Obama’s Deceit and Democratic Party Complicity

Caroline Glick is an American-born and educated Israeli journalist who has keen insights on both Israel and the United States.  In Israel, she has had extensive government and military experience.  In a recent op-ed titled “Obama the virtuoso manager”, Glick says that President Obama did not misstep his way into the “blunders” for which he has become so infamous.

He planned them with meticulous precision to achieve his higher order goals and used trickery to conceal his deceit.  Those are my words, not Glick’s, but her message was essentially the same—give or take a little.  She said that Obama has given a “virtuoso” performance probably because she wanted to be kind, but I see it as something else.

Obama’s snubbing of Israel’s Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon a couple of days ago wasn’t a mistake or a social gaffe, and neither was his snubbing of Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu more than 4 years ago was.  When asked if he intended to slight Netanyahu, Obama said, “No.”  He would say the same thing about snubbing Ya’alon.  Lying is second nature to Obama and members of his administration.

Obama wanted to send Ya’alon and Netanyahu a message.  He was telling them that they must dance to his tune or suffer the consequences and that they should never criticize him or his appointees even when their actions threaten Israel’s security.

How many Iranian government officials has Obama treated so rudely and childishly?  The answer is “zero”.  It looks as though Obama is about to give the Iranians a license to kill with nuclear weapons.  Who will the Iranians target first?  Israel.

With friends like Obama, Israel doesn’t need enemies.

What does the Obama administration’s treatment of Israeli officials tell us about his true feelings toward our nation’s most reliable ally?  A lot and nothing is good.

Deceit is Obama’s Stock-in-Trade

The birth certificate issue is a perfect example of Obama’s use of deceit.   While his staunchest critics were pursuing his place of birth with reckless abandon because they thought that they could use the issue to discredit him, he went about his real business unimpeded.  It was like giving a toy to a small child so that the kid wouldn’t get in his way while he worked.

There have been many other rabbit trails leading to nowhere, far too many of them to be coincidental, and there is no shortage of conspiracy theorists.  They see a boogeyman behind every tree.  Conspiracy theorists are not wrong all the time and they may be right about Obama’s birth certificate, but this is certain: they are so anxious to jump at whatever Obama lays out there that they make themselves look foolish even if they are right.

The president needs conspiracy theorists, and he wants the media to obsess.  The media plays its role like they work for him, and the general public has been in the dark about Obama’s real intentions.

Magicians call it sleight-of-hand or misdirection.  I call it lying.

Deceit is a legitimate part of the president’s job especially during times of war, but 24/7 lying is another matter.  Lying is the only part of the presidency that Obama has mastered, and it’s the only thing about Obama that you can count on.

What are Obama’s real objectives?

To understand what Obama really wants to accomplish, you have to ignore his words and focus on his actions.  This is a short list of things that Obama has actually done:

  • He has mainstreamed homosexuality.
  • He has strengthened the position of those who support premeditated murder of unborn children.
  • He has enriched unions.
  • He sold Obamacare to Democrats in the House and Senate with barefaced lies. That was his first venture as president.  The public never bought into Obamacare, and their animosity toward Obama and Democrats is growing by the day as we learn more about it.
  • He has weakened the U.S. military and the U.S. economy.
  • He has punished the U.S. energy sector and rewarded his friends and supporters in alternate energy with huge, indefensible contracts. They are folding right and left.
  • He has targeted social conservatives because they disagree with his policies.
  • He has moved aggressively to make the U.S. a socialist state along the lines of the European model.
  • He has elevated the U.N. in the eyes of the world.
  • He has added to the national debt as though there are no consequences.
  • He has worked tirelessly to undermine Israel. I would argue that that’s his top priority.

For almost 6 years, Obama has done exactly what he wanted to do without meaningful interference, and the public went on its merry way as though everything was hunky-dory.  It took public beheadings of American citizens by ISIS and Ebola to get their undivided attention.

America is finally Waking Up

Recent polling data shows that Americans are beginning to see through Obama’s shenanigans.  They are beginning to suspect that he can’t be trusted on any issue, foreign or domestic.  They are right.

