keg because they hate each other, too.

They would still be moving to Europe and other countries as “refugees” and trying to destroy them.

I want to make it clear that I know there are legitimate refugees, but Islamists see them as tools to be exploited.

They insert jihadists in with the group and expect countries to open their arms to them.  In Europe, that’s what happened with predictable results.  Obama is doing the same thing in the U.S.  Again, the results are predictable.

This thing is just getting started.

Breitbart NewsObama Joins Israel Boycott, Labels West Bank Goods: In a step towards joining an Israel boycott, the U.S. is now requiring goods originating from the West Bank (also known as Judea and Samaria) to be labeled separately from products from the rest of Israel, following the European Union’s crackdown on products from the disputed territories.

Rivkah Lambert Adler—American Jewish leader urges Jews to get out of America: Lori Palatnik, a leader in the American Jewish community, has just released a video in which she calls for American Jews to move to Israel, in fulfillment of the Biblical prophecy about the ingathering of the exiles. At the End of Days, Palatnik teaches, “Ultimately, the Jews are all going to move to Israel.”

Michael Curtis—The Obsession With Israel That Is Not Magnificent: If possession is nine-tenths of the law, obsession is at least that amount in the discourse on the Middle East in the halls of the United Nations. That obsession with the State of Israel was fully illustrated on January 26, 2016 at the quarterly meeting of the 15-member UN Security Council on Middle East affairs. It was particularly troubling that the meeting coincided in the same week as the occasion on January 27 of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the commemoration of the six million Jews killed by Nazi Germany and its allies. The analogy is obvious. The obsession with Jews and consequent antisemitism and attacks on them has existed for centuries; now the obsession at the UN, rhetorical in nature, and the attacks, physical and deadly, by Palestinian individuals and groups are being directed against the Jewish State of Israel.

SnyderTalk Comment: The anti-Israel bias at the U.N. is the stuff of legend.  It goes way beyond normal.  It’s off the charts.

I used to tell my students that you could get an anti-Israel resolution about anything passed at the U.N. in minutes with little or no discussion.  I wasn’t exaggerating.

That’s one reason why I have no confidence in the U.N.  It’s a force for evil in the world.  The few good things the U.N. does well don’t compensate for the misery they inflict on the planet.

Even so, the world is moving toward making the U.N. a more powerful global institution.  Just because it’s bound to happen doesn’t mean that I support it.

Jerusalem PostBan accuses Netanyahu of twisting his words: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of twisting his words to make it seem as though he was justifying terrorism.

SnyderTalk Comment: Click here to read Ki-Moon’s words.  They weren’t twisted.

I call Ki-Moon’s claim the “I didn’t say what I said” defense.

Global PostSweden and Finland plan to deport tens of thousands of migrants: Germany moved Thursday to toughen its asylum policies, as Finland and Sweden announced plans to deport tens of thousands of people in a bid to contain the migrant crisis.

CNNMan with 2 guns arrested at Disneyland Paris hotel: A man who had luggage containing two firearms and ammunition was arrested Thursday at the entrance to a hotel near Disneyland Paris, and investigators are looking for a woman who was with him, police said.

SnyderTalk Comment: He had something else in his bag.  CNN didn’t include it in the title.  It’s not mentioned until the 3rd paragraph.

I wonder why.

ReutersGerman government agrees tighter asylum rules: German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives and their left-leaning Social Democrat (SPD) coalition partners agreed on Thursday to tighten asylum rules, reaching a compromise on how to stem an influx of migrants that topped one million.

Washington PostObama administration placed children with human traffickers, report says: The Obama administration failed to protect thousands of Central American children who have flooded across the U.S. border since 2011, leaving them vulnerable to traffickers and to abuses at the hands of government-approved caretakers.

Fox NewsLebanon detains vulture suspected of spying for Israel: Israel Nature and Parks Authority officials are pleading for the release of a vulture after residents of a southern Lebanese town captured the bird, claiming it was being used for spying.

Soeren Kern—Islam and Islamism in America in 2015: Part II: April 1. Ahlam Ahmed, an 18-year-old year-old from Queens, said she wanted to become the first female Muslim firefighter in New York City. Ahmed stands five feet tall and weighs just 105 pounds. In an interview with the Village Voice, Ahmed expressed more concern over the dress code than the physical requirements for the job. “I have to be covered,” she said. “I love wearing the scarf. It’s for protection.” FDNY press officer Elisheva Zakheim said: “We try to accommodate religious practices, but safety is our first concern, be it male or female. We approach a lot of these questions on a case-by-case basis.”

