Ryan Mauro—Senior Homeland Security Advisor: America is an “Islamic Country”:

A senior advisor to the Department of Homeland Security, Mohamed Elibiary, says that America is “an Islamic country” and continues to argue that the Muslim Brotherhood is comparable to Christian evangelicals.

Elibiary is a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council and was promoted in September. He also served on the Department of Homeland Security’s Countering Violent Extremism Working Group and the Faith-based Security and Communications Advisory Committee.

He is also a long-time Texas Republican Party official and was a delegate for Senator John McCain in 2008.

13--Perspectives 2

#####

Caroline Glick: Time to Reassess Israel’s Strategic Assumptions— Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu apparently believes the greatest threat the country now faces is an escalated European trade war. He’s wrong. The greatest threat we are now facing is a national leadership that cannot get its arms around changing strategic realities. Over the weekend, Yediot Aharonot reported that during Secretary of State John Kerry’s seven-hour meeting in Rome last week with Netanyahu, Kerry warned that the price for walking away from the talks with the PLO will be European economic strangulation of Israel.

John Perazzo: Obamacare: The Unimaginable Suffering That Awaits Us— There is a vital reason for all Americans to take a close look at how, specifically, the various government-run, single-payer healthcare systems around the world have already affected the lives of the people living under them. This is vital because Barack Obama and the Democrats actually have their sights set on creating precisely such a system here in the United States. For them, Obamacare is, and always has been, nothing more than a stepping stone toward their ultimate goal of a single-payer leviathan administered entirely by the federal government. Indeed, they’ve been quite clear about their intentions…

Matthew Vadum: Lying to Save Their Skins— Beset by criticism from all sides for its bungled healthcare exchange rollout, the Obama administration expects to weather the growing storm by lying, rationalizing, and running out the clock. Mendacity, stalling, and stonewalling have worked well as part of a public relations strategy for the Obama administration over its first five years, so there is no point in changing a winning formula now. Besides, extravagant healthcare subsidies begin to kick in next year, and all that free money floating around is bound to calm irate consumers.

Shoula Romano Horing: U.S. Jews must say No to Obama— As the Iranians continuing installing hundreds of advanced new centrifuges every month, the Obama administration has been pressuring U.S. Jewish organizations to stop lobbying in support of legislation to tighten the economic sanctions against Iran, turn their back on Israeli concerns, and side with President Obama’s wishful thinking of a possible diplomatic solution with Iran. It is quite disturbing for the president to ask any U.S. organization to turn against a democratic ally for the sake of appeasing and accommodating a dictatorship and longtime enemy. But it is morally disgraceful to pressure Jews to turn their backs on the Jewish state when Israel will be on the front line of possible nuclear annihilation by an enemy which has publicly stated its sinister intentions.

Jamie Dettmer: Egypt’s Newest Jihadists: The Jamal Network—A growing jihadist insurgency is spreading from the Sinai Peninsula. It includes al-Qaeda-linked jihadist groups such as al-Furqan Brigades, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis and the Jamal Network. Several hundred fighters from Yemen, Somalia, Algeria and Libya are estimated by U.S. intelligence sources to have joined jihadigroups in the Sinai. Of all the groups active in Egypt, the network set up by Mohamed Jamal al-Kashef, who was captured by Egyptian security forces a year ago, is of the greatest interest to America. Members of the network have been linked to the assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi a year ago that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead. Al-Khasef told his Egyptian interrogators: “We consider Sinai the next frontier of conflict with the Zionists and the Americans.”

Michael Rubin: Ryan Crocker, Diplomacy, and the Iranian Elephant—Former U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker argued in the New York Times on Monday that talking with Iran works, based on his experience in Afghanistan. Yet it is important to consider what Crocker leaves out. While Crocker was holding talks with the Iranians in Kabul, President Bush received intelligence that Iran was creating a secret enrichment facility at Natanz. At the same time, Iran was busy seeking to smuggle in 50 tons of weaponry into Gaza. In effect, Crocker is like the blind man describing the elephant, willing to amplify the description of one aspect of Iranian behavior into wide-ranging conclusions, seemingly unaware that honest description of other parts of the beast suggested the opposite.

Boaz Bismuth: The nature of an unnatural partnership— Some 360 kilometers (224 miles) southeast of Tehran sits the ancient city of Hamedan. I visited it twice after the revolution. The Jews of Iran identify it with the city of Shushan from the book of Esther, and believe Mordechai the Jew and Queen Esther are buried there. Upon entering the city, visitors are greeted with giant murals featuring an Iranian boy and girl: They are helping a blind man cross the road; they are brushing their teeth; they are reading the Quran; they are burning the Israeli flag. In the Islamic republic, this sequence of images is only natural. The only thing missing was a boy and girl burning the American flag, so that we get a better sense of the perfect Iranian child in the era of the revolution.

Daniel Greenfield: The American Iron Curtain— In March 1946, Winston Churchill told a Missouri audience, “From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent. Behind that line lie all the capitals of the ancient states of Central and Eastern Europe. Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest and Sofia.” Today a new iron curtain is descending. It encloses the small Missouri town where Churchill gave his speech and all the great capitals of a great nation. Behind the iron curtain lie New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and countless others.

Ruthie Blum: Time to get ready for a third intifada— On Monday night, Channel 10 Arab affairs commentator Zvi Yehezkeli reported that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas made a rare reference to the U.S.-brokered peace talks under way between the PA and Israel. Until now, Abbas has been tight-lipped about the hush-hush two-state solution discussions in which his negotiating team is ostensibly invested. And though he has made an effort to come off as more moderate than his terrorist predecessor, Yasser Arafat, he occasionally lets his true ill intentions slip. On Monday, as always, he did this in Arabic. After all, he could not risk being too upfront with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry scheduled to arrive in Israel on Tuesday.

Jeffrey White: The Syrian Regime’s Willing Executioners—While the Syrian government has destroyed the equipment it used to produce its chemical arsenal, the regime still has the means and will to continue killing on a grand scale. A dominant feature of the war has been the steady escalation of regime firepower. From beatings, mass arrests, and small arms, Assad’s forces quickly progressed to using tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, antiaircraft guns, heavy mortars, field artillery, artillery rockets, combat helicopters with barrel bombs, fixed-wing combat aircraft with incendiary and fragmentation weapons, and surface-to-surface missiles. Much of Syria has effectively become a free-fire zone for regime forces.

4--Scripture of the Day USE THIS ONE

The scripture below is from the New American Standard Bible, and the hyperlinks associated with each word are from Strong’s Concordance for the New American Standard Bible.

Obadiah 1: 10-14

“Because of violence to your brother Jacob, you will be covered [with] shame, and you will be cut off forever. On the day that you stood aloof, on the day that strangers carried off his wealth, and foreigners entered his gate and cast lots for Jerusalem– you too were as one of them. Do not gloat over your brother’s day, the day of his misfortune. And do not rejoice over the sons of Judah In the day of their destruction; yes, do not boast In the day of [their] distress. Do not enter the gate of My people in the day of their disaster. Yes, you, do not gloat over their calamity in the day of their disaster. And do not loot their wealth in the day of their disaster. Do not stand at the fork of the road To cut down their fugitives; And do not imprison their survivors In the day of their distress.”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
