Washington PostSaudi Arabia’s ‘Islamic military alliance’ against terrorism makes no sense:

This week, Saudi Arabia announced that it was forming a new “Islamic military alliance” devoted to fighting global terrorism. The plan stemmed from the “keenness of the Muslim world to fight this disease, which affected the Islamic world first, before the international community as a whole,” Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman told reporters during a rare news conference.

In many ways, this alliance seems designed to calm Western critics who have frequently complained that the Muslim world isn’t doing enough to combat terrorism and extremism. However, the details of the planned alliance are more than a little unclear and have left some scratching their heads, unsure who exactly is in the alliance and what it is actually designed to do.

And as you can see, much of the reaction on social media hasn’t been positive.

Saudi Arabia has tried hard recently to convince the West that it is taking the lead on tackling the problems of extremism and terrorism. But it’s no exaggeration to say there are some perplexing aspects to this new alliance.

First, some of the countries apparently in the alliance claim to have never heard of it

A total of 34 nations have been declared as members of the alliance, but already some countries have come out to say that they never agreed to anything.

“We came to know about it (the alliance) through news reports,” a senior official of Pakistan’s Foreign Office told the Express Tribune after the announcement. “We have asked our ambassador in Saudi Arabia to get details on it.” Another unnamed individual told the newspaper that they were unsure whether they were part of any military alliance and noted that the country would not get involved in an alliance without United Nations backing.

SnyderTalk Comment: I agree.  The Saudi “coalition” to confront radical Islam makes no sense.  See my editorial “The Trump Effect is Producing Results”.

Also, see “Donald Trump is a disgrace to his country, says billionaire Saudi prince”.

Trump’s call to ban Muslim immigrants got people’s attention, especially leaders in Muslim countries that should have addressed this problem a very long time ago.

As I said in my editorial, Trump is producing results.  He’s producing more results as a candidate for president than Barry Obama is producing as president.

The fact that some of the nations listed as participants in the Saudi coalition didn’t know anything about it until they heard news reports about it tells us a lot.

I’m saying that the coalition is a publicity ploy.  Saudi Arabia is not serious.

If Trump is elected president, there will be a new sheriff in town.  He’ll make sure that everyone knows it, particularly Saudi Arabia.  It’s about time.

As I see it, the world is in World War III, and sides are being formed.  There are several articles in the Perspectives section below that touch on it.  Also, see “IS Recruiting for Terror Attacks in Germany” and “FBI Official Just Issued TERRIFYING Warning For Those Who Live Near ‘Peaceful’ Mosques”.

As believers, we need to know whose side we are on.  In reality, there are only two sides: Yahweh’s side and all the others.

I know whose side I’m on.

His Name is Yahweh, the website, is a companion of the book His Name is Yahweh.  Both of them explain the importance of God’s Name.

The website is loaded with factual information that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Yahweh is our Savior and that the Messiah is Yahweh.

I hope you will take a few minutes and explore the website.  I also hope you will share it with your friends and family.

It’s time for believers to tell the world about our God by His Name—Yahweh.

Times of IsraelIsraeli medics told to treat terrorists the same as victims:

Medics at terror sites must treat the wounded according to the severity of their injuries, even if that means helping an attacker before his victims, the Israeli Medical Association said in rules published this week.

The new rules, formulated by the IMA’s Ethics Bureau, came into effect at the beginning of the week and replace an earlier directive based on the principle of “charity begins at home,” which enabled medical professionals to treat victims first, the Hebrew-language Israel Hayom newspaper reported Wednesday.

The decision to change the directive was made during a heated meeting last week held at the request of Physicians for Human Rights, which appealed to the bureau, claiming the previous rules contradicted accepted medical ethics and international humanitarian laws.

Senior doctors in the IMA told Israel Hayom that the change in guidelines was not publicly announced for fear of a political backlash amid almost daily Palestinian attacks for the past three months.

While Israeli doctors and medical staff see it as an ethical duty to attend to the injuries of terrorists and treat them the same as victims, until the recent change they could give priority when doing triage to victims rather than perpetrators.

SnyderTalk Comment: Terrorists who attempt to murder innocent Israelis are given priority in medical treatment over the survivors they attempted to murder if they are more wounded.

That’s a perfect example of a contrast of opposites.

I can’t imagine that happening in any other country.  It shows how kind and compassionate the Israeli people are.

I doubt you will hear anything about it in the mainstream media.  I suspect that anti-Semites won’t care even if they hear about it.

