Caroline Glick—America and the good psychopaths:

In his speech Tuesday before the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu tried to get the Americans to stop their collective swooning at the sight of an Iranian president who smiled in their general direction.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” the premier warned, “I wish I could believe [President Hassan] Rouhani, but I don’t because facts are stubborn things. And the facts are that Iran’s savage record flatly contradicts Rouhani’s soothing rhetoric.”

He might have saved his breath. The Americans weren’t interested.

Two days after Netanyahu’s speech, US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel issued a rejoinder to Netanyahu. Hagel said, “I have never believed that foreign policy is a zero-sum game.”

Well, maybe he hasn’t. But the Iranians have.

And they still do view diplomacy — like all their dealings with their sworn enemies — as a zero sum game.

Raymond Ibrahim: Nigeria: Where Jihad and Christian Persecution Run Rampant— Many around the world were recently made aware—got a small glimpse—of the Islamic jihad that plagues northern Nigeria, at the hands of Boko Haram, an organization dedicated to eradicating Christianity and enforcing the totality of Sharia law. Last Sunday, September 29, around 1 a.m. Islamic terrorists dressed in Nigerian military uniforms invaded an agricultural college, shooting students as they slept in their dorms, killing a total of some 50 students.

Anita Kumar: Obama spy panel is loaded with insiders, critics charge— After a public backlash to government spying, President Barack Obama called for an independent group to review the vast surveillance programs that allow the collections of phone and email records. Now, weeks before the group’s first report is due, some lawmakers, technology organizations and civil liberties groups are concerned that the panel’s members are too close to the Obama administration and its mission too vague to provide a thorough scrubbing of the National Security Agency technologies that have guided intelligence gathering since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Douglas Murray: Pretending the Problem Is Not There— After all, Islam is not a pacifist religion. Its founder was not a Quaker. There are many of the opinion that this problem should be out in the open, discussed and tackled. Not least in order to assist those Muslim scholars who are preaching against the extremists.

Col. (ret.) Dr. Jacques Neriah: After the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Is Hamas in Gaza Next in Line?—Egypt has finally decided to tackle the security threat from the Sinai Peninsula, a region that was nearly under the control of jihadist organizations with links to al-Qaeda and Hamas.

Emily Alpert: When Judaism is secularized, Jews push it aside, study finds— Scholars say that the Jewish people have long seen themselves as more than a religious faith, also defining themselves as Jewish through culture or ancestry. Only 15 percent see being Jewish as “mainly a matter of religion,” a new survey of nearly 3,500 Jewish Americans shows.

Ephraim Kam: Hassan Rouhani and the Spiritual Leader: A New Style of Negotiations— Within just a few short weeks, using a sophisticated, complex, low cost move, Hassan Rouhani, Iran’s new president, succeeded in changing the rules of the Iranian nuclear game. The change consists of two interdependent aspects: an historic breakthrough to direct dialogue with the United States at the very highest echelons, and the projection of a more moderate approach that can – according to Rouhani and the United States – resolve differences and lead to an agreement on the nuclear issue within a short time. The relationship between the US and Iranian presidents – so far manifested in written exchanges and one publicized telephone call – could make it possible, for the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, for the two nations’ leaders to discuss disputed issues directly and attempt to resolve them.

Yaakov Lappin: Israel Hopes to Avoid Third Intifada Despite Palestinian Rhetoric, Violence— The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) lost two soldiers to Palestinian violence in the West Bank last week. Although a third intifada remains unlikely according to intelligence assessments, the threat of terrorism in the West Bank remains ever-present, and the army has beefed up its forces to prevent an escalation of incidents.

Gonen Ginat: Flying too high— There are several Israelis who could benefit from the Swazi law that limits the altitude at which witches are allowed to fly their brooms.

Dr. Aviad Hacohen: Circumcision is here to stay— The recent European Council resolution against circumcision is not the first or last time this issue comes up.

Isi Leibler: Netanyahu made us proud— Netanyahu must convince the U.S. that the threat Iran poses is real and immediate, and if left unchecked, will allow history to repeat itself in a terrible way.

4--Scripture of the Day USE THIS ONE

The scripture below is from the New American Standard Bible, and the hyperlinks associated with each word are from Strong’s Concordance for the New American Standard Bible.

Amos 3: 12-13

Thus says Yahweh, “Just as the shepherd snatches from the lion’s mouth a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, so will the sons of Israel dwelling in Samaria be snatched away– with [the] corner of a bed and [the] cover of a couch! Hear and testify against the house of Jacob,” declares Adonai Yahweh, the God of hosts.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
