Steve Apfel—Civilized Holocaust denial:

[…]

Civilized deniers are diabolically sly.

But wait for their full subtlety. The Ward-Wilkie type plies a dangerous trade—the more because it snares customers without their knowing it. Having dwarfed the Holocaust to an apartheid-level crime, Ward & Wilkie conflate Israel and blameless Palestinians with Nazis and blameless Jews. We’re led to think that after what the Nazis put the Jews through, the Jews turned on Palestinian victims and put them through the same hell.

How sly is that.

But civilized denial goes deeper. There’s no limit to the mindset and method of tweed-attired deniers. Before coming to that, ‘atrocities’ and ‘gross abuses’ must be put to bed.

Prof. Abraham Ben-Zvi: Obama makes a U-turn on consensus— The Obama of model year 2014 is about consolidating support among his — somewhat disappointed — base of hard-core loyalists: those from the lower rungs of the socioeconomic ladder (as well as staunch liberals, who endorse this divisive approach). Obama initially wanted his presidency to focus as little as possible on his unique upbringing and personal biography; he favored a broad agenda that would cure American society of its ills. But over time he has become a more sober, disillusioned politician. Instead of a tide that lifts all boats, he has resorted to a narrow policy of small fixes that would help his own constituents. Obama is resigned to a more modest legacy that will not be of historic significance, having failed to get Congress (or specifically, the contrarian, Republican-led House of Representatives) on board to support his slew of legislative proposals. The most recent example was his pathetic efforts to win Congressional backing for an attack on Syria last year.

Joseph Klein: The Iranian Threat & Obama’s Deception— President Obama misled the American people in his January 28th State of the Union address regarding what Iran is required to do under the six-month interim nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the P5+1 nations – the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, and China) plus Germany. Obama made the following patently false claim about the implementation of the interim agreement: ”As we gather here tonight, Iran has begun to eliminate its stockpile of higher levels of enriched uranium.” Iran has not eliminated anything. It has merely begun to temporarily convert part of its enriched uranium stockpile from a 20 percent enrichment level to a 5 percent enrichment level or below, and to covert the remainder of its 20 percent enriched uranium to oxide. These actions can be reversed by Iran at any time.

Israel Hayom: US intelligence: Iran can build bomb at will— Iran’s ability to create missiles with nuclear warheads is currently more dependent on the “political will” of the country’s leadership than on closing technological gaps, according to the annual American intelligence community’s report presented to Congress on Wednesday. “Tehran has made technical progress in a number of areas — including uranium enrichment, nuclear reactors, and ballistic missiles — from which it could draw if it decided to build missile-deliverable nuclear weapons,” National Intelligence Director James Clapper wrote in testimony submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Prof. Ron Breiman: Kerry, this isn’t the road to peace— U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is about to present his plan, the purpose of which is to force Israel to hand the country’s heartland over to the enemy, to divide Jerusalem including the Old City, to ethnically cleanse hundreds of thousands of Jews and to undermine “little” Israel’s security, in exchange for a few utterances which the enemy still refuses to make, and a few dubious European payouts, which could be withheld at any point. And that’s what they call peace?

Khaled Abu Toameh: Hamas, Islamic Jihad Gunmen Now in West Bank— If anything, the rally that saw Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Fatah join forces in a rare show of power means that Abbas’ claim that he is fully in control of the situation in West Bank is baseless.

Kate Linthicum: Many visions, little accord on Israeli-Palestinian peace talks— TEL AVIV — Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu laid out clashing visions of a two-state solution here Tuesday during an Israeli security conference. In a taped interview broadcast at the conference, Abbas insisted that Israeli troops pull out of Palestinian territories in the West Bank within three years after a peace agreement is reached. He suggested a third party, such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, oversee an Israeli withdrawal and maintain a long-term security presence in the area. Speaking at the conference Tuesday night, Netanyahu rejected the idea of a complete Israeli withdrawal, insisting, as he has in the past, that some Israeli soldiers stay in the West Bank along the Jordanian border. That task is one of several security matters that must remain “in the hands of Israel,” he said.