The beheadings help to explain why.  When videos of people getting their heads cut off hit the internet, Obama hurriedly took to the airwaves to assure us that Islam is a peaceful religion.  He even said that Islamists aren’t Muslims.  As absurd as that statement is, 6 years ago most Americans would have bought it.  Obama’s liberal supporters still do, but after witnessing two gruesome executions, his explanation didn’t sell with thinking people.  In fact, it raised serious questions in their minds about Obama’s truthfulness in general.

Some Muslims really do want to kill us.  They may not represent the majority of Muslims, but they are a strong, committed, vocal, and violent minority.  Radical Muslims may be young boys or young men like the two Boston bombers, or they may be self-radicalized lone wolves like the man who killed the New York City policeman with a hatchet on the streets of the city in broad daylight.

Do you feel safer than you did 6 years ago?

For 6 long years, Obama has been preaching that people who think that Islamists are trying to kill us are “Islamophobes” and that Islamist terrorist groups like ISIS are on the ropes.  Later, he said that ISIS is a JV squad.  None of that is true, and it doesn’t wash anymore except among the shrinking cadre of diehard, soul-sick, ideologue Obama supporters.  They aren’t stupid.  They’re just ignorant, foolish, and partisan through-and-through.  Virtually all of them are Democrats.

Then came Ebola, and Obama’s credibility is evaporating faster than a San Diego morning mist.

Democratic Party and “Christian” Complicity in Obama’s Deceit

Obama couldn’t have gotten away with deceiving the public for so long without Democrats—especially Democratic members of the House and Senate.  They were complicit in everything he did.  I doubt that many people outside of the Democratic Party who voted for Obama realized what they were supporting, but they share responsibility, too, because their votes won the presidency for him twice.  There are not enough Democrats in the United States to elect a president.

Obama’s “Christian” supporters have been huge disappointments.  To back the president, they had to reject Yahweh’s word and accept Obama’s immoral principles.  They should have known better because they supported things that Yahweh abhors—things like homosexuality as an acceptable alternate lifestyle and premeditated murder of unborn children both of which are loathsome to our Creator.

“Christians” also had to turn their backs on Israel to support Obama.  All of Yahweh’s promises were made to and through the Children of Israel.  His most important promise, the Messiah, was fulfilled through Judah—the Jews.  We call their homeland the Promised Land because Yahweh promised it to Abraham’s descendants through Isaac and Jacob/Israel.

Obama has done everything that he can think of to prevent Yahweh from fulfilling His promises, and his “Christian” supporters have been in lockstep with him every inch of the way.  “Christian” support for Obama’s maneuvering in Israel and the Middle East tells us a lot about who they are and what they believe.

Yahweh is the God of Truth

Obama’s “Christian” supporters are deluded at best.  Paul’s admonition to the people of Thessalonica explains what I think is happening:

“For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will kill him with the breath of His mouth and destroy him by the splendor of His coming. This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.” (2 Thessalonians 2: 7-12)

Yahweh is the God of truth.  Eventually, the truth gets out.  That’s happening now.  Will enough Christian voters accept the truth before the mid-term elections to make a difference at the polls?

We’ll know the answer in a few days.

Soeren Kern: Germany: Holy War Erupts in Hamburg— Parts of downtown Hamburg, the second-largest city in Germany, resembled a war zone after hundreds of supporters of the jihadist group Islamic State [IS] engaged in bloody street clashes with ethnic Kurds. The violence—which police say was as ferocious as anything seen in Germany in recent memory—is fuelling a sense of foreboding about the spillover effects of the fighting in Syria and Iraq. Some analysts believe that rival Muslim groups in Germany are deliberately exploiting the ethnic and religious tensions in the Middle East to stir up trouble on the streets of Europe. The unrest began on the evening of October 7, when around 400 Kurds gathered outside the Al-Nour mosque near the central train station in Hamburg’s St. George district to protest against IS attacks on the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani.

