Man-Made Religion is Not from Yahweh

A CNN article by Shasta Darlington titled “‘Garage’ churches challenge Pope for the faithful” misses the mark:

In the dusty streets of Atucucho, on the outskirts of Quito, it’s hard to walk more than two blocks without bumping into an evangelical church.

In one cinder block church overlooking the city, parishioners sing and pray along with the Rev. Lema. Some break down in tears. Outside, children dressed in their church best play in the dirt.

These so-called “garage churches” have popped up in poor suburbs across Latin America, catering to communities that have been pushed to the periphery. Many of the pastors are local indigenous leaders.

They have become perhaps the biggest challenge for the Catholic Church in Latin America, where Pope Francis is on a weeklong, three-country tour.

According to the Pew Research Center, 92% of Latin Americans were Catholic in 1970, but that has dropped to 69%. Protestant congregations, on the other hand, are growing. The Pew data shows protestants were at 4% in 1970 and are currently at 19%.

On Saturday in Atucucho, young men and women carrying Bibles make the rounds visiting the sick and elderly.

“God put us on Earth for a reason,” said evangelical Lizbeth Quiroz, on her way from visiting a man who’d been in an accident. “And my reason is to visit those in need and talk to them about God.”

In Atucucho, which means “Place of the Sun” in the native Quechua language, there is one Catholic Church.

But with the emergence of Pope Francis, also a champion of the poor, there is renewed enthusiasm among Catholics.

The article is interesting, but it misses the most essential point.  I suspect that the “garage churches” she talks about are not Protestant churches or Catholic churches or churches of any denomination. They are believers who are simply following the leading of Yahweh’s Spirit.

The article would have been far more enlightening if Darlington understood what is happening right in front of her eyes.  Large and growing numbers of Yahweh’s people are realizing that institutional religion isn’t the answer.  It’s not even on the right path.

The typical church that I am familiar with reminds me of the people Yahweh was referring to in Ezekiel 34.  It begins with this:

1 Then the word of Yahweh came to me saying, 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to those shepherds, ‘Thus says Adonai Yahweh, “Woe, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flock? 3 You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat sheep without feeding the flock. 4 Those who are sickly you have not strengthened, the diseased you have not healed, the broken you have not bound up, the scattered you have not brought back, nor have you sought for the lost; but with force and with severity you have dominated them. 5 They were scattered for lack of a shepherd, and they became food for every beast of the field and were scattered. 6 My flock wandered through all the mountains and on every high hill; My flock was scattered over all the surface of the earth, and there was no one to search or seek for them.”’”

7 Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of Yahweh: 8 “As I live,” declares Adonai Yahweh, “surely because My flock has become a prey, My flock has even become food for all the beasts of the field for lack of a shepherd, and My shepherds did not search for My flock, but rather the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock; 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of Yahweh: 10 ‘Thus says Adonai Yahweh, “Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand My sheep from them and make them cease from feeding sheep. So the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore, but I will deliver My flock from their mouth, so that they will not be food for them.”’”

In Ezekiel 34, Yahweh was talking about restoring Israel.  Right now all over the world, He’s restoring the faithful remnant—Jews and Gentiles.  He’s taking us out of institutional religion and leading us Himself.  The reason why is simple: institutional religion is abhorrent to Yahweh.

I won’t give you a long list of examples to prove my point, but I could.  Instead, I’ll give you one: the Catholic Church providing safe havens for homosexual, pedophile priests.

Darlington has a hard time grasping what’s taking place because it’s not a paradigm that she understands, and she’s not alone.  Many people who attend church or synagogue regularly don’t understand it.  It’s so different from anything they know that they can’t comprehend it.  Even if you explain it to them, most of them still won’t get it.  That’s why Yahweh has to do it Himself.

Darlington thinks about the “church” as a religious institution with buildings and other trappings including a leader like the pope, but it’s not about religion.  It’s about faith in Yahweh and following Him.

Yahweh’s people are coming out of institutional religion so they can follow Him.  All those nonsensical rules and regulations that religious leaders embrace and enforce are not from Yahweh.  For example, forbidding priests from marrying is absurd.  That didn’t come from Yahweh.  There are many more examples.

