Caroline Glick—Israel bashers’ phony contrition:

Dr. Richard Horton, the editor of the English medical journal The Lancet, was not transformed by his visit to Israel last week.

Horton came to Israel last week the guest of Rambam Medical Center in a bid to dig himself out of the hole he dug himself into. On August 19 Horton published a 1,600-word letter criminalizing Israel. In it, Israel was accused of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity. The authors called for a boycott of Israel, including Israeli academia. Since its publication on Lancet’s website, the letter has garnered 20,000 signatures.

The letter made no mention of the fact that the war this summer was initiated by Hamas through its illegal missile, mortar and rocket offensive against Israeli population centers. The esteemed medical professionals who wrote the letter failed to mention that Hamas’s operational headquarters was located in Shifa hospital in Gaza. And of course, they ignored the underlying fact that Hamas’s entire campaign against Israel was a crime against humanity.

Immediately following its publication, Prof. Gerald Steinberg, the head of NGO Monitor, exposed that the letter’s principal authors are frothing-at-the-mouth anti-Semites. Dr. Paola Manduca and Dr. Swee Ang disseminated a video entitled, CNN, Goldman Sachs & the Zio Matrix. It was produced by the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke.

SnyderTalk Comment: Israel bashing is contemporary anti-Semitism.  Whether it’s hatred of Jewish people or their homeland, it’s wrong; it’s immoral; and it’s in direct opposition to Yahweh’s promises.

No nation on earth today is perfect so every nation is subject to criticism, even Israel, but anti-Semites aren’t rational, objective, or fair.  They are “frothing-at-the-mouth” haters of Jewish people and Israel, period.  They try to hide the true feelings by saying that they aren’t against Jewish people as a race and that they are simply opposed to Israel.  That distinction is meaningless, transparent, and preposterous.

This is the bottom line: people who oppose Yahweh have no idea Who they are up against or what the consequence is for their behavior.  Israel is the only nation on the planet with a claim to territory that is based solely on Yahweh’s specific promises.  So the question is do you believe Yahweh?

A word to the wise: Yahweh always wins.  You don’t want to be on the opposing team.  The consequence for opposing Yahweh and losing defies description.

SnyderTalk Comment: Arabs refer to Mount Carmel as El-Maharrakah.  It means the place where God’s fire came down.

Yahweh is El, and His fire will come down again.  I know that because He said it, and it’s going to happen no matter what anyone thinks.

Yahweh doesn’t take polls, and He doesn’t rule by majority vote.  In fact, He told us about the end at the beginning.

Raymond Ibrahim: U.S. Denies Visa to Victim of Boko Haram— The deplorable state of religious freedom in the Islamic world really came to the fore in May with the arrest, imprisonment, and death sentencing of a pregnant Christian wife and mother on the accusation that she had left Islam for Christianity. On May 15, Meriam Ibrahim of Sudan, after repeatedly refusing to convert to Islam, was sentenced to being flogged with 100 lashes, followed by being hanged for apostasy. During her 6-month imprisonment, with her one-year-old son by her side, she gave birth to another child. The girl was born with disabilities due to the harsh conditions of the prison cell in which she was delivered, and the chains with which her “apostate” mother was still shackled as she gave birth. Because Meriam Ibrahim’s plight made it to the mainstream media, however, Sudan released Ibrahim and her children in June.

Hurriyet Daily News: How the ISIL fire in Syria burned 22 Turkish cities: In four questions— 1- WHAT IS HAPPENING IN TURKEY? At least 14 people were killed and scores of protesters, as well as policemen, were injured in clashes throughout Turkey on Oct. 7. The highest toll was in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır with eight deaths. Other eastern provinces including Van, Batman, Siirt, Muş, Mardin, Şanlurfa, Bitlis, Adıyaman, Hakkari, Tunceli and Şırnak also witnessed protests that led to casualties and arrests. Thirty people, including eight policemen, were injured in Istanbul, while 98 protesters were detained, according to the Istanbul governorate. A group of masked protesters barricaded a road in Ankara before being dispersed by the police. İzmir, another western metropolis, saw 26 arrests. Adana, Antakya, Osmaniye, Antalya, Eskişehir, Denizli and Kocaeli are other cities where protests were staged.