Dore Gold: Defensible Borders in the Age of IS— How has the tumult in the Middle East affected the debate over Israel’s territorial requirements? For an answer, Mosaic approached Dore Gold, head of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, who has long promoted the concept of defensible borders primarily as a means of meeting Israel’s security needs in the West Bank. Our exchange was conducted by email. Q. Before we get to the idea of “defensible borders” itself, can you begin by telling us about your involvement in it? A: I became immersed in this issue when I was serving as foreign-policy adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his first term in the late 1990s. I was tasked with converting the IDF’s “Interests Map” for the West Bank into a form that could be presented to President Bill Clinton; I joined the prime minister for that presentation in the White House Map Room. Four years later, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon asked me to condense the work for his meeting in the Oval Office with President George W. Bush.

Reuven Berko: Peace According to Radical Islam— England is debating whether to outlaw the Muslim Brotherhood, the religious, ideological and operative supporter of Hamas. Various political pressures, however, have prevented British security from designating the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. One can hope that the ISIS execution of American correspondent James Foley, carried out by a British-born Muslim, would be a wake-up call for not only the British, but all the European security services. The chilling similarity between the horror of Foley’s execution at the hands of a British-born ISIS operative and the Hamas execution of dozens of Gazans, as well as the ISIS slaughter of hundreds of virtually naked Syrian soldiers, should have sounded alarm bells regarding the dangers inherent in the fermenting Islamic enclaves in America and Europe. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case. The West’s decades-long apathy toward Hamas’ attacks on Israeli civilians turned into shock and horror when the Hamas’ sister organization, ISIS, used the same tactics on Yazidis, Christians, Shi’ites, Kurds and anyone else the group classified as “infidel.”

Jonathon Spyer: The Sunni-Shia War Reaches Lebanon—Hezbollah is under pressure as the consequences of its ongoing intervention in Syria have come back to bite the terrorist organization. There are increasing indications that the sectarian war raging in Iraq and Syria is now moving irrevocably into Lebanon. The Shi’ite group is currently seeking to shore up its legitimacy by reminding its constituents, and other Lebanese citizens, of the role that gains it the most domestic sympathy – resistance against Israel. It is likely the strike at Mount Dov last week was part of this effort. It is also, in its propaganda, somewhat oddly trying to assert that Israel and the Sunni jihadis of the Nusra Front and Islamic State are allies. All this activity comes as the Nusra Front is demonstrating its ability to hit at Hezbollah across the border with increasing impunity. Attacks by Sunnis in Lebanon are not new, and similar incidents have taken place throughout the Syrian civil war.

Boaz Bismuth: Hell-bent on a bad deal—In May 2013, the U.S. Senate, with an astounding 99-0 majority vote, called for tougher sanctions against the mullah regime in Iran. The rest is known: Six months passed, and in November that same year an interim agreement was signed in Geneva between the mullah regime and the word powers that was supposed to lead to a permanent agreement, perhaps even as soon as Nov. 24, 2014. There are no assurances that a deal will indeed be signed, which could mean yet another deadline extension for the negotiations. However, there is also no guarantee that when all is said and done, as stated Monday in the New York Times, we won’t be facing a reality where Iran sanctions are “suspended,” Iran is allowed to keep thousands of centrifuges (estimates put the number at around 5,000 of the 9,000 they currently possess), and above all — and this is perhaps the most important point of the NY Times article — the American Congress, the responsible adult in this story, is neutralized and kept out of the picture. All this so the American president can notch his most significant foreign policy deal. A deal at all costs, even if it is a bad one.

Michael Curtis: Russia and Israel: A Beautiful Friendship?— When Bob Dylan sang “For the times they are a-changin’” he was not referring to relations between Israel and Russia, but his lyrics might just fit at the present time. No one can speak of a Russian tropical heat wave towards Israel but it isn’t surprising the temperature’s rising. The relationship may be heading to a beautiful friendship if not the beginning of love. The change has come as a result of President Vladimir Putin’s direction of foreign policy. That direction does not come from any love of Israel or the Jewish people, or from any ideological reorientation. It results from Putin’s concern for Russian national interest.