As Yahweh told Ezekiel, “Behold, I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out.” (Ezekiel 34: 11)  That’s exactly what He is doing in Latin America, Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the U.S.  He’s even doing it in Israel.

The Messiah was talking about it in Matthew 11:

28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

He was telling His followers to come out of the artificial religion that the rabbis had made up and to follow Him instead.  Bottom line: this isn’t new.  It’s been an essential part of Yahweh’s message all along.

I believe that the process we are witnessing of Yahweh’s people coming out of religion is one of the clearest signs that the Day of Yahweh is not far off.  It’s time to stop playing church and get on board with Yahweh’s plan.

I suspect that the anti-Messiah will come from institutional religion.  People who don’t know any better will follow him.  Yahweh’s people won’t.

Jews News: Obama: Americans need to shift religious views to accept gay marriage—After the Supreme Court issued its ruling on gay marriage Friday, President Obama gave a speech in which he said Americans need to change their religious views to be accepting of gay marriage, the Daily Caller reported. To that end, he encouraged gay marriage supporters to “help” people overcome their deeply-held religious views. “I know that Americans of goodwill continue to hold a wide range of views on this issue,” he said. Initially, he exhibited a bit of respect for those who oppose same-sex marriage. “Opposition in some cases has been based on sincere and deeply held beliefs,” he said. “All of us who welcome today’s news should be mindful of that fact. Recognize different viewpoints. Revere our deep commitment to religious freedom.” “But today should also give us hope that on the many issues with which we grapple often painfully real change is possible,” he added. The implication was clear: Those who disagree with the idea of gay marriage based, for example, on their religious views, must change to be more like progressives who accept gay marriage.

SnyderTalk Comment: Rejoicing over evil is a sign of our times.  The day is coming when the celebrations will end and the agony will begin.

Quote: “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.” George Orwell

Flashback: The video below is an interview with Obama in 2008.  Nothing has changed.  He never believed what he said.  He just wanted to be president.  In 2008, a person who supported “gay marriage” could not have been elected President of the United States.  In 2016, it’s possible that a person who wants to be president will have to embrace same-sex marriage.  That gives you some idea how quickly things can change.  We’ll see.

Charles Krauthammer: The Worst Agreement in U.S. Diplomatic History— The devil is not in the details. It’s in the entire conception of the Iran deal, animated by President Obama’s fantastical belief that he, uniquely, could achieve detente with a fanatical Islamist regime whose foundational purpose is to cleanse the Middle East of the poisonous corruption of American power and influence. In pursuit of his desire to make the Islamic Republic into an accepted, normalized “successful regional power,” Obama decided to take over the nuclear negotiations. At the time, Tehran was reeling — the rial plunging, inflation skyrocketing, the economy contracting — under a regime of international sanctions painstakingly constructed over a decade. Then, instead of welcoming Congress’ attempt to tighten sanctions to increase the pressure on the mullahs, Obama began the negotiations by loosening sanctions, injecting billions into the Iranian economy (which began growing again in 2014) and conceding in advance an Iranian right to enrich uranium. It’s been downhill ever since. Desperate for a legacy deal, Obama has played the supplicant, abandoning every red line his administration had declared essential to any acceptable deal.

Eliezer Sherman: Iran: All Nuclear Activities Will Continue Under Final Deal—The nuclear deal with Iran facing a deadline on Tuesday will ensure the country’s nuclear activities can continue, Iranian media reported. “According to the technical annex, all the nuclear activities of Iran will continue,” an Iranian diplomatic source party to the nuclear talks in Vienna this week told semi-official state news agency Fars. The official spoke with knowledge of the technical annex in the final deal, one of five annexes currently being deliberated among negotiators from Tehran and six world powers: the U.S., U.K., Russia, China, France and Germany. The so-called technical annex covers issues such as “nuclear research and development, [the] Fordo nuclear enrichment center, [the] Arak heavy water reactor, and the type of the centrifuges that will be used by Iran for the production of stable isotopes.” While the State Department had called for dismantling Iran’s nuclear infrastructure in the past, the Obama administration softened that line in the several months since a framework agreement was announced at Lausanne, Switzerland.

