Jeremiah 12: 14-17

Israel’s border may not sound like a big deal to people who are chronically uninformed, but to Yahweh it’s about fulfilling promises.

Israel’s present-day border is the product of a war for survival – the Six Day War in 1967.  Israel’s 1967 border was the result of a war for survival as well – Israel’s War of Independence.  Saying that Israel can’t keep land that it won in a war for survival makes no sense.  If you took away all the land that Israel has gained in wars for survival, Israel would have no land.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly what Palestinian Arabs want.  In their world, Israel doesn’t exist.  Israel doesn’t even appear on their maps.  Yasser Arafat, fashion freak that he was, wore his headdress in the shape of the tiny country that he hoped to destroy.  He died trying to destroy Israel, but he didn’t succeed.  In the picture below you can see him carefully primping for a photo.  He wants his headdress to be just right for the gaggle of assembled photographers:

The Palestinian and Hamas Charters still call for Israel’s destruction.  They paint a portrait of a people wholly committed to one thing – Israel’s total annihilation.  They have a rabid fetish for Israeli blood, and they will be satisfied with nothing less than the elimination of the tiny Jewish homeland in their midst.  President Obama, the European Union, and the Quartet can’t change that reality, and ignoring it will be the costliest mistake they will ever make.

Yahweh’s promises concerning the Promised Land are not starting points from which negotiations are supposed to begin.  He made them to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they are fixed for all eternity.  To nonbelievers, they are just words; to moon god worshipers they are illegitimate; but to Yahweh and His people they are sacrosanct.

Israel’s border may not sound like a big deal to people who are chronically uninformed, but to Yahweh it’s about fulfilling promises.  Where you come down on that issue tells Yahweh if you are for Him or against Him.
