July 22, 2015 SnyderTalk: Why the Jews Are the Canary in the Coal Mine

1--Intro Covering Israel and ME

“And it will come about in the last days that the mountain of the house of Yahweh will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, and the peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, ‘Come and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh and to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us about His ways and that we may walk in His paths.’ For from Zion will go forth the law, even the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.” Micah 4: 1-2

J. P. Golbert—Why the Jews Are the Canary in the Coal Mine:

Even in the matter of “slavery,” the Torah works toward the natural and ideal condition of each and every individual person, which is freedom. In the Torah system, if a master strikes his slave and wounds him, the slave goes free. If a master has enough food for only one, he is obligated to give it to the slave. If he has only one blanket, the slave sleeps under it, not the master. This is precisely why the Western ruling classes have always persecuted the Jews and taught ordinary gentiles to hate them, lest ordinary people learn from the Jews that they have a right to live in freedom and equality. The notion of man being “endowed by his Creator with certain unalienable rights” comes from Jewish Scripture, certainly not from Greek or Roman political philosophy.

As long as Jews are around — militating passionately for the ideals of freedom, equality and sanctity of human life — tyrants will never be safe. In their view, both the Jews and their seditious Bible have to be done away with utterly. For tyrants, Islam is the perfect solution, whereas Christianity claims to be fulfillment of what is set forth in the Hebrew Bible, and therefore must proclaim its validity. To Islam, the Hebrew Bible is made by man and not by Allah; it has no validity and therefore there is nothing to confront. Islam is the perfect religion for making the world safe for tyranny.

Ask a “progressive” what it is that they would have us “progress” toward. The response will usually be a blank stare. Is it any wonder that “progressive” Western leaders and establishment journalists consistently cave in to Islamic demands to curtail freedom and have given Islam a special status among religions? They protect it against criticism, vilify its detractors and continually serve as public relations flacks for Islam: they keep explaining that the burgeoning global jihad and its expanding horrors “have nothing to do with Islam.” One could contend, with far greater justification, that the Inquisition had nothing to do with Christianity. One could claim that the Inquisition was actually anti-Christian, perpetrated by people who twisted the doctrines of Christianity. No one says such an inane and ridiculous thing, except in defense of Islam.

When tyrants target the Jews, the real target is everyone’s freedom.

These schools of thought, dubbed by their followers “progressive,” and by ostensibly embracing the Enlightenment, only seem to have succeeded in uprooting Western Civilization from the Biblical source of equality and freedom, as seen by increasing attempts to suppress free speech on campus, in the media and, especially in Europe, by legal prosecution.

SnyderTalk Comment: It’s a common misconception that forcing Israel to surrender land that Yahweh gave to the Children of Israel will appease Islamist terrorists and make the world a safer place.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Islamists are at war with everyone in the world who doesn’t abide by their radical view of Islam.  Even Muslims aren’t safe because Islamists don’t agree on minute details in Islam, and they fight each other to the death because of their different interpretations.

The Shia-Sunni divide is one example of this.  Each group sees the other as infidels, and they are at war in Yemen right now.

So, yes, Jews are just the canary in the coal mine.  Every living soul on the planet is at risk, and Iran is the linchpin of the global Islamist infrastructure.

ISIS is challenging Iran right now for supremacy in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.  Other more radical groups are popping up every day to challenge ISIS.

Bottom line: this war is just getting started.  We should prepare for the worst.

See “UN Security Council unanimously endorses nuclear deal between Iran and 6 world powers”.  This Obama maneuver could set the stage for some awfully bad things to happen in the near future.

What is the “near future”?

It could be months or years, but the stage is set.

Are you ready?

Douglas Workman: Obama’s sit down with Thomas Friedman— Last Friday, President Obama sat down for an interview with NY Times columnist Thomas Friedman about foreign affairs.  Although the topics were broader than the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, the topic was broached.  When asked about whether he should be more vigorous in pressuring Prime Minister Netanyahu and Abu Mazen to strike a land for peace deal, the President answered that it has to start with Abbas and Netanyahu.  Pointing out that Bibi’s poll numbers are better than Obama’s, the President does not believe that Bibi will make peace without internal pressure forcing him to make necessary compromises.  Abu Mazen according to the President has a different problem; he is too weak to make peace.  In other words, while Bibi is too popular, Abbas is not popular enough. In Obama’s world, Bibi needs societal pressure to take on the settler movement and make the necessary hard compromises that are against his natural inclinations.  Obama continues to focus on settlements in the territories as the key issue.  It is as if he has completely ignored Operation Protective Edge and most of the last six years he has been President.