Andrew Bowen: The Toxic Iran Deal— Naïve optimism has enveloped the “final” hours of talks between Washington and Tehran on a nuclear agreement. In pursuit of a legacy defining achievement, President Obama has put everything on the line to secure a deal at the expense of both Washington’s allies and the U.S.’ long-term strategic interests in the Middle East. While there has been a vociferous amount of criticism about these negotiations from the beginning, this criticism in Washington at times has been misplaced. It’s not so much that a nuclear deal in it of itself is a poor strategic objective, as many of his critics would argue. More so, President Obama lost control of the negotiating process from the beginning. The final agreement, likely to be reached next week in Geneva, is a deeply, flawed deal. Instead of negotiating consistently from a position of strength, the U.S.’s repeated concessions have empowered Iran to gain concessions that the White House in the past said were deal breakers. Taking advantage of Washington’s use of setting artificial negotiating deadlines, Tehran has repeatedly gone on the offense drawing these negotiations into the final hours to see whether the P5+1 would blink first. In most cases, Washington blinks and the terms of the agreement are further watered down.

Massimo Calabresi: Here’s the Trickiest Part of the Iranian Nuclear Talks—After more than 18 months of talks, the U.S. and Iran are within striking distance of a nuclear deal. But diplomats familiar with the talks say the hardest issue negotiators have struggled with from the start remains unresolved: the nature and extent of international inspections to monitor the supposedly peaceful nuclear program Iran gets to keep under the agreement. Which means the final push for a deal is probably the most important. The heart of the interim “political framework” that the U.S. and Iran agreed to on April 2 was a step-by-step-lifting of economic sanctions on Tehran in exchange for its commitment to allow international monitors to verify tough limits on its nuclear program. But the outline left unresolved just how much access the monitors would get and what would happen if there were a disagreement. “The interim deal was largely silent on verification conditions,” says David Albright, a former arms inspector and the president of Institute for Science and International Security.

Shiryn Ghermezian: Michael Douglas on Iran Nuclear Deal: People Think US is Being ‘Played for the Patsy’—Famed actor Michael Douglas weighed in on the Iran nuclear deal currently being negotiated in Vienna, saying that in Europe and Israel people believe the U.S. is being duped by Iran, the Los Angeles Times reported on Monday. “There are people in Europe and Israel who feel we’re [the U.S.] really being played for [the] patsy, that we do not understand,” said Douglas, who recently received the prestigious Genesis Prize for his contributions to Jewish life. “There are parties that seem to know a lot and are concerned” that if economic sanctions are lifted, Iran will have more funds to aid militants while working to procure a nuclear weapon, he continued.

SnyderTalk Comment: Saying that Iran is playing the U.S. for a “patsy” or that the U.S. is being “duped” by Iran are the most beneficent interpretations of the facts possible.

I believe that Obama is accomplishing exactly what he hopes to accomplish.  In other words, I think that he has sinister motives and that Israel is his target.  Worst of all, he’s doing it with enthusiastic support in the U.S. from leftists and the Democrat Party.  That means as citizens of the U.S. we are all culpable—just like the Germans who elected Hitler.

Once the genie is out of the bottle, Yahweh will have to put him back in.

The outcome of a war is never certain until it’s over.  By that I mean we are heading for a global war, and the Iran nuclear deal is a part of it.  Once Iran has the bomb, the world as we know it will change dramatically.

Iran is a malevolent country with evil ambitions.  Iran’s leaders want to rule the world under Sharia law.  Israel is Iran’s first non-Muslim target.  That’s what they have said repeatedly for years.  It’s foolish not to believe them.