Anne Gearan: New group plans to spotlight secret funding for Islamic State militants— The sudden rise of the well-armed, well-financed and media-savvy Islamic State militant group could not have come about unless unscrupulous companies and individuals slipped money to the group or did business with it, said founders of a new, private research and advocacy group that will seek to expose such dealings and apply pressure to stop them. “They’ve taken great advantage of modern communications and modern financial techniques” to promote themselves, recruit followers and amass money and weapons, said Mark D. Wallace, a former Bush administration diplomat and lawyer heading the new organization, which will formally launch Monday. “There’s been an absence of people operating to counter that.”

Eli Sugarman: What The United States Can Learn From Israel About Cybersecurity— Two weeks ago, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the creation of a new cyber defense authority to defend Israel’s civilian networks. This is the latest in a series of steps taken by Israel’s government to bridge the public-private cyber divide and bolster the country’s position as a global leader in cybersecurity. Washington, in contrast, suffers from a severe lack of new ideas on cybersecurity. U.S. policymakers struggle to understand the technical aspects of key issues and avoid meaningful engagement with the private sector, academics, and NGO community. The U.S. government often prioritizes security over innovation, privacy, and access, and unfortunately ignores the long-term risks of its own approach. This week marks the start of the 11th annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month, which is a perfect occasion for the U.S. government to learn from Israel’s example and embrace much-needed new thinking on cybersecurity.

Mark A. Kellner: Religious rights unclear after Supreme Court punts on same-sex marriage cases— One aspect of Monday’s Supreme Court refusal to hear an appeal of same-sex marriage laws is clear: for now, same-sex couples must be allowed to marry in 11 more states. Less clear, however, is what the decision will mean for religious nonprofits and businesses whose owners claim to follow religious principles in opposing same-sex marriage. Churches, synagogues, mosques and other congregations remain free to solemnize those marriages they wish to endorse, and can set their own standards for clergy and employees. But whether and how religious-affiliated schools, charities, fraternal organizations or individual believers in businesses must accommodate same-sex nuptials remains unknown, particularly in states without nondiscrimination laws that address sexual orientation. “These kinds of organizations could face a threat to their tax exempt status should they seek to uphold their religious teachings in relation to employee or student sexual choices and conduct,” said Nicholas Miller, an attorney and director of the International Religious Liberty Institute at Andrews University.

Jacques Neriah: Yemen Changes Hands: Will an Iranian Stronghold Emerge near the Entrance to the Red Sea?—Zaydi Shiites from the Houthi clan have taken control of the capital of Yemen. While the Zaydi Shiism practiced in Yemen differs from the Shiism practiced in Iran, in recent years Iran has sought to bring the Zaydis under its wings. Last year an Iranian weapons boat bound for Yemen was interdicted. A Houthi-controlled Yemen could evolve into a full-scale Iranian stronghold in the future and threaten freedom of movement through the Bab al Mandab Strait, the gateway to the Red Sea and a vital sea route between Europe and the Far East.

Ehud Yaari: Strengthen Moderate Rebels in Southern Syria—Rebels in southern Syria have gained control over most of the territory adjacent to the 1974 Israeli-Syrian truce line. The UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) has now practically ceased to function, as a result of rebel advances. UNDOF’s fundamental purpose on the Syrian side of the border – monitoring the Syrian army’s order of battle – has become largely moot because the Assad regime’s frontline 61st and 90th Brigades have completely collapsed. Israel’s new neighbors across the Golan border include Jabhat al-Nusra (JN) elements dedicated to al-Qaeda’s vehemently anti-Israel doctrine. For the time being, JN has avoided any attempt to engage in terrorist operations against Israel. Its southern units include very few foreign jihadists. Its cadres prefer loose, ad hoc cooperation with other rebel factions, including those with ties to Israel. So far, most Israeli support for moderate, local, non-Islamist rebel battalions along the border has been limited to humanitarian aid, such as treating 1,400 sick and wounded Syrians in Israeli hospitals. Within the next few months, however, a wider scope of military aid may prove necessary.

