Udi Segal—Israel must prepare for Palestinian Authority’s collapse:

The winds that are now blowing through the region are reminiscent of those first few days of the first intifada in 1987. These are bad winds, winds of disorder and unrest, winds that are moving masses of people who are leaderless to seek ways to do harm, to kill, to set things on fire, and to undermine the status quo.

After the Kalashnikov era was put down and defeated during the second intifada and Operation Defensive Shield, the Palestinians are going back to their roots – fireworks, Molotov cocktails, and stones. It’s a return to the stone age.

Israel’s response is also a not-too-unfamiliar one. There’s talk of iron fists, zero tolerance, and easing up the rules of engagement. In the late 1980s, Israel’s leadership also spoke in these tones, and acted upon them. The end result was a heads-on clash that changed the rules of the game, eventually bringing Israel to the Madrid peace conference and the Oslo Accords.

This doesn’t mean that we are on the verge of another intifada. Then, like now, the atmosphere was explosive, and the circumstances led to mayhem.

Another element complicating matters is desperation. An overwhelming majority of Palestinians are in despair. They’ve had it with the overall situation, they’ve had it with themselves, they’ve had it with Mahmoud Abbas, they’ve had it with the intifada, and they no longer believe there is a chance for peace. That is why there hasn’t been an explosion of violence until now.

The Palestinians are in despair because all of the diplomatic steps taken by the Palestine Liberation Organization have been nothing but kalaam fadi – “empty words” in Arabic. They are in despair because they know that the Palestinian flag flying at the United Nations, the boycott against Israel, and recognition of a Palestinian state haven’t moved anything on the ground.

SnyderTalk Comment: Storm clouds are gathering.  The global economy is teetering on the brink.  Islamists are on the rampage.  Europe is dazed and confused.  The U.S. is a rudderless ship on a turbulent sea.  The Russian bear is reasserting herself.  China is in social and economic disarray.  Iran is well on her way to possessing nuclear weapons.  The Middle East is a powder keg.  Israel is threatened on all sides.

Do these conditions sound familiar to you?

Dmitri Voltova: Fiorina: Carson must apologize, Islam most “enlightened” faith—Carly ordered Ben Carson to apologize about the “Muslim” issue and highlighted her belief that the Islamic Civilization of the 800-1500 era was the most “enlightened,” reiterating a theme she brought up in a post 9/11 letter to HP staff, prior to laying them all off. “When people get to know me, they tend to support me,” she told Fallon. “That’s what you see in the polls.”

SnyderTalk Comment: This is my take on it: Fiorina out, Carson in.

No one who is that deluded should be President of the United States.  I learned that from Barack Obama.

Pinhas Inbari—The Muslim Schism over Jerusalem:

Amid the systematic destruction of mosques and holy places in the Arab world, it is precisely Israel’s responsibility for security at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on the Temple Mount that protects it from a similar fate.

Islam is divided into the Shia and the Sunna, but the Sunna is also divided into two main groups: the Salafis and the Muslim Brotherhood. The controversy between the Salafis – from whom al-Qaeda emerged and who are also known as Wahabis – and the Muslim Brotherhood is about, among other things, what constitutes the center of Islam.

Whereas the Salafis view the Arabian sites of Hijaz and Mecca as the center of the faith, the Muslim Brotherhood locates it at the Cairo Al-Azhar University, founded in the year 970 as a center for Islamic studies from which rulings and edicts on Islam and Islamic culture emerge. But because Cairo has no special religious holiness, the Brotherhood regards Jerusalem as their religious center. From the Salafis’ standpoint, the Muslim Brotherhood’s enhancement of the special status of Jerusalem poses a danger to the status of Mecca.

In Syria, for example, the Salafi Islamic State is engaged in an outright war with the Nusra Front of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Salafis frown upon the cult of holy places other than Mecca and Medina and destroy such sites systematically.

