Isaiah 45: 8-9—“Drip down, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds pour down righteousness; let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit, and righteousness spring up with it. I, Yahweh, have created it. Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker—an earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’ or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands’?”

Shalu shalom Yerushalayim: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalm 122: 6)

Scripture of the day:

Isaiah 45: 8-9—“Drip down, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds pour down righteousness; let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit, and righteousness spring up with it.  I, Yahweh, have created it.  Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker—an earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth!  Will the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you doing?’ or the thing you are making say, ‘He has no hands’?”

“Did you know that most people in Indonesia are Muslim? That American public school teachers can read from the Bible as an example of literature? That only Protestants traditionally teach that salvation comes through faith alone?”

#####

“Every so often, the sayings of Casey Stengel come to mind. The longtime manager of the New York Yankees, accustomed to a Prussian professionalism in the hitting and fielding of baseballs, moved over to the astonishingly hapless New York Mets in 1962 and, surveying his new team, uttered an exasperated question: ‘Can’t anybody here play this game?’ What applied to those Mets applies now to the Obama administration. In the Middle East, it’s no hits and plenty of errors.”

#####

“In returning forcefully to this issue in a high-profile venue, Obama risks repeating his administration’s past diplomatic errors. Recall that it was Washington’s – not the Palestinians’ – early preoccupation with settlements that metastasized into a precondition delaying peace talks in 2009 and early 2010.  The American (re)emphasis on it now decreases the chance of a compromise which will allow the talks to continue unimpeded.”

#####

“Stuart Levey, the stalwart–Bush Administration holdover at Treasury who leads the American effort to impose crippling sanctions on Iran recently offered a highly upbeat assessment of the current state of play with the Tehran regime. Arguing that both the UN multilateral sanctions have begun to bite, as have American unilateral sanctions, Levey pointed out that the Iranian government is finding it increasingly difficult to conduct transactions in dollars or Euros, that its oil and gas sectors are hurting, and that major international firms, such as Toyota, Russia’s Lukoil, Allianz and Shell, have cut back or completely eliminated their business in Iran.”

#####

“It never ceases to amaze me how hysteria and mystification so clouds peoples’ minds over the Arab-Israeli (or Israeli-Palestinian) conflict. Consider this simple point of logic which you may not see explained anywhere else. And see the point at the end about President Barack Obama.”

#####

“World leaders Monday criticized Israel’s refusal to extend its construction moratorium on the West Bank even after Palestinians threatened to quit Mideast peace talks, but they vowed to prevent the stalled negotiations from collapsing.”

#####

“All Americans, including conservatives, understand why any leftist would vote Democrat this year. The Democratic Party is now America’s version of a European Social Democratic or even Green Party. In domestic policy, there is no significant difference between the American and European parties.”

“‘Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address,’ Engelbrecht said. ‘We then decided to look at who was registering the voters.’”

“In April, the Chinese navy abruptly deployed 10 warships near the Japanese coast and sent helicopters to buzz Japanese ships. In July, the Chinese foreign minister angrily asserted his country’s claim to international waters in the South China Sea, along with some islands claimed by others. Last week, a Chinese fishing trawler smashed into two Japanese Coast Guard boats, possibly on purpose, leading to a Japanese arrest and a furious reaction from Beijing.”

#####

“Last week in New York, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the press that if the United States attacked Iran over its nuclear program it would face war like it had never seen.”

#####

“If the Democrats are looking for graveyards to whistle past, taking false courage in the babble of frightened voices, they should find them in the Middle West, where Republicans once owned most of the electoral real estate and Democrats have pried a lot of it out of their grip in recent decades.”

#####

“With news of President Obama’s plan to swarm the heartland this week to re-energize his base, one wonders whether he’s finally heard the message that mainstream America is repulsed by his agenda. Is his direct appeal to ‘the young and minority voters’ an admission that he’s beyond electoral redemption with the rest?”

#####

“When John Kerry calls you out of touch, you must be so far out of touch that you need to call Mazlan Othman, the U.N.’s designated liaison to space aliens, to re-establish contact with Planet Earth.”

#####

“America’s enemies understand deeply and intuitively that nothing at stake in the Middle East–no U.S. war aims or resources anywhere in the region–is remotely as important as Israel. Why can’t American leaders figure this out?”

#####

“The poverty rate in the United States, reports the Census Bureau, increased to 14.3 percent last year, up from 13.2 percent in 2008, bringing the number of Americans living in poverty to its highest levels since 1994. This is not the change on which Obama voters were counting.”

#####

“Christine O’Donnell, U.S. Senate candidate from Delaware, has faced considerable criticism and news media attention about her youthful association with witchcraft. Have we seen similar news media attention given to other politicians who have made bizarre remarks that border on gross stupidity—possibly lunacy?”

“One of the many slick tricks of the Obama administration was to insert a provision in the massive Obamacare legislation regulating people who sell gold. This had nothing to do with medical care but everything to do with sneaking in an extension of the government’s power over gold, in a bill too big for most people to read.”