David Ignatius: With Iran, Israel, Kerry is master of the interim deal—For Secretary of State John F. Kerry, diplomacy has centered on what might be called the art of the interim deal. He has tackled two of the world’s toughest issues — the Iranian nuclear program and the Israeli-Palestinian problem — and has fashioned tentative formulas outlining the shape of a final accord, even though the parties are far from such comprehensive settlements. Kerry’s tool has been the “framework agreement.” He seeks to bring the parties together on an initial document that frames the issues and sweetens the bargaining with confidence-building measures. When Kerry hits impasses, he can turn to rollover agreements that extend the discussions for another six or nine months while the participants try to crack the final-status issues.

Brig.-Gen. (ret.) Dr. Shimon Shapira: Is Hizbullah about to Withdraw from Syria?—Hizbullah has now lost almost 350 men in Syria, while the number of wounded has passed a thousand. This puts into question Hizbullah’s ability to keep sacrificing its fighters in Syria when its target of jihad is Israel. Moreover, the devastating Salafi terror attacks in Beirut have included an attack on the symbolically charged Iranian embassy.

Gidon Ben-zvi: Europe Warns Palestinian Authority Against Rejecting Kerry Framework Peace Plan—Europe will not automatically continue to support the Palestinian Authority if the current U.S.-backed framework agreement talks with Israel fail, Israel’s Walla website reported on Wednesday. European diplomats passed this message on to senior Palestinian Authority officials during closed-door conversations that were recently held in Ramallah, Walla said.

Ali Al Sharnoby: The new “Sisiphobia” for the U.S. administration or Why Obama is so afraid of Gen. Sisi— CAIRO, EGYPT—Egypt’s interim President Adly Mansour made it official—which should come as nothing unexpected—presidential elections before parliamentary elections, with the presidential election within three months. As a result of this decision, Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, charismatic Egyptian Defense Minister, moves one giant step closer to the presidency. Everyone knows that he’s the strongest candidate and the only one who has the support of nearly all political parties to lead Egypt in its war against terrorism led by the Muslim Brotherhood and their militias. […] Senior Egyptian sources say that the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, made several contacts with senior Egyptian armed forces members, about the pressing need to convince Sisi not to run in the presidential elections. Hagel said that Washington is not ‘comfortable’ with Sisi’s presidential candidacy and that the military must forthwith disengage from the ongoing political struggle in Egypt. Looks like to the Obama administration Republican enemies extend all the way to the Land of the Pharaohs.

Study finds that obesity takes hold early in life

SnyderTalk Comment:  The die wasn’t cast at an early age.  That’s ridiculous.  This study proves that if bad habits continue, the result is the same as you age.  No change in behavior, no change in result.  The longer you wait to change bad habits, the more difficult change becomes because the bad habits become part of your routine.  People have a hard time changing their routines.  This isn’t rocket science and obesity isn’t genetic.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Haggai 1: 12-15

Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of Yahweh their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yahweh their God had sent him. And the people showed reverence for Yahweh. Then Haggai, the messenger of Yahweh, spoke by the commission of Yahweh to the people saying, “I am with you,” declares Yahweh. So Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of Yahweh Sabaoth, their God, on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month in the second year of Darius the king.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.

Other Books by Neil Snyder

  • Stand! is a suspense novel that exposes the lies, corruption, and greed underlying the theory that man-made CO2 emissions are responsible for global warming.  Professor Wes Carlyle and Karen Sterling, his research collaborator, carefully scan the audience for their would-be attacker—a member of the enviro-gestapo who has been following them for days.  Wes spots his man in the back of the room leaning against the wall.  Suddenly, another man in the audience steps forward and moves toward Karen at a menacing pace.  With a vicious stroke, he swings a billy club at her head.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
  • What Will You Do with the Rest of Your Life? deals with a question that every Christian has to consider: what should I do with my life?  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
  • Falsely Accused is a true story about a young woman who was accused of committing a double homicide.  It’s about a travesty of justice, and it reveals Yahweh intervening in the life of a believer to rescue her from danger in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.  Everyone will enjoy the book, but young people in particular need to read it because the mistakes made that led to the problem could have been avoided.  They were the kinds of mistakes that young people are prone to make.  As they say, forewarned is forearmed.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