“Liberating Al-Aqsa” or “Al-Aqsa is in danger” are main motifs of the Muslim Brotherhood’s preaching, while Salafis downplay Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa. Whereas the Muslim Brotherhood focuses on Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, the Salafis focus on a more immediate goal: “conquering Rome” – that is, the Christian world.

SnyderTalk Comment: Keep an eye on these developments.  Yahweh works in mysterious ways.

Tova Dvorin: Erdogan: Israel Defending Temple Mount ‘A Red Line’— Israel defending Judaism’s holiest site is a “red line,” Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated to a delegation of visiting Arab MKs on Monday. “I am very disturbed by the situation and will act in the international arena as much as I can to stop the dangerous events in the Islamic holy places,” Erdogan stated, referring to the Temple Mount. The Mount, the holiest site in Judaism and the location of the First and Second Temple, has also been alleged by Islamists to be “the third holiest site in Islam.” Erdogan added that the Mount is “a red line, and the continued provocation of Israel could deteriorate the situation.” “I am following the situation with great concern and will continue to follow the situation in the future,” he concluded.

SnyderTalk Comment: I have one thing to say about Recep Tayyip Erdogan: a snake is a snake.  He can change his words and his appearance, but he remains a snake.  I don’t trust Erdogan at all.

Boaz Bismuth: Time for presidential introspection— Introspection is important, even for those who don’t observe Yom Kippur. Take Geir Lundestad for example, a former director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute, who recently acknowledged that in hindsight, U.S. President Barack Obama “failed to live up to the panel’s expectations” after he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize six years ago. The argument that led to Obama’s prize was that it would lend the new president a helping hand, Lundestad claims in his new memoir, “Secretary of Peace: 25 years with the Nobel Prize.” But that would be like awarding the Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer team the UEFA Champions League cup before their fateful game against Chelsea. Remember Maccabi’s humiliating defeat to Chelsea? That’s approximately what happened to Obama in the foreign policy arena. And it is not over yet — not for Obama nor for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

SnyderTalk Comment: Over the years, Obama has revealed many things about his character.  One of them is that he is a know-it-all who refuses even to consider ideas with which he doesn’t agree.  No amount of evidence can convince him that he is wrong.  That is a sure sign of supreme arrogance and narcissism.

Obama has proven that he is immoral to the core as well.  Since he’s president, he has had the opportunity to impose his immorality on our nation and our laws.  That’s the one thing he has accomplished.

Andrew C. McCarthy: Why GOP Congressional Leaders Support the Iran Deal in Fact—Follow the Money— Why on earth would Republicans do that?” That is a question I’ve been asked at least a dozen times since illustrating that the GOP has played a cynical game in connection with President Obama’s Iran deal. “Follow the money” is a common answer to questions about political motivation. It may not explain everything in this case, but it is certainly relevant. This spring, Republican leadership colluded with the White House and congressional Democrats to enact a law — the Corker-Cardin Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act — that guaranteed Obama would be authorized to lift sanctions against Iran (the main objective of the terrorist regime in Tehran). The rigged law authorized Obama to lift sanctions as long as Republicans could not pass a resolution of disapproval. As Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker John Boehner, Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker, and other GOP leaders well knew, there was no way they would ever be able to enact a disapproval resolution over Obama’s veto. But the process choreographed by Corker-Cardin meant they would be able to complain about the deal and vote to disapprove it — thereby creating the impression that they were staunchly against the lifting of sanctions that they had already authorized.

SnyderTalk Comment: We need new leadership in the White House and the Congress.  Our political leaders have let us down, and there will be hell to pay.

Susan Warner—Is the Pope’s Dream Our Totalitarian Nightmare?:

Some high-profile commentators think they smell a Marxist clothed in white papal robes, who dreams of redistributing the world’s wealth. Pope Francis insists that he has little interest in Marxism and that his political advocacy against materialism, capitalism, greed and idolatry are largely religious in nature. However, the flavor of some of his statements might suggest otherwise.

The Pope also knows that the UN is poised to strong-arm member nations to sign on to an impossible globalist agenda that will require a total shift of the world’s wealth, and a restructuring of international politics and economics with a one-world government and a universal religion at the steering wheel.

