David Harris—Why is the World Silent as Christians Are Persecuted?:

On September 22, dozens of Christian worshipers were killed at a church in Pakistan. Many more were wounded. The assailants were jihadist suicide bombers. This was not the first attack on the small Christian community in Pakistan.

In Egypt, repeated deadly assaults have targeted Coptic Christian churches. Some members of this ancient faith group, convinced they have no future in the Arab world’s most populous nation, have emigrated.

In Iraq, the Chaldean Christian population has dwindled in recent years. Persecution at the hands of Islamist groups has been a key factor driving people out.

In Nigeria, periodic attacks by radical Muslim groups on Christian worshipers and their churches have brought widespread death and destruction.

In Turkey, the Greek Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarchate has had to face one bureaucratic roadblock after another.

In Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus, many Greek Orthodox churches have been destroyed or otherwise desecrated since the Turkish army first invaded in 1974.

Judi McLeod: President Barack Obama owes world explanation about why he supports al-Qaeda— If ever there was a terrorist attack that cries out the name “President Barack Hussein Obama!” the massacre at Kenya’s Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi is it. The Somalian terrorist group, al-Shabaab, which has links to al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the slaughter of at least 62 people, including Canadian diplomat Annemarie Desloges and an as yet unnamed other Canadian. Annemarie’s husband, Robert Munk was injured and has since been released from hospital. Imagine this horrific scene: Terrified shoppers hid behind counters as the gunmen went on the rampage using guns and grenades.

Noah Beck: Are CNN’s Iran Reports Biased, Inept, or Corrupt?— Al-Jazeera bought access to U.S. public opinion when it purchased Current TV from Al Gore, but it faces stiff competition from CNN when it comes to misleading viewers about the Middle East. Over the last week, CNN has promoted a biased, re-branded image of the Iranian regime on at least three major programs.

Mitch Ginsburg: Israeli Expert: Work Must Stop at Iran’s Plutonium Reactor—Prof. Uzi Even, who helped build Israel’s nuclear reactor in Dimona, said this week that in dealing with Iran, “The first thing is that all work must stop on the plutonium reactor in Arak. It cannot be allowed to become operable.”

Yoram Ettinger: Demographic concept of doom— The suggestion that Jews are doomed to become a minority between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean is outrageously misleading.

Joby Warrick: Israeli Ambassador: “Our Margin for Error Is So Small”—Retiring Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren discussed Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in an interview: “Here you have an Iranian leader who comes from inside the regime – he was chosen by the supreme leader as one of the selected candidates. He has boasted in the past that he has lied to the West, that he smiled and installed centrifuges.”

Einat Wilf: To Avoid the Use of Force, Be Ready to Use It—The ancient Romans said: “he who wants peace must prepare for war.” To successfully implement this doctrine, three components must be in place: the capability to use force, projection of a true willingness to use it, and a deep desire to avoid doing so. Prepare for war too much and you risk instigating the very war you wish to avoid; prepare too little and you risk encouraging aggression through weakness and appeasement.

Boaz Bismuth: The end of the Iranian fantasy—Ever since Iranian President Hasan Rouhani gave his address at the United Nations General Assembly last week, the world has been living in some kind of fantasy. At the Iranian movie festival in New York, Rouhani managed to sell the world on a romantic comedy in which the Iranians and the rest of the world live happily ever every after. If it wasn’t about an Iranian nuclear bomb and an existential threat to Israel, it could have been rather funny. And if it weren’t for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s own U.N. address this week, the Iranian movie could have just kept on running.

Lee Smith: If There Really Is a Fatwa, There’s No Need to Negotiate about Anything—Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has said he is against nuclear weapons – he even wrote a fatwa against them. Some Americans and Israelis say they can find no evidence that the fatwa really exists. Obama sees the fatwa as a hopeful sign.

Dan Margalit: Iran Is Worried—The Israeli military threat will bolster, not weaken, America’s hand at the negotiating table. Iran’s grin hides its concern about the fact that Netanyahu’s speech showed that Israel and the U.S. have moved closer to having the same red line regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Netanyahu said that, even in a worst-case scenario in which it is left standing alone against Iran, Israel would not give up the military option. Iran understands this well.

David Horovitz: There Is No Diplomatic Route with Iran, Just a Blind Ally—Netanyahu has no time for Rouhani’s we’re-no-threat-to-anyone platitudes. He is certain that Tehran is fooling the international community, and that the regime is duplicitously seeking to attain and retain nuclear breakout status – with the means and the material to make a dash for the bomb when it so chooses. Yet for Obama, there is a readiness to play out the diplomatic track. The Israeli prime minister can hardly contemplate military action so long as the president is engaging with Iran.

4--Scripture of the Day USE THIS ONE

The scripture below is from the New American Standard Bible, and the hyperlinks associated with each word are from Strong’s Concordance for the New American Standard Bible.

Amos 3: 14-15

“For on the day that I punish Israel’s transgressions, I will also punish the altars of Bethel; the horns of the altar will be cut off and they will fall to the ground. I will also smite the winter house together with the summer house; the houses of ivory will also perish and the great houses will come to an end,” declares Yahweh.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.

  • Falsely Accused is a true story about a young woman who was accused of committing a double homicide.  It’s about a travesty of justice, and it reveals Yahweh intervening in the life of a believer to rescue her from danger in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.  Everyone will enjoy the book, but young people in particular need to read it because the mistakes made that led to the problem could have been avoided.  They were the kinds of mistakes that young people are prone to make.  As they say, forewarned is forearmed.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
