Jeremiah 12: 14-17:
Thus says Yahweh concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel, “Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them. And it will come about that after I have uprooted them, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land. Then if they will really learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ even as they taught My people to swear by Baal, they will be built up in the midst of My people. But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares Yahweh. (Jeremiah 12: 14-17)

To Palestinians, lying is normal and accepted. It’s part of their culture.
Last week’s Los Angeles Times included an op-ed piece by Saree Makdisi, a person of Palestinian descent who teaches at UCLA, titled Leaked papers: The Palestinian people betrayed. You need to read it because it demonstrates better than anything I can say that for Palestinians lying is normal and accepted. It’s part of their culture.
I’ve included many of the leaked Palestine Papers in SnyderTalk. If you’ve read them, you know that they show clearly that Israel has been desperately trying to achieve peace with the Palestinians, but to no avail. Duplicitous and greedy Palestinian leaders have done everything imaginable to sabotage the peace process. Each time it appears that a deal is at hand, they come up with another issue that prevents movement forward, and they foment unrest to cover their tracks. All the while, they skim off huge sums of cash for their own personal use as donations pour in to help the “underprivileged” Palestinian people.
It’s true that Palestinians are underprivileged, but they are that way because of their leaders’ larceny and ill will. My problem with Makdisi’s op-ed piece is that most people who read it will be totally ignorant about what’s actually taking place in the Middle East and believe it. It’s so far from the truth that it’s laughable, but that doesn’t stop Makdisi from spewing forth his venomous lies. If he had a sense of shame, he would retract that piece and write another one in which he tells the truth.

Recent developments in the Middle East should come as no surprise. In fact, they are just the beginning of even more global terrorist activity.
Iran fell to Islamist terrorists in 1979. The world yawned. Europe became a hotbed of Islamist activity. People who raised the warning flag were ridiculed. Russia was struck by Islamist terrorists repeatedly. Russian leaders scrambled to make deals with Iran – an Islamist terrorist sponsor state – even going so far as to help them develop their nuclear capabilities … for peaceful purposes. Yeah, right. September 11, 2001, the World Trade Center was attacked and destroyed by Islamist terrorists. The US and NATO went to war with Afghanistan. Lebanon was taken over by Hezbollah – a radical Islamist group, and the Lebanese prime minister was murdered. Syria and Iran played an important part in undermining the government of Lebanon, and the world blinked.
Well, as they say, it’s time to pay the fiddler. Students in my strategy classes at the University of Virginia heard me say many times that we are heading for a global war. It’s radical Islam against everyone else and against each other. Many of them thought I was just dreaming, but I was simply connecting the dots. If you are a regular SnyderTalk reader, you’re aware that I’ve been warning about these events since the inception of SnyderTalk. Obviously, some people are beginning to pay attention because SnyderTalk readership is growing by about 300% using month-over-month comparisons.
Have we reached a tipping point with the recent events in Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, and Yemen and to a lesser extent in Jordan and Saudi Arabia? Maybe. It’s clear that radical Islamists have been emboldened by these goings-on. The more enthusiastic they are, the easier it is for them to recruit new murderers. That doesn’t bode well for the civilized world.
The warning signs have been there for the whole world to see for more than 3 decades, but they have been ignored. Thanks to the events of the last several months, even an idiot can’t help but recognize that we’re approaching a critical juncture. That bodes well for LPs in general and NYT columnists in particular.
As we say down South, it’s time to fish or cut bait. We’ve been at war with radical Islam for some time now, and it’s time to accept that fact.
Again, I ask, “Have we reached a tipping point?” Again, I say, “Maybe.” But I’ll go one step further. If this isn’t the tipping point, you can see it from here. Wake up world.

Richard Rives with Just the Facts
The New Testament is full of references to the law, including the fact that sin is the transgression of the law. It tells us that if there was no law there would be no definition of sin. Even so what we hear most often is that believers are not under the law.
Today there are those who would lead us to believe that somehow “grace” negates the instructions of our Creator and that grace warrants the willful disregard for His commandments without penalty. According to Scripture, that is just not true. Sin is still defined as the transgression of the law, and the wages of sin is still death.
What Paul was telling us with the phrase “not under the law” is that as believers, by the power of the Holy Spirit, sin does not have dominion over us. By way of the Holy Spirit believers are empowered to live in accordance with the instructions of our Creator.
After stating that believers are not under the law, here’s what Paul had to say:
What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness….
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
As we see, justification for the willful practice of sin, the transgression of our Creators commandments, can be found nowhere in Scripture. That idea is a result of rebellious men claiming higher authority; and while stating that Jesus is Christ, they deceive many.