Peter Beaumont: Israel is changing, and suddenly Binyamin Netanyahu looks vulnerable— A few weeks is a long time in Israeli politics. In August, at the height of the Gaza war, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s standing among Israelis was untouchable. Now, almost two months after the ceasefire, the talk in the Israeli media is about tensions within his crumbling rightwing coalition, early elections, and whether Netanyahu can reinvent himself politically. In private, Netanyahu has reportedly told allies he does not believe his coalition can survive more than a few months. In public, Netanyahu has been more bullish, telling guests at a surprise 65th birthday party that the last thing Israel needs is elections, a message he repeated to his cabinet on Wednesday. The question is whether his coalition partners – or even members of his own party – are listening.

Michael Williams: Sykes-Picot drew lines in the Middle East’s sand that blood is washing away— Last week British Foreign Secretary Phillip Hammond said the struggle against Islamic State was “effectively Iraq’s last chance as nation state.” That somber assessment followed his visit to Iraq a few days earlier, where he had used the expression “last chance saloon” to describe Iraq’s dire predicament. Iraq, like Syria, was a consequence of World War One and of the infamous, in Arab eyes, agreement between Sir Mark Sykes and Francois-Georges Picot which led to the division of the former Ottoman Turkish domains by the two leading European powers, Britain and France. That agreement, now almost a century old, appears in tatters, as both countries are broken, exhausted by years of war and sectarian division for which there is no easy repair. In that regard, we might look to Eastern Europe after 1989 for precedents.

Khaled Abu Toameh: Abbas’s Responsibility for Murder— While Hamas’s rockets and suicide bombers have been killing Israelis over the past twenty-five years, the Palestinian Authority’s rhetoric has not been less lethal. In fact, it is this fiery rhetoric that has created the inviting atmosphere for launching terrorist attacks against Israel, such as the attack that took place in Jerusalem on Wednesday, October 22. Chaya Zissel Braun, a three-month-old infant, was killed when a Palestinian man slammed his vehicle into a crowd of people at a light rail stop in the city. Nine people were injured, three seriously, in the attack. The Palestinian who carried out the attack was identified as 20-year-old Abdel Rahman al-Shalodi of the Silwan neighborhood in east Jerusalem. He was shot on the scene and later died in hospital. Abbas and the Palestinian Authority [PA] cannot avoid responsibility for killing the baby.

Khaled Abu Toameh: What The “Two State Solution” Has to Do with the Rise of Islamic Extremism: Zero— U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s claim that the lack of a “two-state solution” has fueled the rise of the Islamic State [IS] terrorist group reinforces how clueless the U.S. Administration is about what is happening in the Arab and Islamic countries. Speaking at a State Department ceremony marking the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, Kerry said that the resumption of peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians was vital in the fight against Islamic extremism, including Islamic State. “There wasn’t a leader I met with in the region who didn’t raise with me spontaneously the need to try to get peace between Israel and the Palestinians, because it was a cause of recruitment and of street anger and agitation,” Kerry said. “People need to understand the connection of that. And it has something to do with the humiliation and denial and absence of dignity.” The U.S. State Department later denied that Kerry had made the statement attributed to him.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 35: 1-8

1 Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and live there, and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.” 2 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods which are among you, and purify yourselves and change your garments; 3 and let us arise and go up to Bethel, and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.” 4 So they gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which they had and the rings which were in their ears, and Jacob hid them under the oak which was near Shechem.

5 As they journeyed, there was a great terror upon the cities which were around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob. 6 So Jacob came to Luz (that is, Bethel), which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him. 7 He built an altar there, and called the place El-bethel, because there God had revealed Himself to him when he fled from his brother. 8 Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the oak; it was named Allon-bacuth.

SnyderTalk Comment: The Bethel referred to here is Jerusalem.  Read His Name is Yahweh.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