Yoram Ettinger: Is Israel Ostracized?— The elitist media outlets of Israel, Western Europe and the USA are wrong! Israel is increasingly appreciated and embraced – not ostracized – by the global community. In defiance of the BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) movement in Britain, and despite the Gaza War, Israel’s exports to Britain, and the Israel-Britain trade balance, surged by 38% and 28% respectively from January-August, 2014, compared to the same period in 2013, expanding employment in both countries.  In addition, 37 Israeli-British mergers & acquisitions and British stock market IPOs occurred during the same period. The swelling Israel-Britain trade balance highlights Israel’s special capabilities in the global market, generating cutting-edge technological and scientific developments which have given rise to unique medical, healthcare, agricultural, software and defense technologies and products. Moreover, most of Israel’s export is business-to-business-based, supplying leading international businesses with critical components and technologies, which enhance the quality and reduces the cost of their own products, revolutionizing quality of life, in general, and commercial/defense performance, in particular.  The Israeli exports provide American, European, Russian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, South Korean and additional global giants with a competitive edge in the global competition.

Richard Sokоlsky: Time for Arab Leadership in the Middle East—As Heritage Foundation Vice President James Jay Carafano recently opined in these pages, Arab military forces have largely been missing in action in the battle against ISIS. Equally important, leaders of Arab governments and mainstream and moderate Muslim religious authorities have joined them on the sidelines in confronting Islamic terrorism. The forces that are ripping the Middle East apart are largely homegrown, and not even the United States, the most powerful country in the world, can do much to tame them. If this region is ever going to emerge from chaos and offer a more secure, prosperous and just future for its 420 million inhabitants, Arab leaders will have to muster the unity, vision, and political courage to lift their countries up by the bootstraps. Only a handful of people inside the Capital Beltway, mainly of the realist persuasion, are willing to acknowledge this truth. Depressingly, for the next 16 months, the American public will be spectators to one of Washington’s most venerable blood-sports: the blame game of who lost Iraq and, more broadly, the entire Middle East. Lost in all the finger-pointing and overblown rhetoric about America’s retreat from the Middle East will be one simple reality: Iraq, Syria and the rest of this region are not America’s to lose or win—and it is dangerous, foolish, and conceited to believe otherwise.

SnyderTalk Comment: Arab leadership is like jumbo shrimp.  It’s an oxymoron.

Olivia Ward: Israel’s other war: Boycotts emerge as big threat—It’s a war that needed no recruiting. When casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson issued a call to arms against the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement — dubbed BDS — targeting Israel, dozens of wealthy Americans were ready to draw their chequebooks. Those who answered the call at a closed-door meeting in Las Vegas last month are staunch supporters of the Israeli government. And all are convinced that the movement to end Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian Territories and gain equal rights for Palestinian citizens of Israel is an existential threat to the Jewish state. BDS, 10 years old and counting, has gathered steam in recent months. Norwegian and Dutch corporations have sold off shares from companies involved in the Palestinian Territories, student groups in Britain, the United States and Canada have thrown their support behind it and South Africa’s Bishop Desmond Tutu called on churches to turn their backs on companies that profit from the occupation. Although Israel’s finance ministry says that BDS has scarcely dented the economy, a recent Rand Corporation study warned that the country stood to lose $80 billion over the next decade if the movement continues to expand.

Missy Ryan: US, Israel seek common ground on proxies amid divisions over Iran deal—From this outpost overlooking southern Lebanon, top U.S. and Israeli officials stood together Monday as they sought to play down divisions over last week’s nuclear deal with Tehran and get on with efforts to counter Iranian influence and other threats along Israel’s borders. The vantage point took in both Lebanon, where Israeli officials say Iran-backed Hezbollah fighters have amassed a huge arsenal of rockets aiming south, and the Golan Heights, beyond which Sunni extremists in Syria threaten one another and, potentially, Israel. Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter scanned the distant hills around this arid military outpost during the visit, hosted by Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon.

Dr. Ichak Kalderon Adizes: The Agreement with Iran: How Solid?— Years ago when Japan was an economic powerhouse and Americans were negotiating with Japan, a certain confusion occurred. The Americans would feel they had an agreement only to find out there was no agreement. Where did the confusion come from? The word “Yes” in Japanese is “Hai,” but it does not mean the same thing as “yes” in English. In English “yes” means “done deal, there is no need to talk more. We have come to a final agreement.” In Japanese, “Hai,” their “yes,” means: “I did not say no,” “we can continue talking.” It is more like a “maybe,” or a “yes” said with an upward intonation sound “yeeess…” not a “YES!!” This confusion has caused many American businessmen a lot of headache. They believed there was an oral agreement and they could proceed to write the contract when in reality there was no agreement. Is something similar happening now with Iran?