CNNDonald Trump throws a grand old party: No one ever really doubted that Donald Trump could pull off a major counter-programing feat — even when competing with a GOP debate that was expected to draw millions of viewers. He did it Thursday night, dazzling a crowd of hundreds of enthusiastic supporters by announcing that he had raised more than $6 million for veterans in one day — $1 million of it from his own checkbook. “We love our vets,” he said. “You know, my whole theme is make America great again and that’s what we’re going to do — and we wouldn’t have even been here if it weren’t for our vets,” Trump said.

SnyderTalk Comment: Trump won the GOP debate Thursday night, and he wasn’t even there.

Washington PostSingapore firm fined for aiding N. Korean arms shipment: A Singapore court on Friday fined a shipping company nearly $127,000 for wiring money used to transport fighter jets and surface-to-air missile systems from Cuba to North Korea in 2013 in violation of bans on helping Pyongyang.

Baltimore SunPresident Obama: ‘Democrats will win in November’: President Barack Obama urged House Democrats gathered in Baltimore on Thursday to approach this election year confident in their chances for success, and vowed to use the waning days of his presidency to cement their legacy as well as his own.

Jerusalem PostNetanyahu leads political criticism against new Im Tirtzu campaign: Opposition MKs react angrily after NGO’s campaign labels famous Israeli artists as “foreign agents” for their affiliations with left-wing groups.

Washington PostWary of culture clash, Germans teach refugees their rules: First impressions are important in any culture, and Germany is keen that even refugees from conservative Muslim countries get it right.

ReutersDutch suggest EU send migrants straight back to Turkey as more arrive without case for asylum: The Netherlands floated an idea on Thursday to ferry migrants reaching Greece straight back to Turkey to stop a relentless influx into the European Union as EU officials cited a rise in the numbers of those who would not qualify for asylum. The 28-nation bloc has all but failed to curb or control the influx of asylum seekers from the Middle East and Africa, more than one million of whom arrived in Europe last year, mainly via Greece and heading towards the EU’s biggest economy, Germany. More than 54,500 people have already reached Europe by sea this year, including 50,668 through Greece, according to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR).

ARA NewsSyrian opposition backs off from Geneva talks, accuses UN envoy of adopting Russian-Iranian agenda: The Saudi-backed Syrian opposition will not attend peace talks in Geneva on Friday, accusing U.N.’s special envoy to Syria of adopting Russian-Iranian agenda, a senior figure said. Riyad Hijab, who was a former Syrian prime minister and who now works as coordinator for High Negotiations Committee, said his opposition group will not participate in talks without fulfilling their humanitarian demands, which specify stoppage to bombings and starvation of civilians in besieged areas as a condition.

Middle East OnlineSyria peace talks in tatters: France-based Middle East analyst Agnes Levallois said the opposition was growing increasingly frustrated that the question of President Bashar al-Assad’s fate was being put off.

ABC NewsUN Official: Iran, Israel Could Ratify Nuke Test Ban Treaty: The head of the U.N. nuclear test ban treaty organization says arch-enemies Iran and Israel are “the closest” of the eight holdout nations to ratifying the treaty and assuring the world they will never conduct a nuclear test explosion.

Jerusalem Post‘Zionist lobby’ an obstacle to US-Iran relations, Rouhani says: Ayatollah Khamenei released a video in which he said America “assists the fake Zionist regime” and that when “they say in their slogans that they are opposed to terrorism and ISIS they are lying.”

Eli Lake—No Change in Iran After the Nuclear Deal: Much of U.S. strategy in the Iran nuclear talks has been aimed at strengthening perceived moderates in the hopes of weakening perceived hardliners. But last week Iran’s hardliners voted to disqualify nearly all of President Hassan Rouhani’s political allies from running in next month’s parliamentary elections.

Middle East EyeSnow falls in Kuwait for ‘first time ever’: Snow fell on Kuwait on Thursday morning for the first time in the country’s history, pictures sent to Middle East Eye show.

ReutersUS seeks to influence Russia election with graft allegations: Kremlin: Statements by U.S. officials alleging that Russian President Vladimir Putin is corrupt are outrageous and insulting, the Kremlin said on Friday, adding that they were an attempt to influence Russia’s next presidential election.

If the FBI is lying, President Obama made a serious mistake.

Why blame President Obama?  For this to have happened, presidential authority would have been required.  It was too high profile for it to have happened any other way.

I hope the FBI is telling the truth.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