See “Christians and the End of Days” and pay particular attention to the section titled “Gentiles and the End of Days”.  It starts at the 2:45 mark.

When the Messiah returns, the way we have treated His brothers and sisters will become very important to us.

Bret Stephens—American Dentist with Mother in Israel Refused U.S. Security Clearance:

When Dr. Gershon Pincus, a New York City dentist, turned 60, he decided he wanted to give something back to his country and in 2014 took a low-paying, part-time job at an off-base Naval dental clinic in Saratoga, N.Y., commuting 400 miles each week. In a routine interview to obtain a security clearance for civilian employees, he mentioned that his mother and two siblings lived in Israel. This year his security clearance was denied, meaning he would not be able to continue doing his Naval dental work.

Since the Obama administration came to office, there have been 58 cases in which Israeli ties were a significant factor in denial of a security clearance. Of these, 36 applicants (62%) had their appeals for clearance denied. For comparison, there has been just one case of a French citizen losing an appeal and being denied a clearance, and zero involving British citizens. Pincus’ lawyer Avi Schick notes that the process of disqualifying Dr. Pincus “was driven by headquarters personnel” at the Office of Personnel Management. His case suggests the level of scrutiny to which any applicant with the slightest Israeli connection is subjected.

Steven Emerson—America’s Refugee, Asylum, and Visa Waiver Programs: A Broken System:

Foreigners, including refugees, have no basic or universal right to enter the United States; that entry is granted as a privilege. In today’s complex and dangerous environment, and in light of the growing worldwide terror threat, entry into this country is a matter of national security.

In a new white paper, the Investigative Project on Terrorism examines gaps in the immigration system which could allow terrorists to enter the United States as refugees, to apply for asylum once in the U.S., or to simply enter as passport holders from the 38 countries in the Visa Waiver Program.

The U.S. House is expected to vote this week on legislation to tighten the Visa Waiver Program’s conditions, but the white paper makes it clear that such action is one small step in a long journey toward buttressing the system against abuse by terrorists.

Washington PostPutin says Trump is ‘absolute leader’ in US presidential race:

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that Russia’s intervention in the Syrian war would continue for an indeterminate period and said Moscow had no significant differences with Washington over efforts to end the conflict.

Putin’s remarks — during his annual news conference — were among a wide ranging of subjects from Russia’s battered economy, tense relations with Turkey over the downing of a Russian warplane, and the smoldering conflict in neighboring Ukraine.

Putin also briefly touched on the White House race, saying Russia would work with “whomever the American voters choose” but singling out Donald Trump as someone he could “get along very well.”

“He’s a very lively man, talented without doubt,” Putin said according to the Interfax news service after the three-hour news conference. He added that Trump is the “absolute leader in the presidential race.”

“He’s saying he wants to go to another level of relations, closer, deeper relations with Russia,” Putin continued. “How can we not welcome that? Of course we welcome that.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Interesting.  It’s worth following closely.

I have a strong hunch that we are witnessing the unfolding of historic events.

Examiner TimesMedvedev advocates global internet regulator in China speech:

Officials from Russian Federation and China are meeting in China to try to improve economic relations between the two world powers.

The president said he hoped China-Russia ties would make further progress in the coming year to bring more benefit to the two peoples.

Moscow calls for equal regulation of the Internet by all countries, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedevstated at the 2nd world conference on Internet governance, saying that the Internet should be open but it is necessary to regulate it.

During their meeting on Tuesday, President Xi spoke highly of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, and the fruitful achievements in bilateral cooperation.

Both countries are facing a key period of economic mode transformation and structural adjustment, Xi said, calling on the sides to work together on the alignment between China’s Silk Road Economic Belt construction and Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

Medvedev said the Internet is a new and a complex subject for regulation and the legal framework just fails to keep pace with the fast development of technologies.

NBC NewsChina Summons US Envoy Over $1.83B Arms Sale to Taiwan:

China summoned a senior U.S. diplomat and threatened to impose sanctions on U.S. firms after Washington announced it would sell arms worth $1.83 billion to Taiwan.

Chinese Vice-Foreign Minister Zheng Zequang told Kaye Lee, the U.S. deputy chief of mission in Beijing, on Wednesday that the proposed sale “severely damaged China’s sovereignty and security interests,” according to a statement from the Chinese foreign ministry.

NewsweekIran Says It Will Not Accept Any Restrictions on Missile Program:

Iran will not accept any restrictions on its missile program, the defense minister was quoted as saying by state media on Wednesday, after sanctions monitors said Tehran had violated a U.N. Security Council resolution by test-firing a missile.