Even to the Pope’s admirers, that sounds a less like peace and love and more like a utopian totalitarian nightmare.

Lawrence A. Franklin: Pakistan: ISIS Plans Terrorist Campaign against Christians— The Pakistani government and military have warned the nation’s tiny Christian minority that Islamic terrorist groups plan to target Christian religious institutions in the near future. The wave of anti-Christian attacks will allegedly include Pakistan’s Christian churches, schools, and hospitals. The warning issued by Pakistan’s leading generals represents an extraordinary, positive development in the military’s relationship with minorities in general and with Christians in particular. Their warming relationship appears to be a calculated political move to complement the military leadership’s ongoing offensive against the terrorist havens in the northwestern corner of the country.

Khaled Abu Toameh—Egypt’s War on Terrorism Bears Fruit

Egyptian President Sisi’s war against the smuggling tunnels will undoubtedly weaken Hamas and other radical groups in the Gaza Strip. Sisi should be commended, rather than criticized, for his courageous actions against Islamist terrorists, both in the Gaza Strip and in Sinai.

Sisi’s actions will benefit not only Egyptians, but also many Palestinians who are opposed to Hamas and radical Islamist groups.

When the Egyptians destroy a Hamas tunnel, that is called “war on terrorism.” But when Israel destroys a tunnel, that is condemned as an “act of aggression.” This moral slithering is why it is important for the international community to stand behind Sisi’s relentless war on radical Islam.

Without such backing, Islamists will continue to pose a major threat not only to Israel, but to many Arabs and Muslims who oppose Hamas, Islamic State and Islamic Jihad.

The environment of the Gaza Strip is the last thing that Hamas cares about. Hamas did not think about damage to the environment or to agricultural fields when it used those fields, as well as populated areas, as launching pads for attacking Israel.

SnyderTalk Comment: The world’s double standard where Israel is concerned reminds me of the days leading up to World War II in Nazi Germany.

Mohshin Habib: Diplomatic Immunity—License for Crime?: Saudi Arabia at It Again— The Indian government is as embarrassed as its citizens are outraged by a crime committed by Saudi a diplomat, who will enjoy not only diplomatic immunity, but also blind support from his superiors. Majed Hassan Ashoor, First Secretary at the Saudi Arabian embassy in New Delhi, has been accused of raping two Nepalese maids, a woman of 50 and her 25-year-old daughter. The women were rescued by the Indian police from diplomat’s apartment in Gurgaon, on the outskirts of India’s capital. “There were days when seven to eight men—all from Saudi Arabia—would take turns in raping us,” the victims said.

Jessica Ivins: Newborn cry stirs dying mother from coma— CONCORD, N.C. — It’s an indisputable fact that the cry of a newborn baby is a powerful thing, but in the case of a North Carolina mother, that cry may be responsible for saving her life. When she discovered she was pregnant with her first baby last year, Shelly Cawley immediately knew she wanted to have a natural childbirth, according to the Washington Post. But late in her pregnancy, she developed a blood clot in her leg, which doctors treated with blood thinners. “We knew what we were going to do, and then all of a sudden that plan was taken away from me,” she told the Post.

Eyal Zisser: The Rise of “Little Syria” under a Russian Umbrella—Israel’s concern over Islamic State’s rise to prominence has taken a back seat to its concern over the establishment of “Little Syria,” which would supposedly be controlled by Assad but in actuality be under the thumb of Iran and Hizbullah. Everyone in this Little Syria will enjoy the safety of the Russian umbrella. The Americans could help this materialize because they are liable to sacrifice certain principles for the sake of fighting Islamic State, and even come to terms with Iranian and Hizbullah forces battling IS on Syrian soil.

SnyderTalk Comment: Russia and Iran are fighting to control Israel’s northeast border in the Golan.  Will they succeed?  Probably.