Bruce Kennedy: The economic spasm that could overshadow Greece—While much of the financial community’s attention is riveted on Greece’s debt crisis, another economic drama is playing out in China that could have a far great impact on the global economy. China’s stock markets have been falling rapidly for nearly a month, and by last week had dropped about 30 percent from its highs in mid-June. The plunge has erased $2.8 trillion in market value, or roughly 10 times the size of Greece’s gross domestic product. Chinese regulators have responded by halting initial public offerings, while hundreds of companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges have asked that trading in their shares be suspended. That helped bring stocks in China out of their dive on Monday. Yet many analysts, in China and abroad, are wondering where all this volatility might lead.

Avner Zarmi: A Dilemma and an Opportunity: Syria’s Civil War Knocks at Israel’s Northern Gate—Roughly 20% of Israel’s population is not Jewish. While the vast majority of her non-Jewish citizens speak Arabic as their native language, to assume that this makes them all “Arabs” is a vast over-simplification. Israel is home to numerous minority Christian denominations as well as Muslims, and the world headquarters of the Baha’i movement is to be found in the port city of Haifa. Another major minority is the 140,000-strong Druze community, mostly inhabiting a string of villages in the far north. The Druze are practitioners of a distinctive, monotheistic religion all their own (though foreigners call them “Druze” after one of their early preachers, they ordinarily call themselves Muwahhidūn, “Unifiers” or “Unitarians”). The Druze spill over the Israeli border, and there are many more of them living in southern Lebanon (some 250,000) and southern Syria (some 700,000), as well as a smaller number of Jordanians (ca. 32,000). Regarded as heretical by orthodox Muslims and heathens by Christians, the Druze have often been the focus of discrimination, suppression, and massacre at the hands of both. This has tended to make them a very tight-knit society, and has also given them a certain sympathy for the Jewish majority in Israel. The Druze gladly serve in the Israel Defense Forces (where some occupy senior positions) and Israeli police.

Lee Smith: Has the Obama Administration Become Iran’s Lawyer?— The smart money here in Vienna is on the likelihood of a nuclear deal between the U.S. and Iran being finalized at any moment. Maybe it will happen today with the White House showing the good manners to wait until after Americans have returned from their July 4 vacations to announce that they’ve cleared the way for Iran to get a bomb. Or maybe the Iranians will get the bomb in a little more than a decade, as the president of the United States has explained, but it will probably happen much sooner. And when the clerical regime does finally break out, the chances are they’re the Iranians will be the ones who are going to let the American public know because our elected officials seem to be keeping information from us and our allies when it comes to all things Iran. Indeed, it looks like the Obama administration has become Iran’s lawyer. In both making Tehran’s case to U.S. allies (from the White House’s P5+1 negotiating partners, to Middle East friends like Israel and Saudi Arabia), and shaping public perception of Iranian actions, the White House has made itself an indispensable friend to the clerical regime. Iran doesn’t have to worry about justifying its behavior—like its failure to meet obligations under the interim nuclear agreement and its outright lies—because it knows the administration will do all the heavy lifting.

SnyderTalk Comment: Watching the Obama administration lobby for Iran is shocking.  The fact that Obama still has political support is disheartening.

Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz: Leading Israeli rabbi says the Messiah’s return is imminent— Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, a leading authority in mainstream Ultra-Orthodox Judaism, has been giving clear and unequivocal messages recently that the coming of the Messiah is imminent. He is urging Jews to make Aliyah as soon as possible. Aliyah, the Hebrew verb for “going up”, refers to immigrating to Israel, which is seen as higher spiritual action that can help herald in the coming of the Messiah. It was reported that the Rabbi Kanievsky was presented with a pamphlet, written by Rabbi Yitzchak Ben Tzvi from the city of Bnei Brak, dealing with the End of Days and many other related prophecies. Rabbi Kanievsky, who is a pillar of the Jewish community and known for his authoritative books on Torah law, read the pamphlet carefully.  After a short consideration, he told those around him that the pamphlet needed to be distributed and that Jews living outside Israel should return to their ancestral land. In yet another instance of Rabbi Kanievsky’s call for aliyah, author Rabbi Yekutiel Fisch revealed advice that was given to his cousin, a teacher at a prominent Lakewood Yeshiva who visited Israel recently and went to Rabbi Kanievsky to receive a blessing at the end of his visit.