The Security Council’s Panel of Experts on Iran said in a confidential report, first reported by Reuters, the medium-range Emad rocket, tested in October, met its requirements for considering that a missile could deliver a nuclear weapon.

“We tested Emad to show the world that the Islamic Republic will only act based on its national interests and no country or power can impose its will on us,” Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan was quoted as saying by the state news agency, IRNA.

SnyderTalk Comment: Iran has made its position clear.  The want nukes and missiles to deliver them long distances.  I believe they will have both in short order.

Jerusalem PostUN’s Ban Ki-Moon accuses Israel of ‘breeding’ Palestinian terror attacks:

In a message delivered on his behalf to a conference on the “Rights of the Palestinian people,” UN Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon said the recent terrorist attacks by Palestinians against Israelis are “bred from nearly five decades of Israeli occupation.”

“It is the result of fear, humiliation, frustration and mistrust,” he said. “It has been fed by the wounds of decades of bloody conflict, which will take a long time to heal. Palestinian youth in particular are tired of broken promises and they see no light at the end of the tunnel.”

In his message, which was delivered on Tuesday, Ban also blamed the “settlement enterprise” for the deterioration of the situation in the region.

“Jerusalem, one of the oldest cities in the world, holds shrines sacred to billions of people worldwide – Muslims, Jews and Christians alike,” he added. “What happens in Jerusalem reverberates around the world.”

SnyderTalk Comment: The so-called “occupation” includes all of Israel.  Therefore, as long as Israel exists, so-called “Palestinians” will engage in terrorist activity.  World leaders, Ki-Moon included, inspire them with statements like the ones he made.

To make those statements, Ki-Moon has to be totally ignorant or completely dishonest.  I suspect that he’s not ignorant.

He was right about one thing, though.  What happens in Jerusalem does reverberate around the world.  According to Yahweh, Jerusalem will be the center of the battle when He returns to solve the problem.

Until He returns, the problem won’t be solved.

“Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. In that day,” declares Yahweh, “I will strike every horse with bewilderment and his rider with madness. But I will watch over the house of Judah, while I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘A strong support for us are the inhabitants of Jerusalem through Yahweh Sabaoth, their God.’” (Zechariah 12: 2-5)

Shalu shalom Yerushalayim.

Daily SabahRussia, Iran lose minds and hearts in Middle East:

Both Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian allies across the region depend on his country’s large arsenal of weapons to pursue his foreign policies in the Middle East. However, his damaged reputation has showed shown signs of improvement of late due to his so-called international efforts to contain DAESH, and when it comes to the Syrian peace process, the United States believes it cannot act without Russia. The U.S. depends on Russian support in the UN Security Council to include DAESH in the financial sanctions regime that is to be updated this month. Both countries somehow managed to agree to back the new resolution essential to prevent DAESH access to the international financial system.

Recent polls, however, show that Russia’s military operations, which target humanitarian aid convoys, hospitals and civilians, are further diminishing Moscow’s reputation in the region. Both the Iranian and Iraqi governments share the same fate since they have disenfranchised Sunnis across the area due to their sectarian policies and support for Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime.

SnyderTalk Comment: The whole world is being dragged into the Middle East quagmire.  Eventually, the fighting will cross the Israeli border with more than random rocket and mortar attacks.  Iran will make sure of it.

It’s time for everyone to choose sides.  Either we are for Yahweh or we are against Him.  There is no middle ground.

Lukewarm support is no support at all.  That’s what Yahweh said, not me.

Joseph Humire—Iran Taking Over Latin America:

  • “This is a matter of life or death. I need you to be an intermediary with Argentina to get help for my country’s nuclear program. We need Argentina to share its nuclear technology with us. It will be impossible to advance with our program without Argentina’s cooperation.” – Iran’s former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez.
  • According to Venezuelan informants, whitewashing Iran’s accused from the AMIA attack was only a secondary objective in its outreach to Argentina. The primary objective was to gain access to Argentina’s nuclear technology and materials — a goal Iran has for more than three decades.
  • During the last 32 years, Iran has achieved a resounding success in promoting an anti-US and anti-Israel message in Latin America. Its state-owned television network, HispanTV, broadcasts in Spanish 24 hours a day, seven days a week in at least 16 countries throughout the region.
  • The lifting of sanctions and influx of billions of dollars as a result of Iran’s nuclear deal will undoubtedly help Iran in Latin America, where many countries face economic turmoil and can use an Iranian “stimulus.”
  • While Latin America is often regarded as a foreign policy backwater for the United States, it is the geopolitical prize for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

CNNSan Bernardino attacker’s friend expected to be charged, officials say:

Federal prosecutors are expected to file charges against a friend and former neighbor of San Bernardino attacker Syed Rizwan Farook, law enforcement officials told CNN Thursday.

