Raymond Ibrahim—World Ignores Christian Exodus from Islamic World:

“They were trying to kill us… because we were Christians.” — Teenage girl from Homs, Syria.

There have been house-to-house searches in Mali for Christians who might be in hiding, and people tortured into revealing Christian relatives. At least one pastor was beheaded.

It is to the media’s shame that those who slaughter, behead, crucify and displace people for no other reason than that they are Christian rarely get media coverage, while Israel, which kills only in the context of trying to defend itself from rocket attacks and terrorism, and not out of religious bigotry, is constantly demonized.

Paying jizya [special poll tax for non-Muslims] is not only about money. It is about subjugation.

While the world fixates on the conflict between Israel and Hamas—and while most mainstream media demonize Israel for trying to survive amid a sea of Arab-Islamic hostility—similar or worse tragedies continue to go virtually ignored.

One of the most ancient Christian communities in the world, that of Iraq—which already had been decimated over the last decade, by Islamic forces unleashed after the ousting of Saddam Hussein—has now been wiped out entirely by the new “caliphate,” the so-called Islamic State, formerly known by the acronym “ISIS.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Islamists have been infiltrating America for a very long time, especially Latin America and U.S. prisons.  They virtually own certain U.S. cities in the Midwest, places like Dearborn, Michigan.  When they finally arrive at your front door step, remember that we had a chance to stop them but we failed to act decisively.  We listened, instead, to voices of “tolerance” and “reason” not understanding that those calling for adequate protective measures were the only voices of tolerance and reason in the land.

The bottom line: we did it to ourselves.  So did the people of Europe.  We and they deserve what we will get.

Yahweh gave this word of warning to the people of Judah through Jeremiah: “Now hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see; who have ears but do not hear.” (Jeremiah 5:21)  Yahweh is saying the same thing to us today.  Can you hear Him?

Dan Margalit: Time to draw the line— Israel has agreed to another 72-hour cease-fire. The truce took effect at midnight Sunday, and the Israeli delegation to the cease-fire talks arrived in Cairo on Monday. That is all well and good, except for the fact that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should let it be known, in no uncertain terms, that this is the last time Israel will abide by any such limited cease-fire. Should Hamas resume its rocket and mortar fire at Israel, the next cease-fire must be free of any deadline, until such time as the cease-fire talks end, be they with a good result or no result. There is one word missing from Israel’s current agreement to a cease-fire: “Enough!”

Michael Rubin: No Donor Conference for Gaza—Albert Einstein quipped that insanity was doing the same action repeatedly but expecting different results each time. Once again, as the smoke clears in Gaza, the European community is stepping in with calls for a donor conference. That’s simply crazy. The Palestinians have received more per capita than any other national community, but have the least to show for it. The problem is not Israel, but rather an unwillingness to foreswear terrorism and concentrate instead on internal development. If Hamas knows that the international community will always step in and rebuild houses, schools, or government buildings, then it makes it easier to dedicate what revenue the Palestinian government does have to terrorism and military adventurism. The international community’s knee-jerk reaction has always been to subsidize the Palestinians further. Clearly, that strategy has neither worked nor furthered peace. Perhaps it’s time to stop treating taxpayer dollars as an entitlement to Palestinians who have made bad choices. Only when Palestinians in Gaza realize that Hamas brings nothing but ruin can there be a possibility for something better.

Avi Issacharoff: Standoff at Gaza Cease-Fire Talks in Cairo—At the Gaza cease-fire talks in Cairo, Israel and Egypt are jointly determined not to give Hamas what it wants. There’s an Israeli readiness to ease border restrictions and to expand fishing rights off the Gaza coast, but nothing more than that. Cairo, too, is emphasizing to Hamas that it can forget about a seaport or an airport unless or until all of Gaza is demilitarized. For now, at least, Hamas wants to be seen as refusing to capitulate. Hence its decision to allow others to fire rockets at Israel. Hamas hopes there’ll be enough pressure on Jerusalem to give it some kind of gain that would allow it to come out from the corner it’s painted itself into.

Ron Ben-Yishai: Israel Will Not Get Dragged into a War of Attrition—A few days of patience may make it clear to Hamas that continued rocket fire into Israel will cause more damage to its position in the negotiations than improve it. Senior Israeli officials clarify that if the IDF detects the slightest possibility that Israel is being dragged into a war of attrition, it will not hesitate to enter Gaza to complete the disarming of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. In the current stage, the goal is to reach a stable cease-fire, and to meet the basic needs of 250,000 people with no roof over their heads and no clean drinking water. Yet Hamas is presenting exaggerated demands, betting that global public opinion will allow aid to be brought in, and then the Egyptians will give in as well. Hamas is gambling again, holding the civilian population hostage. Israel is seeking to demilitarize Gaza of weapons and military infrastructure under international supervision in return for a large aid package to rebuild the Strip. Demilitarization includes removing rockets and launching pads, destroying launchers, and removing 160- and 120-mm. mortar shells. At the same time, manufacturing will be supervised and the excavation of tunnels will be thwarted.

