Ray Hanania—The Idiocy of the Cultural Boycott of Israel:

Arab extremists love to hate Israel. It doesn’t matter whether relations with Israel are good, bad or ugly. They hate Israel, no matter what. Their goal is to turn back the clock and travel back into time so they can do what their predecessors failed to do in 1947, prevent the division and destruction of Palestine by the United Nations mandate and block the creation of Israel. Their strategy to achieve this goal is as stupid as is their leadership, which is driven not by reasoned, commonsense strategies for success, but by formulas of failure based on unrestrained emotion and hatred.

This hatred of Israel and Jews is not embraced by all Arabs. In fact, most Arabs don’t hate Israel or Jews. They are just mad at Israel and Jews. They are mad because they recognize the righteousness of the Palestinian cause.

But the extremists, who are a minority faction in our Arab community, step in and bully the mainstream Arabs into silence. Arabs are afraid to stand up to the extremists who often direct their hate and anger against Arabs even more than they do against Israel. So the mainstream Arabs remain silent. It’s better to not say anything, the moderates mistakenly conclude, than to stand up to the fanatics.

13--Perspectives 2

#####

Caroline Glick: A miracle and an outrage in Washington— If you happen to be in Washington, DC, between now and January, you can see a piece of Jewish history that was never supposed to see the light of day. The National Archives is now exhibiting restored holy books and communal documents that belonged to the Jewish community of Iraq. In 1940, the Iraqi Jewish community numbered 137,000 people. Jews made up more than a quarter of the population of Baghdad. A 2,500-year-old community, Iraq had for centuries been a major center of Jewish learning. The Babylonian Talmud was written there.

Max Boot: Saudis, Turks Send Obama a Message— President Obama has been trying to reorient American policy in the Middle East. He is pulling back and either striking or looking to strike deals with longstanding American enemies such as Syria and Iran. He is also looking ever more hesitant and uncertain, a problem exemplified by his indecision over whether or not to bomb Syria. Such actions may not have much impact on domestic public opinion, which is focused on the economy and the budget crisis, but it has a large impact on our allies, who are increasingly concerned about the drift of American policy.

Ben Cohen: ‘Zionist BDS’ is a Lie— I recently received an email from a friend of mine who lives in Brighton, a town on England’s south coast. He told me about the success of a local organization, Sussex Friends of Israel, in countering the angry demonstrations organized by pro-Palestinian activists outside the store owned by Sodastream, an Israeli soft drinks company that is based in the West Bank. Sodastream employs about 700 Palestinian workers and also maintains an onsite mosque. But none of that concerns these Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) propagandists, who would be quite happy for hundreds of Palestinian families to be left without an income for the greater “good” of destroying the Jewish state.

Daniel Pipes: Muslim Russia?— The stabbing murder on Oct. 10 of an ethnic Russian, Yegor Shcherbakov, 25, apparently by a Muslim from Azerbaijan, led to anti-migrant disturbances in Moscow, vandalism, assaults and 1,200 arrests, and brought a major source of tension in Russian life to the fore. Not only do Muslims account for 21 to 23 million of Russia’s total population of 144 million, or 15 percent, but their proportion is rapidly growing. Alcoholism-plagued ethnic Russians are said to have European birth rates and African death rates, with the former just 1.4 per woman and the latter 60 years for men.

Shlomi Eldar: Hamas’ Oxygen Line Runs through Israel—Ever since the Egyptian government started systematically demolishing the smuggling tunnels into Gaza, Israel has become the primary provider of food and raw materials to the Strip. Without that channel, the Hamas government could not last a single day. The border crossings between Gaza and Israel are working at a rate not seen since the 2007 Hamas coup in Gaza. Between 500 and 1,000 trucks enter Gaza through the Kerem Shalom border crossing every day with goods, raw materials and food.

Ali Ibrahim: The Post-Islamist Era—Doctoral theses and treatises about the failure of political Islam and its inability to rule or solve the traditional problems of developing societies have now begun to emerge. These studies are based on what happened in Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya, as well as the Islamist experience of rule in both Sudan and Iran. People have discovered that they were deceived by the Islamists and that Islamist rule has nothing to offer them, while they are also fed up with the violence and societal division that accompanies political Islam.

James Zumwalt: Rouhani Is Khamenei’s “Closer” to Complete Iran’s Nuclear Program—Tehran continues to drag negotiations out until it eventually possesses the nuclear arms capability the P5+1 seeks to prevent it from achieving. It is foolish to think after more than a decade of forward progress with its nuclear program – at great economic expense – Tehran would, so close to reaching its final goal, bring its nuclear arms program voluntarily to a halt. Rouhani is simply Khamenei’s “closer” whose mandate is to finish the job – not to halt the nuclear program but to bring it on home to a successful weaponized conclusion.

Brig.-Gen. (ret.) Dr. Shimon Shapira: Iran’s Defense Minister Behind the 1983 Attack on the U.S. Marine Barracks in Beirut—Instructions for the attack on the multinational forces were issued from Tehran to the Iranian ambassador to Damascus, who passed them on to the Revolutionary Guards forces in Lebanon and their Lebanese Shiite allies in Hizbullah. The attacks were carried out by a special operational arm that acted under the joint direction of Tehran and Hizbullah, headed by Imad Mughniyeh.

Yossi Klein Halevi: Israelis Compelled by Reality to Be Hawks—As ideological schisms deepen in America, Israeli society has gone a long way toward managing its own internal schisms.

Jacob Kamaras: Pop Culture, The White House, and American Jews (REVIEW)— …current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reading habits fall in line with the scholarly group of early Israeli leaders depicted by Avner. But in “What Jefferson Read, Ike Watched, and Obama Tweeted: 200 Years of Popular Culture in the White House,” Troy chronicles the opposite trend developing in the U.S.

4--Scripture of the Day USE THIS ONE

The scripture below is from the New American Standard Bible, and the hyperlinks associated with each word are from Strong’s Concordance for the New American Standard Bible.

Amos 7: 1-4

Thus Adonai Yahweh showed me, and behold, He was forming a locust-swarm when the spring crop began to sprout. And behold, the spring crop [was] after the king’s mowing. And it came about, when it had finished eating the vegetation of the land, that I said, “Adonai Yahweh, please pardon! How can Jacob stand, for he is small?” Yahweh changed His mind about this. “It shall not be,” said Yahweh. Thus Adonai Yahweh showed me, and behold, Adonai Yahweh was calling to contend [with them] by fire, and it consumed the great deep and began to consume the farm land.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