Yaakov Lappin: Israel Weighs Impact of Russian Intervention in Syria—Throughout September, Russian military forces have been entering Syria to set up air strike capabilities aimed at protecting the Assad regime. “I can’t see the Russian presence as changing the balance of power. It will apparently prolong the fighting. ISIS will never negotiate,” a senior Israeli defense source said. “The Russian interest is to save the regime, and its goal is to take part in combat against ISIS.”

David Lazarus: The Danger of the Blood Moon Phenomenon—  A good friend called me this week to ask what I thought of the Year of Shemitah and what some are saying is the beginning of the end of the world. He had been following many of the popular Christian and Messianic books, magazines, videos and sermons prophesying that there would be devastating financial turmoil in the American economy coinciding with this year’s Jewish holidays. I told him it is wrong for Christians and Messianics to make doom and gloom predictions based on misguided misinterpretations of ancient Jewish practices. America may very well be on the verge of calling down God’s judgments because morality has imploded, not because of Jewish agricultural customs connected to the Land of Israel. Nevertheless, when reports of a fall in the stock markets appeared just days ahead of the Jewish New Year, Christian and Messianic media screamed again with headlines of “Bloodbath in Global Markets” and “Blood Moons.” Of course the temporary drop in stock prices had nothing to do with the ancient Hebrew practice of resting the land every seven years, nor with cycles of the moon. Stocks dropped over concerns in the slowing growth of the Chinese markets, and rebounded quickly because the American economy is, in fact, getting stronger. Here is why we must not let ourselves be lead astray by these sensational, unfounded interpretations of the Hebrew calendar, as I told my friend.

SnyderTalk Comment: It pays to watch and discern, but it also pays to be leery of people who talk as though they know exactly what Yahweh is doing.  That’s especially true where the End of Days is concerned.

The Messiah said it best: “But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” (Mark 13: 32)  He said that for a reason.

Isi Leibler: Chief rabbis besmirch Christian Embassy— It is regrettable that on Yom Kippur eve, our chief rabbis have again uttered offensive remarks, ‎this time besmirching one of Israel’s most dedicated allies and ardent supporters. ‎Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi David Lau and his Sephardi counterpart, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, have ‎issued an extraordinary condemnation against the International Christian Embassy in ‎Jerusalem (ICEJ), accusing it of missionary activities and calling on Jews to boycott its 36th ‎annual global Sukkot gathering in Jerusalem. The pro-Israel ICEJ was established in 1980 and is ‎an extension of the evangelical branch of Christianity.‎ Over the past half century, we have witnessed an exponential intensification in the evangelical ‎movement’s attachment for the Jewish people and Israel. This has coincided with the dramatic ‎erosion of support for Israel from the Left and liberal sources.

SnyderTalk Comment: Many rabbis in Israel hold fast to tradition and in the process betray Yahweh.

Take Yahweh’s Name, for example.  They refuse to say it.  In Jerusalem’s Mea Shearim neighborhood, an orthodox Jewish neighborhood, you might get stoned if you said Yahweh’s Name and someone heard you despite the fact that Yahweh commands us to tell the world about Him by Name.  It’s all over the Torah, the Writings, and the Prophets.

Things have to change.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Exodus 23

20 “Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. 21 Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him. 22 But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. 23 For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them. 24 You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds; but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their sacred pillars in pieces. 25 But you shall serve Yahweh your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst. 26 There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. 27 I will send My terror ahead of you, and throw into confusion all the people among whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. 28 I will send hornets ahead of you so that they will drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites before you. 29 I will not drive them out before you in a single year, that the land may not become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. 30 I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land. 31 I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you will drive them out before you. 32 You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods. 33 They shall not live in your land, because they will make you sin against Me; for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Read His Name is Yahweh.

I hope and pray that the Israeli people will understand this passage of Scripture very soon.  What Yahweh said is diametrically opposed to what the world is trying to force Israel to accept.

They should never accept the unacceptable.  It doesn’t matter who is pushing it.  The unacceptable to Yahweh will always be unacceptable.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
