Caroline Glick—Israel and the new Munich:

In his press conference after the current round of talks ended, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif insisted that Iran has the right to continue enriching uranium. The Iranian offer appears to involve suspending its 20 percent uranium enrichment activities and sufficing with enriching uranium to 3.5%.

As everyone from US Sen. Mark Kirk to the Washington Post editorial board to US President Barack Obama’s former chief pointman on Iran’s nuclear program Gary Samore have stated over the past several days, given Iran’s current enrichment capabilities, Iran’s offer is meaningless.

Over the past year, Iran has installed a thousand sophisticated centrifuges at its nuclear installation at Natanz. These new centrifuges allow Iran to transform 3.5% enriched uranium to bomb-grade material (enriched to 90%) as quickly as its old centrifuges were capable of transforming 20% enriched uranium to weapons-grade levels. So today, 3.5% enrichment is as comfortable a jumping-off point for the Iranian weapons program as 20% enrichment was a few years ago. Iran’s “serious proposal” is a joke.

Jonathan Rosenblum: But Can the Death Spiral be Reversed?— The release recently Pew Research Council report on American Jewry, merely confirmed what anyone paying attention already knew: In the natural order of things, non-Orthodox American Jewry is in an irreversible death spiral. Among non-Orthodox Jews, the intermarriage rate is now 71%.

Mark Silverberg: The Turkish Betrayal: Global Implications—On October 17th, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius reported that in 2012, Turkey, a NATO member, directly gave Iranian intelligence the identities of 10 Iranians who had been meeting in Turkey with their Israeli Mossad handlers. Subsequent reports suggest that they may have already been executed by the Iranians. But, as Boaz Bismuth writes in Israel Hayom: “There is more than one riddle here. The first is, of course, what the exact details of the story are and how great the damage is. Another riddle, no less intriguing, is who benefited from exposing the story at this time and why?”

Damien McElroy and Ahmad Vahdat: Will Iran Silence its “Death to America” Chants?—Chants of “Death to America” have been part of Iranian public life since the country’s Islamic revolution in 1979. But a national debate on the appropriateness of the chant erupted last month. Since Iran wants the West to lift economic sanctions in return for nuclear concessions over its nuclear program, there is a drive by President Rouhani to end its public use. “We can stand against powers with prudence rather than with slogans,” Rouhani said, winning the backing of the most senior cleric in Isfahan who called for a ban on the chant. “‘Death to America’ is not a verse in the holy book of the Koran and there is no logic in chanting it forever,” Sheikh Mohammad Taghi Rahbar told the Ghanoon daily.

Jerusalem Post Editorial: Desperate Hamas—Hamas is under pressure. The terrorist organization’s relations with Egypt were not particularly good even under president Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood. Now the situation has gone from bad to worse after Egypt’s military junta forcibly took power away from the Brotherhood. The Egyptian military has launched a major offensive along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt as part of a larger campaign to rein in the lawless Sinai Peninsula. Egyptian forces have stepped up the bulldozing of tunnels – the lifelines connecting Gaza’s economy to the outside world – which are thought to be escape routes used by Islamists and Beduin after staging attacks on Egyptian soldiers and police.

Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs: Why Israel Opposes International Forces in the Jordan Valley— The bottom line: international forces are ineffective and unreliable.

Moshe Lion: Jerusalem cannot handle another five years of left-wing policy—In J’lem, perhaps more than any other city in Israel, political outlook and worldview has a very great bearing on a mayor’s activities and decisions.

Michael Singh: What a Nuclear Deal with Iran Could Look Like—The efficacy and durability of a deal over limited enrichment would rest on Iranian transparency. To be meaningful, transparency measures would have to include allowing inspectors unfettered access to sites of their choosing, not just those declared by Iranian officials, and a comprehensive accounting of Iran’s past and present nuclear work, including the military elements of its nuclear program, such as weaponization research. Iranian officials continue to dismiss as “unfounded allegations” evidence deemed “credible” by the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran has engaged in nuclear work related to weapons. Iran continues to deny inspectors access to suspected nuclear sites and key personnel.

Khaled Abu Toameh: PLO: Battle for Succession Has Begun—U.S.-sponsored peace negotiations have served as a catalyst for increased calls by senior PLO and Fatah officials to start planning for the day after Mahmoud Abbas’ departure from the scene. Like his predecessor Yasser Arafat, Abbas, 78, has been running the PA in an autocratic fashion since his election as president in January 2005. Many senior members of the PLO and Fatah receive from Abbas tens of thousands of dollars every month for office rentals and vehicles, as well as salaries for their secretaries and henchmen. Still, the funds have not been able to buy Abbas 100% quiet. Abbas has been facing increased calls to appoint a deputy president as a way of limiting his powers. Palestinian sources said figures who consider themselves appropriate candidates to serve as deputy president include: Jibril Rajoub, a former security commander, Mohammed Shtayyeh, a former minister and member of the Palestinian negotiating team with Israel, Saeb Erekat, the chief PLO negotiator, and Nabil Sha’ath, a former PA foreign minister.

Eli Lake: Inside Israel’s Frenemy Diplomacy With Turkey— Last week, the Washington Post’s David Ignatius revealed that in early 2012, Turkey gave sensitive information about Israel’s spy operations to Iran—specifically, the names of up to ten Iranians who had been meeting with Israeli intelligence officers in Turkey. To many people in the intelligence community, the news was seen as a grave betrayal. “The fact those ten spies were burned by the Turks by purposely informing the Iranians is not only a despicable act, it is an act that brings the Turkish intelligence organization to a position where I assume no one will ever trust it again,” said Danny Yatom, a former chief of Israel’s intelligence service, the Mossad, in an interview.

Dr. Richard L. Cravatts: Moral Incoherence in Academic Boycotts against Israel—A respected American academic organization actually examined the feasibility of a boycott of Israeli scholars, another instance of the obsessive demonization of that country, application of double moral standards – and traces of anti-Semitism?

4--Scripture of the Day USE THIS ONE

The scripture below is from the New American Standard Bible, and the hyperlinks associated with each word are from Strong’s Concordance for the New American Standard Bible.

Amos 6: 9-11

And it will be, if ten men are left in one house, they will die. Then one’s uncle, or his undertaker, will lift him up to carry out [his] bones from the house, and he will say to the one who is in the innermost part of the house, “Is anyone else with you?” And that one will say, “No one.” Then he will answer, “Keep quiet. For the name of Yahweh is not to be mentioned.” For behold, Yahweh is going to command that the great house be smashed to pieces and the small house to fragments.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