SnyderTalk Comment: Imminent, yes.  Exactly when, I don’t know.  A lot of things still have to happen, but they can happen very quickly under the right conditions.

When the Messiah returns, Jewish people in Israel will understand who He is.  He is Yahweh.

Charles Moore: We Cannot Appease the Islamists—Islamism is unappeasable because it is a doctrine, not a set of demands. It purports to prove that a conspiracy of anti-Muslim capitalist forces runs the world: America, Britain, the Jews. In this crazy but coherent account, it becomes possible to believe, as millions of Muslims apparently do, that it was the Jews who bombed the World Trade Center. According to the Islamist story, the only just form of rule is the restoration of the caliphate which the West destroyed. The role of devout Muslims is to be the vanguard. Islamism is declaredly determined to overthrow our way of life. It is not paranoid to say that there is a deadly enemy within, and not intolerant to want to defeat it.

SnyderTalk Comment: That’s right.  We can’t appease Islamists.  We shouldn’t even try because it makes no sense.

Eyal Zisser: The ISIS threat: From north to south— The Islamic State group’s attack in the northern Sinai Peninsula last week raised a justified concern in Israel about the possibility that the group may try to carry out similar attacks against Israeli soldiers along the Israel-Egypt border. A few days later, Islamic State sent Israel a reminder of its existence, a warning of things come, with the launch of a few rockets from the Sinai border and the claim that Israel is helping the Egyptian army fight the group. But Islamic State does not need an excuse to attack Israel. Its operatives (in their previous incarnation as Ansar Bait al-Maqdis) have already fired rockets at Eilat in recent years, and in 2012, they carried out a terrorist attack on Route 12 along the Israeli-Egyptian border, killing eight Israeli citizens and soldiers. And yet something has changed in the Sinai Peninsula recently. The attack on the Egyptian army outposts proves that Islamic State has grown under the watchful eyes of Israel and Egypt, and now it is no longer just a few hidden terror cells carrying out local targeted attacks and returning to their hiding places.

Pnina Sharvit Baruch and Keren Aviram: Disregarding Reality, Yet Again: The Human Rights Council Commission of Inquiry Report— The report by the Commission of Inquiry appointed by the UN Human Rights Council to examine the events surrounding Operation Protective Edge was published on June 22, 2015. As expected, the report criticizes Israel, concluding that its military operations violated the laws of armed conflict and expressing concern regarding the possible commission of war crimes. In comparison to previous reports (such as the Goldstone report, which examined Operation Cast Lead), the new report is carefully worded. Yet despite the commission’s attempt to present the report as a professional and balanced document, the result is extremely problematic. The report’s misguided and unprofessional analysis of combat actions taken in populated areas is based on erroneous methodology, unrealistic expectations, and standards that exceed those contained in the laws of armed conflict and applied by other military forces in the world. This is potentially detrimental not only to Israel, but also to the ability of other law abiding countries to confront similar challenges of warfare.

Samuel Westrop: Britain’s Political Extremists— In the wake of Britain’s general election, candidates with ties to anti-Semitic extremists and terror groups are standing for important political positions. In May, George Galloway declared that he was vying to become Mayor of London. Those concerned with Galloway’s work with the Syrian and Iranian regimes expressed dismay at the news. Now, a month later, the Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn is running for leadership of Britain’s Labour Party, with the support of George Galloway. In 2010, Britain’s media watchdog, OFCOM, censured Galloway and Corbyn, after Corbyn appeared on Galloway’s television program — broadcast by the Iranian regime’s channel, Press TV. OFCOM ruled that Galloway’s description of Israel as a “terrorist gangster…miscreant, law breaking, rogue, war launching, occupying state,” and Corbyn’s call for economic sanctions against the world’s only Jewish state, “did not show due impartiality.”

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Exodus 14

5 When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his servants had a change of heart toward the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?” 6 So he made his chariot ready and took his people with him; 7 and he took six hundred select chariots, and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them. 8 Yahweh hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he chased after the sons of Israel as the sons of Israel were going out boldly. 9 Then the Egyptians chased after them with all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and they overtook them camping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
