The truth is that all of us sin every day. If Yahweh’s love for us were conditioned on our being sinless, then He could not love any of us. Therefore, Yahweh bases His love for us on His steadfast righteousness instead of our righteousness, which as Isaiah said, is “like a filthy garment.” (Isaiah 64: 6; Isaiah 64: 5 in the Tanach ) Now that is true love.

Today’s Feature

The fact that our righteousness comes from Yahweh makes sense from a human perspective if we think about it this way.  Consider a married couple for a moment.  The relationship between man and wife is not good if either of them conditions their love on the other one doing something for them.  If they feel as though they must earn the love of their spouse by doing something, then they are miserable.

They may accept a bad relationship and learn to live with it, but it is not a healthy, happy relationship because they never know where they stand with one another.  They wake up each morning uncertain, wondering if today is the day their relationship will fall apart and knowing that if they make a mistake it could come to an end.

In the backs of their minds, they are constantly thinking that maybe he or she will meet another person who can do more than I can or do things better than I can.  Doubt and uncertainty take their toll over time and make life miserable.

Healthy marriage relationships are built on love that is unconditional.  Each spouse loves the other no matter what happens, and both of them know it.  Unconditional love is the foundation of a good marriage relationship, and it is the kind of love that Yahweh has for us.  He wants us to wake up each morning confident and certain that we cannot lose His love.  God wants us to have faith in Him to love us and take care of us forever.

By declaring that our righteousness is not based on our own effort and initiative but on Yahweh’s righteousness instead, He opens the door for us to have the kind of permanent relationship with Him that He and we desire.  Yahweh’s righteousness never changes.  He is righteousness.

Yahweh does not want us to wake up every morning thinking we might sin today and destroy our relationship with Him.  God absolutely does not want us to go through life wondering what will happen when we die and meet Him face-to-face for the final judgment.

Net Neutrality

Net neutrality is an issue that touches all of us in one way or another.  Take a look at the articles below for a primer on the subject and keep your eyes and ears open.

I want to be very clear.  I am not a Chicken Little.  The process of reviewing Internet content and delivery is just getting underway.  That said I know there is reason for concern.  Judging by the way the Obamaites attacked Fox News this past week, we can’t take anything for granted.  Even so, now is not the time for alarm.

We need to take action, and by that I mean it’s time to start contacting your members of the House and Senate.  Please don’t attach your name to a mass email that is supposed to get to them one day in the sweet by-and-by, and don’t send anyone money to advance this issue.  Take a few minutes; look up the email addresses for your Senators and member of the House; and send them an email from your computer.  That will do it for now, and it won’t take a lot of time.

Click on the link below and you can locate your elected officials email addresses and fax numbers.  An email that makes your case in simple, direct terms is ideal.  Just make it short and sweet.

A representative republic is a wonderful thing if people participate.  Let’s count on our representatives to do the right thing when we give them good data.  Please feel free to use the information in the articles below.  If your elected officials don’t do the right thing, the next step will be to hold them accountable, but our goal for now is to inform them about our opinions and why we hold them.