Einat Wilf: Don’t Let Iran Off the Hook on Nuclear Talks—Leaders of the P5+1 negotiating powers should not underestimate or underplay their hand. They are in an excellent negotiating position and should be able to secure an agreement that leaves Iran far from being able to pursue a military nuclear program. If – from the Iranian perspective – the path to regime preservation is more likely to be secured by dismantling their nuclear program than by continuing it, then the program will be dismantled. Getting the Iranian regime to reach this conclusion has been the challenge. Iran needs the West to ease sanctions and to fight the Islamic State. Western leaders are negotiating from a position of strength. They hold the key to what the Iranian regime requires for its preservation. The opportunity to reach a good deal should not go to waste.

Clifford D. May: The truth about diversity— In theory, we Americans are great proponents of diversity. In practice, how many of us stop to seriously consider the meaning of the word? If peoples really are diverse — if we differ not just about clothes and cuisine, but over ideas, values, interests, morality and human rights — that implies there is no “international community,” certainly not one that embraces “international norms.” For years, we’ve told ourselves the world is a “global village.” As it turns out, it may be more like the “several remote nations” to which Gulliver traveled. Multiculturalists of the left are most likely to misconstrue diversity. There also are those on the right, though, who believe all human hearts yearn for freedom. By now, I think, it’s become apparent: Freedom may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Josh Gerstein: Feds Warn of Jury Tampering in Detroit— Federal prosecutors are publicly accusing a Palestinian-American activist of an “almost certainly criminal” effort to derail the trial of a colleague accused of naturalization fraud for failing to disclose a terrorism conviction in Israel more than four decades ago. In a motion filed Friday in connection with the upcoming trial of Rasmea Odeh, prosecutors accuse activist Hatem Abudayyeh of the Chicago-based Arab American Action Network and other demonstrators of mounting protests aimed at swaying a yet-to-be named jury in Odeh’s case. The motion asks that the names of jurors not be made public or revealed to the defendant or her lawyers and that the jury be assembled off-site to avoid encountering the protesters. “Since the date of defendant’s arrest for naturalization fraud, Hatem Abudayyeh has orchestrated a concerted effort to influence the criminal proceedings against defendant, which has resulted, at each proceeding, in a large group outside the Courthouse protesting and parading, carrying signs demanding dismissal of charges and ‘Justice for Rasmea’ and displaying the Palestinian flag,” prosecutors wrote in the new motion (posted here). “Abudayyeh has publicly stated that a goal of filling the courtroom, rallying outside the courthouse, and chanting while holding posters is to influence the opinions of jurors….As is evident from Mr. Abudayyeh’s own statements, it is his goal, and that of his supporters, to tamper with the prospective and seated jurors in order to sway the jury in defendant’s favor.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Palestinians involved in this situation are trying to contaminate a Detroit, Michigan U.S.A. jury pool and to intimidate jurors once they are selected.  They think that the jurors will fear for their lives, and they are probably right.  This practice cannot be allowed to stand.  The co-conspirators should be arrested and tried themselves because it’s a form of terrorism.

SnyderTalk Comment: Maen Rashid Areikat, PLO ambassador to the U.S., is incorrect.  The U.S. approach over the last 20 years has produced results and most of them have been negative.  Stated another way, Israel is much worse off today than it was 20 years ago thanks to U.S. “help”.  Palestinians have been playing the U.S. like a fiddle.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 33: 1-3

1 Then Jacob lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, Esau was coming, and four hundred men with him. So he divided the children among Leah and Rachel and the two maids. 2 He put the maids and their children in front, and Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph last. 3 But he himself passed on ahead of them and bowed down to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