Bassem Eid: Hamas Needs the Palestinians’ Deaths in Order to Claim Victory—The majority of Palestinians has opposed firing rockets into Israel. These rockets will achieve nothing. Palestinians have called on Hamas to stop firing on Israel and to try to negotiate. But Hamas has never considered Palestinian needs. So they have continued to fire rockets at Israel, knowing full-well what the result would be: Hamas paved the road for the death of our people. Indeed, Hamas needs these deaths in order to claim victory. Death of its own people empowers Hamas, enabling it to accrue more money and more arms. The lesson is that we must rid ourselves of Hamas and completely demilitarize Gaza. Then we will open up the border crossings. I say this as a loyal Palestinian and because I care for my own people.

Shoshana Bryen: Palestinian Poverty is not a Plague or an Earthquake— As Hamas resumed rocketing Israel on Friday, one surety was that Israel’s office of “Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (West Bank and Gaza Strip)” [COGAT] would continue operating as it has through gruesome acts of terror against Jews, “intifadas,” rocket attacks and kidnappings through tunnels. COGAT is the facilitator of international aid to the Palestinians for UNRWA, the Red Cross and the World Food Program among others; it is also the liaison for the Palestinians to services provided by Israel, including the provision of electricity, water and sewage services, and all transit between Israel and the Gaza Strip.

Jeff Ballabon: The 20 Oddest Things People Actually Claim to Believe about the Hamas/Israel Conflict— 1. Israel started it: “Look Carefully at Who Started the Current Israel-Hamas Conflict”, “What drove Hamas to take on Israel?”; 2. War Crime — Israel should have provided Iron Dome to Hamas: “U.N. condemns Israel, U.S. for not sharing Iron Dome with Hamas”; 3. Israeli conspiracy: Hamas is innocent: “BuzzFeed Gets a Big Story Wrong”, “Did Israel Say Hamas Didn’t Kidnap Its Teens? No.”

Prof. Efraim Inbar: What is to be done about Gaza?— Hamas’ refusals to accept a permanent cease-fire indicate that Operation Protective Edge has so far failed to attain its modest goal of calm on Israel’s border with Gaza. Jerusalem is not expecting peace or integration with its neighbors — it wants just to be left alone. It is clear that Hamas does not feel weakened or threatened enough to accept a cease-fire. If most of its conditions are met, they might agree to a fragile cease-fire that could be violated at will, which will amount to a Hamas victory. Such an outcome would be disastrous for Israel, with negative political and strategic implications.

Gal Carmeli: Why My Brother Really Died— My brother, Sean Carmeli, was born and raised in South Padre Island, Texas. He grew up in a very warm and loving home, a safe environment where doors were never locked, and car keys were always left in the switch. He was surrounded by people old and young, American, Mexican and Israeli, English, Spanish and Hebrew, Jewish and Christian. Plain and simple, he had an absolutely normal life. Thankfully, we never felt any hatred, anti-Semitism, or any of that. Still, my parents decided to move to Israel when Sean was almost 16 years old. He continued high school in Ra’anana, and at age 18 was drafted to the army.

Isi Leibler: Don’t rely on Abbas— As of now, most Israelis, including long-standing opponents, endorse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership during Operation Protective Edge. From the outset he displayed determination, but avoided demagoguery or generating unrealistic expectations. He refused to be pressured into a full invasion of Gaza, which in addition to even greater casualties would probably have culminated in global sanctions, forcing us to withdraw and providing Hamas with “victory.” But the jury is still out, and should Hamas continue launching missiles, Israel will not engage in a war of attrition and may still be forced to launch a full invasion of Gaza.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 24: 50-59

50 Then Laban and Bethuel replied, “The matter comes from Yahweh; so we cannot speak to you bad or good. 51 Here is Rebekah before you, take her and go, and let her be the wife of your master’s son, as Yahweh has spoken.” 52 When Abraham’s servant heard their words, he bowed himself to the ground before Yahweh. 53 The servant brought out articles of silver and articles of gold, and garments, and gave them to Rebekah; he also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother. 54 Then he and the men who were with him ate and drank and spent the night. When they arose in the morning, he said, “Send me away to my master.” 55 But her brother and her mother said, “Let the girl stay with us a few days, say ten; afterward she may go.” 56 He said to them, “Do not delay me, since Yahweh has prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master.” 57 And they said, “We will call the girl and consult her wishes.” 58 Then they called Rebekah and said to her, “Will you go with this man?” And she said, “I will go.” 59 Thus they sent away their sister Rebekah and her nurse with Abraham’s servant and his men.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
