Peter Martino—”F**k the EU” Is Right: The World Would Be Better Off Without It:

No one in the world takes the unelected, unaccountable and non-transparent EU seriously, except its members — least of all the Iranians, who benefit so much from their greed and naïevté.

The biggest farce in international politics is the European Union. Last week, the EU’s international figurehead, Catherine Ashton, the “High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,” condemned new building projects in east Jerusalem. She argued that the projects would jeopardize the prospect of Jerusalem becoming the capital of two states – Israel and Palestine.

Ashton’s argument should be discredited. Not only did she fail to protest in similar fashion Palestinian incitement to violence, but while adopting the Palestinian position that Jerusalem should be the capital of Palestine, she has so far refused to acknowledge that the city already is Israel’s capital.

13--Perspectives 2

Raymond Ibrahim: U.S. ‘Chose to Stay Silent’ on Muslim Persecution of Christians— The endemic rise of Christian persecution in the Middle East was noted in November when Pope Francis declared “We will not resign ourselves to imagining a Middle East without Christians” and stressed the importance of “the universal right to lead a dignified life and freely practice one’s own faith” after he met with patriarchs from Syria, Iran, and Iraq, all countries where Christian minorities are under attack. On the other hand, powers best placed to do something about the plight of Mideast Christians—namely, the U.S. Obama administration—made it clear that they would do nothing, even when well leveraged to do so.

Tom Wilson: Palestinians Confirm: It’s a “No”— Few seemed to be listening earlier this week when the Palestinian Authority released a list of red lines that in practice meant an outright rejection of Secretary of State John Kerry’s peace framework. Prior to this, noises were coming from PA officials suggesting that they are not happy with Kerry’s efforts or enthusiastic about his proposals. But, in contrast to when figures in the Israeli government express skepticism about the negotiations, remarkably few seemed to be willing to hear any of this from the Palestinians. The Washington Post and The Times of Israel both recounted that Abbas had indeed released new red lines. But there was little sense given that these red lines were effectively driving a stake through the heart of any viable framework agreement. The State Department released no official statement, and even the Israelis apparently decided they weren’t dignifying Abbas’s outlandish demands with a public response.

Dr. Reuven Berko: A disproportionate call for proportionality— Of all the things European Parliament President Martin Schulz said during his Knesset speech last week, one stood out — the “fact” that the average Israeli consumes 70 liters of water a day, while his Palestinian counterpart is limited to 17 liters. This sensational tidbit, which grated his sense of justice, did not come from an academic study or a respectable journal. He heard it from an anonymous Palestinian youth in Ramallah.

Joshua Levitt: Expert: Iran Deal Sets Precedent for Centrifuge Enrichment in Other Countries— As a final agreement is negotiated over Iran’s nuclear program, a nonproliferation expert said the deal on the table could set a dangerous precedent that could allow unlimited centrifuge development in other countries. Greg Jones, Senior Researcher at the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center, on Thursday told journalists on a conference call organized by The Israel Project that the precedent that will be set means that there’d be “no basis to denying centrifuge enrichment to any other non-proliferation treaty (NPT) member country.”

Dexter Van Zile: Presbyterianism Unsettled— The bureaucrats in Louisville who run the day-to-day operations of the Presbyterian Church (USA) are looking more and more dishonest and stupid with each passing day. For non-Presbyterians, they are a cause for disdain. For the dwindling number of people who actually belong to this church, they are becoming a source of embarrassment. They are supposed to be religious leaders who tell the truth, but in fact, they behave like politicians offering unbelievable denials and evasions. Oddly enough, it’s the “peacemakers” within the denomination who have gotten them into trouble. (That happens a lot, doesn’t it?)

Ronald S. Lauder: Hungary’s Holocaust Controversy— This week, the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (Mazsihisz) declared it would stay away from official commemorations marking the 70th‎‎ anniversary of the deportation of 437,000 Jews to the Nazi death camps. As president of the World Jewish Congress, I sent a letter to the Mazsihisz fully supporting its decision, which was read aloud at its official parley in Budapest on Sunday. Mazsihisz explained that it could not countenance the government’s obfuscation of the role of the wartime Hungarian fascist regime in the genocide, and it made clear that it could not participate in Hungary’s year-long commemoration until the government’s position changes.

Jack Kerwick: The Democratic Party and Karl Marx— New York Senator Chuck Schumer thinks that it is a good thing, an affirmation of “family values” and “freedom,” that nearly 3 million people are expected to stop working in order to be able to qualify for Obamacare subsidies. While on “Meet the Press” this past weekend, Schumer was blunt: The “bottom line,” he said, “is very simple.  What [the] CBO [Congressional Budget Office] said is that many American workers would have freedom.  Now that’s a good word,” Schumer continued, for it means that Americans would now have the “freedom to do things that they couldn’t [previously] do.”

Clarice Feldman: There Oughta Be a Law(yer)— Nothing better depicted Obama’s illegal tampering with the clear words of ObamaCare — his announcement this week that he was delaying the employer mandate for medium-sized companies — than Michael Ramirez’ brilliant cartoon showing the law as a blank page in which Obama had continually changed its words and meaning.

Yoram Schweitzer: Problems in the global jihad family— Over the past two and a half years, the bloodletting between Syrian President Bashar Assad and opposition forces in his country has become a familiar routine. However, the violent clashes we have seen these past few months within the opposition, among the Islamist elements, are rather new. Al-Qaida’s statement that it has nothing to do with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (abbreviated as ISIS) organization, and that it is not responsible for the group’s actions in Syria, points to problems within the global jihad family.

Investor’s Business Daily Editorial: Holder’s Felon Re-Enfranchisement A Ruse To Unlock 2 Mil Dem Votes— Radical Politics: The Obama administration isn’t satisfied with locking in votes for Democrats by giving amnesty to illegal immigrants. Now it’s also trying to unlock ex-con’s votes through felon re-enfranchisement. In a Georgetown University speech, Attorney General Eric Holder last week called state laws barring convicted felons from voting racist measures that “strip African-Americans of their most fundamental rights.”

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Zechariah 5: 5-11

Then the angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, “Lift up now your eyes and see what this is going forth.” I said, “What is it?” And he said, “This is the ephah going forth.” Again he said, “This is their appearance in all the land (and behold, a lead cover was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting inside the ephah.” Then he said, “This is Wickedness!” And he threw her down into the middle of the ephah and cast the lead weight on its opening. Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and there two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens. I said to the angel who was speaking with me, “Where are they taking the ephah?” Then he said to me, “To build a temple for her in the land of Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there on her own pedestal.”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