“It’s big news in Britain, but here at the Examiner we ran only four paragraphs from the Associated Press story, and so far as I can tell the story got little more coverage in the Wall Street Journal (seven paragraphs on page A15) or the Washington Post (nothing that I could find in Monday’s paper); the splendid John F. Burns provided more coverage in the New York Times.  But it’s a dramatic and big story. Former Energy Secretary Ed Milliband beat his brother, former Foreign Secretary David Milliband, for the leadership of the Labour party by 1.3% of the weighted vote. David Milliband won among party members and Labour Members of Parliament; Ed Milliband won among the labor unions.”

#####

“President Obama is crowing about his small-business bill, signed into law on Monday. ‘It was critical that we cut taxes and made more loans available to entrepreneurs,’ he said. Trouble is, small businesses and community banks don’t want Obama’s $30 billion program. That’s right. They don’t want it.”

#####

“A recent survey suggests that Americans are more accepting than ever of homosexual ‘families’. Although only about a third of Americans consider homosexual couples with no children to be a family, 68% say homosexual couples with children do indeed make a ‘family.’”

“On occasion, Congress votes on matters that have a serious and meaningful impact on people’s lives and workplaces across the country.  Such a development took place this week when the U.S. Senate voted on Joint Resolution 30. While many Americans weren’t necessarily familiar with the details of the resolution, they certainly understood that it set aside anti-democratic and un-American decisions made by the National Mediation Board (NMB).”

“Emanuel made $16.2 million during the two years he worked at Wasserstein Perella, and the Exelon merger was his biggest deal. White House strategist David Axelrod also has done consulting work for Exelon.”

If you didn’t like Ahmadinejad’s speech to the UN on September 23rd, you weren’t his audience.

Watching Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speak to the UN has become an annual ritual.  His diatribes may not impress Western listeners, but we’re not his audience.  He is speaking primarily to Muslims.  More specifically, he’s addressing radical Islamists.  They hear him and understand him perfectly.

Iran has emerged as the leading motivator and enabler of Islamists around the globe.  An editorial in the Iranian daily Kayhan on September 19, 2010 which asserted that Iran has triumphed in its strategic power struggle with the U.S. in the Middle East wasn’t just another idle boast.  That may, in fact, be true.

Iran is pouring weapons and cash into Hamas and Hezbollah and Syria for a reason—the hoped for destruction of the State of Israel.  It’s almost unthinkable that Turkey would get onboard the Ahmadinejad Express, but that has happened too.  I suspect we’ll see even more startling changes in the Middle East in the very near future, and nothing that is happening bodes well for the “peace process”.  In reality, the “peace process” is a prelude to another major battle between Israel and her Arab neighbors, only this time the scope of the conflict will be wider than in the past thanks to Iran’s determined efforts.

I’ll say this much for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.  He doesn’t mince words, and he says things that others believe but are unwilling to say publically.  Assuming that Mr. Ahmadinejad has a modicum of common sense, you can bet that he isn’t telling us everything.  He has yet to divulge his most sinister secrets.  They might even alarm his Islamist followers if that were possible.

Below are several points that Ahmadinejad made in his speech to the UN this year:

  • The US orchestrated the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center to prop up the declining US economy and to save “the Zionist regime in the Middle East”—that’s Israel.
  • “The oppressed people of Palestine” have been brutalized by an “occupying power”—that’s Israel—and the “occupation” can’t be allowed to continue.  He wasn’t referring to “settlements”.  He was talking about all of Israel.
  • Israel is being propped up by Western powers.
  • The rights of the Palestinian people have not been taken into account.
  • Iran has a right to develop nuclear energy.
  • Capitalism has failed, and the hegemony of Western powers in the Middle East and the world is waning.
  • The UN Security Council doesn’t represent the UN General Assembly.

You can watch Ahmadinejad’s speech in its entirety and read the transcript by clicking here.

Eventually, history will reveal that World War II extended to at least the present day.  The Cold War was simply Phase 2 of WWII, and a “New World Order” is developing at this moment.  Adolf Hitler’s hatred of Jewish people and his desire to exterminate them completely didn’t die with him.  The spirit that shaped Hitler’s philosophy is alive today and is evident in the actions of these men: Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Hamas Chief Khaled Meshal, and Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah among others.

The centrality of the Jewish people in the history of the world will become apparent to everyone in due course.  Yahweh is going to make sure that it does.  You need to know whose side you are on.  I advise you to think about this very carefully, because your thoughts and actions have consequences.  I suggest that you pray about Joshua’s affirmation: “If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve Yahweh, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.” (Joshua 24: 15)

You can’t avoid making a choice.  That’s by Divine design.  Every one of us must decide whose side we are on, and not choosing boils down to rejecting Yahweh.  There are some interesting days ahead, so you had better get ready.