AP: Inside an ISIS camp, children trained in beheading—The children had all been shown videos of beheadings and told by their trainers with the Islamic State group that they would perform one someday. First, they had to practice technique. The more than 120 boys were each given a doll and a sword and told, cut off its head. A 14-year-old who was among the boys, all abducted from Iraq’s Yazidi religious minority, said he couldn’t cut it right. He chopped once, twice, three times. “Then they taught me how to hold the sword, and they told me how to hit. They told me it was the head of the infidels,” the boy, renamed Yahya by his ISIS captors, told The Associated Press last week in northern Iraq, where he fled after escaping the ISIS training camp. When Islamic State extremists overran Yazidi towns in northern Iraq last year, they butchered older men and enslaved many of the women and girls. Dozens of young Yazidi boys like Yahya had a different fate: The ISIS sought to re-educate them. They forced them to convert to Islam from their ancient faith and tried to turn them into jihadi fighters.

Burak Bekdil: Iran Nuclear Deal: Good and Bad News for Turkey— Officially, Turkey has welcomed the nuclear deal that the P5+1 bloc (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) reached with Iran, and the lifting of sanctions on its eastern neighbor. Ankara said that the deal 1) will contribute to the regional stability and economy; 2) will have a direct positive impact on Turkey; and 3) must be put into practice with full transparency. Ironically, such warm welcome from Ankara put Turkey into the same line as its worst regional nemesis, the Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad, who also welcomed the deal. “We are confident that the Islamic Republic of Iran will support, with greater drive, the just causes of nations, and work for peace and stability in the region and the world,” Assad said in a message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Denis MacEoin: The NGO Campaign to Destroy Israel— The Western world is full of charities that do nothing but good, such as fight disease; help the less fortunate, or offer legal protection. But there are other sorts of charities, the so-called non-governmental organizations (NGOs); these often work on the international stage, supposedly for human rights, humanitarian aid, and peace. These NGOs are funded by foundations, businesses, private persons — oh, and governments. They exist in astonishingly large numbers: 1.5 million in the US, 2 million in India, and thousands in Europe, over 500 of which are lobbyists in the European Parliament. The total income of OECD-linked NGOs amounts to around $16 billion. Unfortunately, some of these betray their love of humanity by adopting discriminatory policies. Many of these NGOs — especially those heavily dependent on government money — seem to be driven by an ideological or political commitment, and are inevitably drawn into political engagement.

Steve Apfel: Defeating Israel with Funny Law— The time-honored role of the exiled Jew was to be downtrodden, bearded and bookish. Then Zionist dreamers pulled a mini state out of the hat, and went on to win war after war. Even non-belligerents were bamboozled. The idea of military “Yids”, even without the victorious part, was a travesty. To put the clock back offended powers cloned a funny law to neuter the juggernaut. Afterwards, they hoped and trusted, mortal enemies would do what mortal enemies always did when Jews were downtrodden in exile. To the cognoscenti the funny law is known as IHL – International Humanitarian Law. Calls to indict Israel for war crimes rely on it implicitly, as well they might. IHL is an anti-Semite’s dream. Applied with careful malice it holds the means to transform Israel from a light unto the nations into a Lucifer with killing power. I devote a full chapter in my book, Hadrian’s Echo  to the liberties that Israel ‘critics’ take with IHL, and what a ready weapon it can be to make Jews pay for being strong. If the Chosen won’t succumb to physical onslaught, let them deal with morale-sapping verbal onslaught. Curse the life out of Israel!

Guy Millière: The West’s War Against Jihadi Terrorism Is Just Beginning— “I’ll see you guys in New York.” — Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, self-declared “Caliph” of ISIS. On May 23, 2013, U.S. President Barack Obama declared that the “war on terror” was over. In a public opinion survey conducted in 2006, in Egypt, Pakistan, Morocco and Indonesia, two third of respondents supported the idea of ”uniting all Muslim countries in a new caliphate.” On June 8, 2015, President Obama said his administration had “no strategy yet” for dealing with the Islamic State. The Islamic State does have a strategy. For now, Western countries are, at best, on the defensive. They dare not even identify the enemy. Rather than cautionary vigilance in the face of danger, today’s Western leaders are choosing willful blindness and appeasement.

Biden Tries to Convince American Jews to Welcome Iran Deal

SnyderTalk Comment: Will Jewish voters in the U.S. ever realize that Democrats have set the stage so that Israel is more vulnerable now than she has been since 1948?  Judging by their voting record, I have to conclude that the answer is “no”.  They even missed the significance of Democrats booing Yahweh at their 2012 national convention.  That’s hard to accept, but they did.

This is my take on it: it’s time for Jewish people in the U.S. to use a little common sense.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Exodus 15

22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore it was named Marah. 24 So the people grumbled at Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” 25 Then he cried out to Yahweh, and Yahweh showed him a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There He made for them a statute and regulation, and there He tested them. 26 And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of Yahweh your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, Yahweh, am your healer.” 27 Then they came to Elim where there were twelve springs of water and seventy date palms, and they camped there beside the waters.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Read His Name is Yahweh.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