The charges against Enrique Marquez are expected to partly be based on allegations that Marquez had bought two rifles that Farook and Farook’s wife used in the December 2 mass shooting that left 14 people dead in the Southern California city.

Marquez, 24, has told investigators he didn’t know about the plans for the San Bernardino attack, U.S. officials have said.

But he has acknowledged that he bought the two AR-15s for Farook several years ago, and he told investigators about a 2012 attack plot that he says he and Farook conceived but did not carry out, U.S. officials told CNN.

ReutersBritain’s Cameron to try to break EU impasse at talks:

Prime Minister David Cameron will try to end an impasse at talks with European Union leaders on Thursday over his attempts to win better membership terms for Britain before it votes on whether to stay in the bloc.

The British leader has characterized the talks over dinner in Brussels as “another step” in negotiations, but is keenly aware of how divisive the debate is at home before a membership referendum he has promised to hold by the end of 2017.

Cameron faces an uphill battle to secure agreement on curbing welfare payments to EU migrants to try to reduce immigration in talks which the EU’s main negotiator, Donald Tusk, said could not “escape a serious debate with no taboos”.

European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker said he was convinced EU leaders would find a solution to “that highly complicated question” of benefits, which Cameron said he must secure to ease concerns among British voters over immigration.

“We’ll enter the concrete and vital phase of negotiations with our British colleagues,” he told reporters. “The Commission is ready to look for other options than the single one proposed by the British prime minister.”

Bassam Tawil—More Lies from Abbas about The “Intifada”:

  • We still have never encountered even one case where a terrorist complained about the absence of a two-state solution. Also, contrary to Abbas’s claim, none of the terrorists has ever complained about checkpoints or settlements. This latest wave of terrorism is not about “despair,” unemployment, poor living conditions or freedom of movement. Instead, it is another attempt by Palestinian “youths” to eliminate Israel, again using the false excuse that Jews are “desecrating” and “destroying” Islamic holy sites.
  • A review of the Facebook accounts of most of the terrorists shows that their main intention was to murder as many Jews as possible in order to become “martyrs” — to impose a reign of terror Jews, to force them to leave Israel.
  • Abbas is well aware that the “youths” are not complaining about the “occupation.” The “occupation” these ” youths” have a problem with is the one that began with the creation of Israel in 1948.
  • A new generation of Palestinians has once again been deceived into believing that the Jews are plotting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Al-Aqsa Mosque stands, as always, unharmed in its place.

Washington PostRight-wing Israelis accuse human rights activists of supporting terror:

The video starts with a frightful scene: A young man walks towards the camera, raises an arm — a gleaming knife in his hand — and brings it down in a stabbing motion.

The narrator tells viewers that “before the next terrorist stabs you” certain left-wing groups are ready to defend the suspect. Then photos of several human rights activists appear on the screen. “Foreign agents,” declares the narrator, have been implanted into the Jewish homeland to fight against us “while we fight against terror.”

Released by the right-wing Israeli organization Im Tirzu, the clip comes as Israelis grapple with more than two months of almost daily stabbing attacks by Palestinians — and retaliatory action by Israelis –that highlights the growing gap between those on the right and left of the political spectrum.

Basically, it’s ultra-nationalists who want Israel to take a tougher stance against the Palestinian attacks versus rights activists and others who are often critical of Israeli policies toward Palestinians.

SnyderTalk Comment: Writers of articles like this one and those who applaud them don’t get it.

It’s not about left and right on the political spectrum.  It’s about right and wrong from a moral perspective.

I’m not a right-wing Israeli, and I know that so-called “human rights activists” are supporting terrorist attacks against Israel.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Exodus 32

11 Then Moses entreated Yahweh his God, and said, “O Yahweh, why does Your anger burn against Your people whom You have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 Why should the Egyptians speak, saying, ‘With evil intent He brought them out to kill them in the mountains and to destroy them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your burning anger and change Your mind about doing harm to Your people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heavens, and all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’” 14 So Yahweh changed His mind about the harm which He said He would do to His people.

SnyderTalk Comment: Read His Name is Yahweh.

This passage of Scripture is crucial.  If you read His Name is Yahweh, you will understand why.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
